Which NFL Coaches are getting the boot? (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

I actually don't think there will be a lot of turnover this year. But let's go to the bottom and work our way up.

Miami Dolphins (1-13)...Cam Cameron, I think the analogy that gets tosed around about "What if Jimmy Johnson were let go after going 1-15"...is just ludicrous. THis guy went 18-37 at Indiana IIRC, and JJ won a NAtional Title in Miami plus played in 2-3 others, and he left the cupboard full for Dennis Erickson to stroll in and win 2 more titles, and he left Dallas loaded so that Barry Switzer won a SB. I hope Cam is gone. I have seen enough of him, and even yesterday with that squib kick BS, the play by play guys were beside themselves when he called that. The guy needs to go quickly.

Atlanta Falcons (3-11)...Emmitt Thomas, Interim coach, no chance he will get called back to coach the team. Boy do they miss Dan Reeves and Mora Jr too...no one could have survived the Michael Vick Hurricane but they are a mess right now and they probably need to rebuild that offense and get an identity before anything else happens.

St Louis Rams (3-11)...Scott Linehan, there are a lot of conflicting reports. i think they give him one more year but if he doesn't get them into the playoffs next year I imagine he is done. Another 0-8 start and he will be fired midseason. Not sure what Rams' fans feel about him but I am not overly impressed with him. They sign Bulger long term, bring in McMichael and Drew Bennett, I guess the OL injuries just crippled them.

New York Jets (3-11)...Eric Mangini, nope.

Baltimore Ravens (4-10)...Brian Billick, certainly has shown he has a lot of flaws lately. Losing 8 straight after a 4-2 start after a 13-3 season last year. This team needs a QB that can do the job so badly it's not even funny. They still can stop the run, they just are getting old on defense. Put a good offense on this team over the past 8 years and they probably have multiple championships. Not sure how much longer Billick can ride that SB victory. He might want to leave too, a coach with a SB win on the resume would be out of a job for all of about 5 seconds.

Oakland Radiers (4-10)...Lane Kiffin, only his 1st season, certainly gets another one.

Kansas City Chiefs (4-10)...Herm Edwards, just like in New York, he got lucky and took a so so team to the playoffs in his 1st season, so he automatically will get 2 more seasons no matter what. And he has lost a lot on the OL, but in 2 seasons what have they doen to upgrade the QB position? Their defense is at least average, they need to load up on the OL and do what they do best, run Larry Johnson into the ground.

San Fran 49ers (4-10)...Mike Nolan, he could be on the chop block. This is his 3rd season, they still are terrible, and Alex SMith which is his #1 pick when he came on board has bombed. If I owned the team I would fire Nolan and get rid of Alex Smith, start over on offense. Build around Gore as well.

Cincinnati Bengals (5-9)...Marvin Lewis, I feel like he has lost control over the team. There is enough talent there for them to do better. Somehow I doubt he gets fired though.

Chicago Bears (5-8)...Lovie Smith, not a chance in hell.

Denver Broncos (6-8)...Shanahan, nope

Philadelphia Eagles(6-8)...Andy Reid, I think he resigns after the season over. He keeps saying McNabb is his guy the rest of the season...why wouldn't he say next year too unless he knows that he won't be coming back?

Detroit Lions(6-8)...What's his name, probably not getting fired.

Carolina Panthers(6-8)...John Fox, please please please says the DeAngelo owner.

A few other interesting teams.

Washingotn Redskins (7-7)...Joe Gibbs, might be ready to get out. It doesn't look like he has much fun on the sidelines.

Dallas Cowboys (12-2)...OC-Jason Garrett, will Jerry Jones make him the highest paid assistant coach in the game to keep him long term? Wade Phillips will coach the team 2 more seasons maybe? It is the last stop for Wade and he is having a great time but he won't stay a long time.

San Diego Chargers (9-5)...Norv Turner, if they lose in the 1st round of the playoffs again, where does that put him?

Chime in

You're right That analogy is ludicrous.

Norv Turner is sticking around after this season, win or lose. I wouldn't mind seeing Nolan get fired but it would depend who the Niners would bring in to replace him.
