Where in the world are the middle-aged dummies? Worldwide top 31 song countdown. (4 Viewers)

I'd planned on joining the club, but since someone let the private jet info slip out and there's no seats left, I'll be spending my time between now and the ides of March returning the 26 different Carmen San Diego hats I've already bought for the trip and shopping for new furniture since I sold my old couch to pay for the hats. :hot:

Nooooooo! I'll do your furniture shopping for you. Do you like very expensive bean bags? We need you in the countdown!
Oh THAT'S what a Love Sac is!
My local mall has a Love Sac. I was surprised that they allowed such a store in a family type atmosphere.

Those things are called "LOVESAC"?

Nope.

Nope.

Hell nope.

Started making shortlist in head in the pub, thought I might have needed to go full meme/EDM/repeated artist, then loaded up the ineligible lists and my main playlist and I've now got to make a boatload of cuts

@Raging weasel

I finally got around to making a "new-to-me favorites" playlist from the first two countdowns, 25 songs from each. Hopefully y'all will come up with 25 songs I'll want to add to it.

While for my own picks, the Brits averaged much longer song lengths than the Americans, on this playlist, there are more tracks lasting 10+ minutes from the Americans (4 vs. 0). This can basically be attributed to never having heard of Elder until Manster picked them a squillion times.

I saw @Sullie in here earlier. Join us, my friend!

Also paging @simey @MAC_32 @Hawks64 (who might still be on his DMB tour) @falguy @DrIanMalcolm @KarmaPolice @Manster @scorchy @Westerberg @Chaz McNulty @ditkaburgers @Eephus
I emailed Dr. Ian yesterday. Guess he hasn't been online much lately. We had talked about this countdown so I'm sure he'll say he's in once he's back on his devices.
I'm here. I'm in!
All this time I thought your username was Drlan, as in Dylan with an "r".

Me too :bag:

I was having more trouble with this one than I expected. Last night only came up with 27 artists off the top of my head, and a couple of the artists were stretches and one was listed as "that Australian band that sings that one song" (getting old is fun). But then I went through my favorite songs playlist and realized I'm a dummy. It's an embarrassment of riches.

it is indeed! Even if your plan is to just run 30 Neil Young songs and the theme from "Strange Brew."

I had forgotten about Nickelback at first too.

found the same for an Australian band that was a no doubter ...and maybe the same one that hadn't realized there were way more than a handful of songs I may want (so many of these are one or just a couple) outside of the obvious big names

Looking over the landscape, I can't help but think that this countdown...

...is going to feature more artists that nobody has ever heard of and yet...

...will have the closest thing to a consensus #1 pick than either the US or UK countdowns.
I was about to say, not so fast, but I think you are right that the consensus #1 is fairly easy to identify. In fact, I'll put up a $100 charitable donation bet to the first one who wants to take the field vs my sole pick; and by pick, I mean prediction, as I'm certain I won't be selecting the song for my playlist.

I have a list of 204 Neil songs everyone is free to borrow from!

Do you mean artist or song? Or both?
