Seems to happen every year and, if long enough, can help drop the fantasy value of a player (see Crabtree last year). Which of the above do you think have a decent chance of holding out?

it looks like Dez could have problems. i'm not sure who his agent is, bc that would matter, but he's basically in the same situation as crabtree last year. his agent is going to say he's the best WR in the class, ie better than Thomas, and should be paid equally or more to Thomas. just like crabtree and DHB.

hopefully Jerry will spend the cash because he also knows that dez is the best WR in the class.

His agent is Eugene Parker, same agent as Crabtree. Jerry can break the bank and then 31 other teams are going to not like that plus it sets a bad standard in Dallas, every pick will start holding out so it's probably a very bad idea to spend more than the slot is supposed to be.

This is exactly what I was thinking and his value could take a small plunge like Crabtree's did last year. The thing that will help him is how Crabtree's bounced right back and that will be fresh in the minds of many. That said, those counting on him in 2010 may be disappointed if he does hold out for any length of time.

Dallas has 4 things going for them here.

They have worked with Eugeen Parker many times before without any hold outs. 2nd Edit to add: I knew that we had worked with him on some recent rookies but had to look them up. Parker represented Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins, the 2008 first-rounders, and they were signed a few days into training camp.

Dez dropped alot further than Crabtree so the money will be less either way. Edited to add (by this I mean that when your drafted in the top 10 there is alot of money to be made by holding out. When you reach the 24th pick there is just not that much money to be gained by holding out.)

Dallas has other options at WR, unlike SF, so Dez has less leverage.

Dallas's record when it comes to getting contracts done. Can you tell me the last 1st round pick that held out of camp for Dallas for any significant amount of time? By significant I mean longer than 2-3 days. Its got to be at least 10 years or more.

I hope you are right and it happens. I remember very clearly the 49ers actually saying they called Parker and wanted to talk and he decided not to call them back, he ended up caving after months of no talking/nothing and in the end Crabtree got what was offered all along, dealing with Parker sounds very annoying so good luck.

Does Dez's love for Dallas and the fact that he didn't end up in somewhere like Oakland reduce the chances he holds out. Personally I voted Spiller but wouldn't be surprised if Bradford did either.

Sorry, but, where is the "NONE" option? Not that I'd vote for it, but you are leaving some voters off here.

True although I voted for Bradford and would do so again. Let's seeQB and the number 1 pick so he will want and get the most money of any player ever + add unstable ownership situationSure sounds like a recipe for a hold out to me.
