We've brought you Rob Rang, Russ Lande, Matt Waldman, Matt Miller, and Josh Buchanan. We have a few special guests we're trying to line up for next week. Other than the obvious (Mayock) - who are some of your favorite draftniks that you would like us to try to get on the show for the stretch run to the draft?

I don't have anyone specific in mind, but my request is that we get lots of questions on the quality of players and very few questions about where a player will go in the draft or which player a team might take.

Nolan Nawrocki would be the obvious choice. Hopefully he'll be more comfortable in your format than TV. Everytime I see him on NFL Network, I just feel bad for him. His bruised cadence makes me pine for Mayock's lisp.

Tony Nowak ( I enjoyed the Wildman interview so much I want to "hear" from Tony. IDPs and RBs. It would be good stuff.)

Scott Wright

Whoever is the boss at Football's Future.

Harry Buffington -- Combine Big Dog

Don Joyce -- Blesto Big Dog

Jeff Shiver -- Active Bears Scout

Ron Marciniak -- Active Ravens Scout

Any active Chargers scout.

I am impressed with Baltimore, Chicago, and San Diego and would love to peek in the windows.

Scott Wright comes to mind. He seems to like Quinn, and in an industry with such varied opinions on Quinn, it's nice to hear everyones stance.

Nawrocki is on the list.

kiper & mcshay of espn

frank coyle

i liked the narocki & wright mentions (& mayock, who would be my first choice)

i would have said lande (but already bagged)

corey chavous did yeoman's work on NFL network draft coverage with mayock... with plus that we could pump him for rams insider scoops... :)

* gil brandt was oversight (on my part)... he might be my #2 choice after mayock... pat kirwan does good work at times, & as former front office/personnel-type, that would ground his insights & could bring realism & some authoritativeness to the table... lande falls into this category as former scout, and same for mayock & chavous as former players...

Real NFL scouts. Active and retired.

Not just talking heads.

Talk to the author, not the person who read a book from the author. If you catch my drift.

We've got plenty of amateur book reports on the board already.

I know it crosses the fantasy line to real football, but do it!

FYI, they have really moved on the 2008 class by now.
Yup, they've had their full year to analyze the 2006 (2007 draft) class. Scout's jobs are done by February when the last prospects file for the draft. It's up to the GMs to arrange the talent order on their boards to meet the needs of the team.Highly unlikely, but if you can get interviews with front office personnel. Do it.The FBG website credibility jumps tenfold. Not sure that's the direction of FBGs. Though player interviews seem to lean towards moving beyond being strictly a fantasy oriented product. Talking to the players is better than talking about the players.

2nd the Frank Coyle. And how about Mike Golich for what would probably be the most entertaining interview of the draft?

We will definitely be angling for at least a quick few words with Golic at the draft - he's one of the main sources of entertainment at the draft!

I agree with this philosophy. Do y'all think we have done a good job with this so far in the Lande, Rang, Waldman, Miller, Buchanan interviews?

I like Kirwan a lot more than most. He seems to be tuned in to the pulse of the league (he was the one I heard say Chad Jackson would drop last year because NFL GMs were concerned that he was soft - a notion everyone here scoffed at) and he's an entertaining interview to boot.

Kirwan is by far one of the nicest guys in this business. I talked to him at last year's draft (before I had a show to record the interview for) and Im sure we'll talk to him again this year at the draft - we'll put him on the list of the guys we'll try to get before the draft too.

Just kidding, although in all seriousness, it would be interesting to see what his takes are for those FBGs like me in the Michigan area who often mock and ridicule him - for good reason.

I'd say Nawrocki, Coyle, Kirwan and if you could get Mayock, definitely...

The most accurate draft aficionado , Rick Gosselin.

I think you guys are pretty good at this in those recent interviews. It was interesting for instance to hear the contrast of opinions on Pittman between Waldman and Lande.Another thing I would like to hear - for fantasy drafting purposes - eventually is y'all coming back to the big names and getting some different information than the usual we're all familiar with now (like, Quinn hasn't won the big games, Russell looked soft at the combine, Jarrett is slow, Peterson is really good but runs upright, etc).

Definitly PK.....he is by far the best person I like lisitening too. He really knows his stuff. He is one of the main reasons I listen to NFL radio.

I think getting the opinion of as many local writers as possible would be interesting. In the past I tried to search for local sports talk radio stations that archived there programs but there was too much clutter and they did not label which programs contained NFL draft discussions. Nothing is worse than listening to an hour or two of baseball talk just hoping there will be some draft discussion at some point.

If you could save an extended draft discussion segement with local writers for each club seperately I would be forever in your debt.

That's what came to mind for me. You can two different directions with him: * ask about draft specifics for this year * ask about his methodology for gathering the information that allows him to be so damn good at this.

We will be hitting the beat writers circle hard after the draft. We are still planning on getting a beat writer from every team on the audible before the season starts. That was going to be our plan for the time period from the college all star games to the draft, but then we got sidetracked starting draftguys.thanks for the input!
