Was at the game. The fans were going nuts. This commish has to go. Pathetic. So, you can't hit the QB in the head. Or below the knees. And now, apparently, you cannot hit him in the chest and fall on him. The direction of this league is going to kill defenses like the Steelers. I can't wait for 68-54 games every week because you can't freaking hit anyone.
That call was pathetic
And of course since it was Harrison AGAIN you know the commish/N(o) F(un) L(eague) are probably going to fine him :(Was at the game. The fans were going nuts. This commish has to go. Bigger than that. It's having an adverse affect on the game, injuries are up and as evidenced today in the Pitt v OAK game, the officials are having a difficult time adjusting to the new, um, "interpretations"Venting thread.
The horsecollar on Suh was brutal...he got ALL hair![]()
If the Commish is true to his words, this very well could be a suspension, it would be a travesty but that is the corner Goodell has painted himself in. They are either going to admit the call is bogus, (which it was), or have to deal with a 3 time offender. And of course since it was Harrison AGAIN you know the commish/N(o) F(un) L(eague) are probably going to fine himWas at the game. That columnist lost me on the fifth word when he called one guy hitting another guy wearing a helmet a "sucker-punch".This columnist wants answers. There wil be more.

I agree I happened to catch the play during a break in the Jets game and it looked perfectly legal to me.The trouble is being caused mostly because of the "new" edict from Mr. Bad(not Good)ell /Harrison's/Steelers rep/Poor Refereeing (because they want to keep their weekend jobs)If the Commish is true to his words, this very well could be a suspension, it would be a travesty but that is the corner Goodell has painted himself in. I Don't think they are being "targeted" as much as it's a combination of poor officiating And Goodell's rules.Class Dismissed said:James Walker from ESPN Chimes in

I could care less if the final was 100-0 in favor of Pittsburgh.Goodell is taking the N(o) F(un) L(eague) to new lows with all the over-officiating that's going on.
I agree, the officials had it hard enough, then the change in focus. They certainly haven't made the Referees jobs any easier this year.I Don't think they are being "targeted" as much as it's a combination of poor officiating And Goodell's rules.Class Dismissed said:James Walker from ESPN Chimes in

I hadn't seen that until now, but they really called that a penalty? Good grief.here's the Harrison hit:

Fortunately, Pittsburgh (7-3) didn’t let the zebras get in the way of Sunday’s blowout.
Took a TD off the board.here's the Harrison hit:
The flag on Seattle DE Raheem Brock was pretty bad. It seemed the very defintion of "doing it right", but he still got a flag. It would have been humanly impossible for him to hold up and not hit Brees, and when he did it was chest to chest. No helmet contact at all.Was surprised to see that reply by the Squawk fan. I'd like to see what the responses of the "Conspiracy Against Pittsburgh" guys were to the Hawk fans that were crying Conspiracy in XL. I'd imagine they want a different response than they gave back then. Was surprised to see that reply by the Squawk fan. I guess I am more on the anti helmet to helmet/head stuff than most. It comes down to being fundamental tacklers. Years ago, you tackled fundamentally because the gear you wore would not protect you from serious injuries if you did not. Now players launch themselves with arms back all the time - leading with the crown of the helmet. As to the video of the hit on Campbell - I am amazed how well all of you can see through Campbells body - must be xray vision. If the defender wants to hit in the upper chest area and slides the helmet up into the chin area, then he should not complain. I cannot see the play from the other side, but that is likely what happened. You hit the QB when he is throwing in the chin with your helmet, it is a penalty. That is not new, that has been called for several years now.here's the Harrison hit:

That's not what they called.here's the Harrison hit:
Yeah, That's not what he did at all.You can't pick up a QB and drive him into the ground. Whether you agree with the rule or not it's been around for awhile and the players are all aware of it. If Harrison still can't figure it out then that's on him. The refs made the right call.
