When is Cadillac going to be phased out? (1 Viewer)

Is it time for Blount (or huggins when healthy?)?

What info do we have here, seeing as cadillac is getting a hefty 3 inches per carry.

Should Blount be targeted as a "throw in" for trades?

There were talks about Blount needing to learn how to "protect his qb", but is he really that bad at picking up the blitz? I have only seen freeman to MW footage of tampa, so any insight would be helpful.

Maybe next yearbut a few points....1) It won't be Keiland Williams - he is on the Redskins, not Bucs2) It won't be Kareem Huggins, he is now on IR3) Blount may get some carries at the goal line or short yardage and then get more chances but he won't totally replace Caddy

Nobody ever talks about Kregg Lumpkin, perhaps with good reason, but does anyone have the skinny on him?

They'll be a passing team for rest of 2010. Then use their 1st-round draft pick on a RB. Which they can afford to do, since the defense has been better than expected. They don't really have that many holes to fill, but RB is definitely at the top of the list. Cadillac will be a backup for the rest of his career, whether in Tampa or elsewhere.

Fixed. Thank you.

I'm thinking a lot of Blount this week and the real freebie grab before next weeks wire claims could be Lumpy. Before the end of the year Lumpkin and Blount could be the duo once these old timers step aside. Caddy is just about done, Huggy is done and Graham can't shake the mild hammy pull.

I realize this is deep, but there's always those 3-4 late emerging RBs that put up servicable stats when RBs start to vanish due to injury.

Bucs OC G Olson suggests dual role (RB/FB) for Kregg Lumpkin this weekend. Expect Blount and Lumpkin to dress this weekend.

RB Kregg Lumpkin has been putting in extra study time w/his playbook & says he's ready to fill an Earnest Graham-type RB/FB role if needed.

Lumpkin to be active Week 7?: With RB Kareem Huggins (torn ACL) gone for the season, running backs Kregg Lumpkin and LeGarrette Blount should expect more opportunity, coach Raheem Morris said. "Hopefully (Lumpkin and Blount) will come on strong," Morris said. "Now is the time."

(Updated 10/20/2010)

If my memory serves me right hasn't Lumpy looked pretty good with his limited looks at GB and this past preseason? They might both bring some power, but I think Lumpy is the more complete RB with better hands.

I know Waldman was pretty high on him coming out of college (In relation to his draft spot etc) and the huge knock on him has been how many bad injuries he has sustained. I don't know exactly what it was injury wise but he lost most of his senior year and enough sophomore years to go undrafted despite showing a bit. He was the only UDFA to make the final day roster for the Packers in 08 (Though that doesn't mean a tonne :bag: ) and then was signed to the practice squad.I definitely think he has stop gap potential, but doubt he will ever pull it together.EDIT - Fairly sure he was IRed in 08 as well

Caddy may get phased out as a runner, but he has a stranglehold on the 3rd down back job. I'm hopeful for Blount (giving him 1 more week), but he'll only get 1st & 2nd downs along with short yardage.

I must think more highly of Caddy than most people. I was planning on starting him this week in my ppr league over Lynch. I guess I might have to re-think this now. I still feel he is going to have his best game to date this week against Stl.
