Which team is destined to be the next great Dynasty (1 Viewer)

I'm guessing it will be like the 00's in that no one team dominates the decade. The Patriots won the most Super Bowls, but I don't think they even win the most games in the decade.
Exactly so. The Patriots were the team of the first half of the decade, and the Steelers were the team of the second half of the decade, and the Colts were the team of the entire decade.
... Despite all that, the chronological "spread" of the Pats SB appearances gives them the best claim to the overall decade (after the 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2007 seasons), IMHO.The Colts have been a ridiculously excellent team for a long while ... having the one title almost seems (unfairly) like a huge letdown. A lot like the 1990s Atlanta Braves.
Yes. The Pats are clearly the team of the 00's. I say this as a Steeler fan, the team with the 2nd best claim to that title. NE had 2x as many SB appearances as Indy and 3x as many Championships. End of story. It's not like Indy had an abnormal advantage in the overall wins vs. NE anyway. Each team had only 1 loosing season in the decade. Indy had 115 wins and NE had 112. So 3 more wins. NE almost makes up for that in the difference is rings alone. This is no contest.
:lmao: Just what I was about to post. With all due respect to the Colts and Steelers, it's Lombardi's that define dynasties. I like what the Pats are doing to reload, but I won't give you my homer choice. The Packers/Saints/Cowboys are all good choices.I'm not buying the Jets hype either. They were 7-7 before Cincy and Indy laid down for them. They got hot and made it to the AFC Championship; which they lost. Reminds me a lot of the 00's Chargers hype machine. Everyone's sweetheart on paper, but never won any hardware.Don't get me wrong; NYJ is a good young team that looks to be on the rise, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Pats and Jets battle for the division this year, but I'm not there yet with them.

There wont be anymore dynastys.
"Everything that can be invented has been invented."-- Charles H Duell, Commissioner of US Office of Patents, 1899

This quotation is not really the words of Mr. Duell. There is a long-standing urban legend about a patent director making such a statement, and this particular version may have originated in "The Book of Facts and Fallacies" by Chris Morgan and David Langford (1981). There is no evidence that anyone in the patent office really said anything of the sort. [note by Michael Moncur, October 18, 2005]
But I agree that there will be future dynasties. They will be put together by teams who assemble a good core of people, and have several years of success and luck in adding to that core. It doesn't take much to differentiate your team from the Detroits and Oaklands of the world.

I like the Eagles.Everyone of their skill position guys are young and have flashed talent.kolbmccoymacklind-jaxcelekThats a nice fiver
I second that thought. The offense is ridiculously young. They can stay together for 5-7 seasons. We need a few good defensive drafts and this team is young and talented on both sides of the ball. We could be a force for this decade. All depends on Kolb though.

Not too mention the Colts were gifted the expansion Texans in their division. That was basically 2 free wins every year for the better part of the decade.

San Fran, Detroit?
I like the SF possibilities. Their defense is becoming very good and with a maturing Crabtree and Davis they have arial weapons to go along with Gore. Gore will need to be replaced fairly soon IMO, but that is doable with the few number of holes elsewhere.Plus I love their coach. Samurai Mike is a no-nonsense coach that th eplayers will play hard for.Give them a couple more years and they may be the cream of the NFC.

Be careful- they were saying the same thing about the 2008 Denver Broncos. Things change fast.

You need a sedative. The Dolphins had 3 SB appearances, 2 victories and the only perfect season in 72. I'm not jumping up and down yelling "we're number two".
Who's jumping up and down or yelling anything? I'm not a Colts fan, a Pats fan, or a Steelers fan. I'm a Broncos fan. To be honest, I probably like the Pats the best out of all three of those franchises (because we always beat them :excited: ). I'm just offering my opinion on who was the last great dynasty.
The thread is about who will dominate the 10's. Getting hung up about crediting the Patriots (4 AFC Championships; 3 SBs) as the team of the 00's is kind of jumping up and down.Green Bay & Dallas look they could string together a couple championships. For teams that haven't been there before, I'd like to see the Falcons, Texans or the Titans.
