Which player was the best waiver wire pickup of these 4? (1 Viewer)

Our league had three of these four guys on waivers at the start of the season. We got talking last night and I wondered which guy the Shark Pool thought was the top waiver wire pickup? For the record Cam Newton was drafted, but I imagine he was on waivers in many leagues if they had the other three on this list on waivers. Figure this was pretty representative of many leagues out there (other than we do .033 return yards)

Sproles: RB3

Gronkowski: TE1 (would have been te/wr 2)

Newton: QB4

Cruz: WR5 (would have been WR3 if after first two weeks, where no one had him)

Know it all's with 20 deep rosters in 32 team leagues need not reply.

I'm sure there was a league somewhere on planet Earth where he was on waivers, right?

Must be a small league/rosters to have Gronk & Sproles on the waiver wire.

Cruz was the best waiver pick-up in a lot of leagues this year. Cam in some redrafts.

Well.....not going the way I planned but I understand why in hindsight.....those who post know more than the experts and consensus pre season ratings.

I went back and pulled from FBG consensus ratings pre season:

Newton: QB24

Sproles: RB44

Cruz: Not Rated

Gronk: TE10

12 Team/15 man roster. 180 players. Start two QB. Normally about 13 TEs, 25QBs, 40 RBs and 50 WRs drafted. I don't think it is a stretch in many leagues that at least two or more of these guys were available.

I have to think Gronk was drafted in at least 90% of 12 team mandatory TE leagues. The others I could see not having been drafted. I went with Newton for that reason.

I think BeastMode was the best FA pickup. He finished 6th or 7th in most scoring formats and scoring a TD in 10 out last 13 weeks was very consistent. Lynch helped a lot of teams to the playoffs and went off for 2 TDs in Week 13 and 16.

Lynch gets my vote

Gronk on the WW?? I drafted him as my number 1 TE. (8th rd, 10 teams)

What really sucked was i drafted Hernandez as my starting TE. I planned on taking Gronkowski with my last draft pick....wound up with Roy Freaking Williams.....why? I lost connection to the internet during last two rounds of my online draft - my pick timed out and defaulted to the list. Had I been smart I would have created a default list...I wasn't, so it didn't.

In standard 12-team leagues, only Cruz (and maybe Newton) were on the waiver wire at the start of the year.
