Cottage cheese and tbone steak
Traditional part of every meal at upper tier steakhouses (with dark lighting, white tablecloths, wood panel walls, dark green leather half-circle booths) in the 60s and early 70s. The free appetizer twirly-tray with small gerkins, black olives, carrot and celery sticks and captain wafer crackers with ice cold pats of butter on paper squares.

Was a special night when the parents cracked open the wallet for the fancy steakhouse. I still think of those times every time I eat captain wafer crackers.

I like shredded lettuce.

I much prefer strawberry over grape jelly (really any jelly/jam over grape jelly). A lot of people still holding onto childhood memories with ####ty grape jelly. Wondering if a lot of you still cut the crusts off too.

PB&H is great.

PB&Sriracha also makes a nice sandwich (a little honey on there is nice too).

Crunchy PB, always. I'm sure all you grape jelly crust cutters only use smooth PB.

PB on both sides. Not sure why anyone ever felt the need to mix to prevent soggy bread.

:goodposting:and the twirly thing is called a Lazy Susan

if you're making a PB&J sandwich for later, then mixing them is the only way to go. Otherwise the jelly (or honey, as is my preference) soaks into the bread and totally ruins it.
Mixing PB&J before spreading? That seriously is disgusting.

How about shredded lettuce on a steak and cheese vs on a BLT?
if the steak and cheese are on a taco I'm ok with it.
So a taco with bacon, shredded lettuce and diced tomato works?
with steak and cheese? sure. Hard pressed to call it a taco without beef/chicken/fish as a component.
Carnitas down?
Doesn't carnitas mean "tiny meats"?? :oldunsure:

carnitas are the greatest of all tacos, because the pig is the tastiest of all the animals

I dunno what it means literally, but it's braised/marinated pork. Typically shredded.

Guess I should have just left it at "meat component"....and no....no veggie tacos.
I guess what I was driving at is bacon is a "meat component" and was wondering if shredded lettuce became acceptable if the "taco" was bacon, shredded lettuce and tomato (and cheese) on a taco shell.
