I think Cowherd is getting to be at the top for me. I can't listen to him for more than a couple of minutes.

He talks for hours on any story with basically 2 thoughts in his head as a starter: 1) how can I apply this story to the media/market situation in that city, and 2) let me think of a work/life analogy

If he'd just stick to pro football picks he'd be worth a listen. Now I basically just listen (on occasion) to see if he hangs himself on air.

ETA: Not literally

For what, entertainment value? I guarantee that guy knows nothing more about football than you or I do.

I don't like Kenny Mayne at all either.
His shtick is small doses is OK.
no
I think his shtick works great with highlights on Sportscenter. Does he still do that?

Keep him away from everything else.
he does and it's unlistenable. every highlight is a snarky schtick fest. awful
They kind of all do that though. It's a rule. You gotta bring at least 5 prepared lines for the highlights

Sweet sassy molassy!

Ray Lewis as an analyst on ESPN MNF is terrible... He's just loud and obnoxious - He makes one of the only guys I wanna hear (Steve Young) frustrated - it is almost visible that Steve is angry bc Ray is so overly in your face.

Guy is terrible!
This poll should be started over with Ray Lewis included.

Indeed. I hate Cowherd and Bayless and Stephen A as much as any sports fan, but if you give me a choice between punching a loudmouth blowhard and punching a loudmouth blowhard murderer it's not really all that close.

I used to hate LeBatard. But I've slowly come around to him. That show HQ is one of my favorite shows now. I enjoy that more than PTI, all because of Wilbon.

I didn't like him when he filled in on PTI, but Le Batard's radio show is great (largely due to Stu Gotz).

I hate him on PTI... at first. Then he grew on me. I love HQ because it's much more light hearted. PTI has turned into two old dudes yelling at each other and one of them thinks race is always an issue. I know it was kind of always like that, but it's gotten much worse.

But I agree that the radio show is very good.

Love the quote from Sunday:

“There’s some things you can cover up, and there’s some things you can’t"

I guess he knows this more than anyone

The only people on this list i do NOT want to punch in the mouth are Mike Greenberg and Tony Reali, and to be fair I have no idea who Tony Reali is, if I knew i might want to punch him

Is it just me, or does Stu Gotz sound like Jason Sudeikis? I think that's why I find him so funny. I picture Dan and Jason Sudeikis talking to each other.

:goodposting: He plays off Le Batard very well. On the few occasions I've heard him without Dan (once with Greg Cody playing the Stu Gotz role) it was brutal. He is Barney to Dan's Andy Griffith.
