Which wideouts look best rest of year? (1 Viewer)

kegger

Which of these 5 (say you had to narrow it to 3)

Would you rate best rest of year?

Laurent Robinson, Dal

Brandon Lloyd, StL

Mario Manningham, NYG

Jacoby Ford, Oak

Steve Breaston, KC

They all seem to have decent schedules, and some have better QB's..

Lloyd shouldn't even be compared to the other four. He should be a WR1 for the remainder of the season and a weekly must-start.

I would take Manningham as the second choice, with Robinson in third as long as Austin is out.

I defiantly feel.

Laurent Robinson, Dal

Brandon Lloyd, StL

but not sure on the 3rd,

I feel Manningham is solid.

But Jacoby Ford, has upside..

:goodposting:No way Lloyd is in this ballpark of WRs. Im shocked/amused that 2 of the 3 posts have Robinson over Lloyd

LloydFordRobinsonBreastonManninghamDirty little secret: Carson Palmer LOVES Jacoby Ford.
I'm on the fence between pickup up Ford or Robinson in an auction league. I'm dropping Desean Jackson to give you an idea of how I value them both. I'm leaning Robinson though. I think he's show he has value even if Austin and Dez are playing, and they have both had leg problems all year. But Ford has more upside. His upside is that of a true WR1 from here on out.

+1
Just for clarification, I didn't have Robinson Over Lloyd.I just have Robinson and Lloyd 2 of the 3 (I didn't mean I had them in any particular order)I just couldn't decide on the 3rd guy, but liked those 2.

Youre nuts if youre dropping DJax for these guys

DJax is overrated. You have to sit around and wait for him to bust a 60-yard play or you get 2 for 30 performances. I see DJax as a WR3 that you plug in as a high upside guy when you need someone.

great post - defensive coordinators have figured Jackson out - Jackson said "defenses are trying to take away our strengths" . . . DUH - what are they supposed to do??

You have to sit around and wait for VJax big games too, doesnt mean he's worth dropping for WRs would only be rostered in deep league. DJax is WR21 in my league. Robinson is WR45 and Ford aint even in the top 50. I dont care about their upside, Im not dropping DJax for them

why are stuck between these 5?
It was a group of receivers that weren't "top" guys but are mostly "gettable"in a lot of leagues and I was curious others thoughts on them from here on out.(and I thought some maybe have them grouped in a somewhat similar production)See if there were any "YAH DEFINATLY THAT GUY" in the group.Seems Lloyd is the cream of the crop(some feel to good for this group)So far it also seems Robinson is liked along with Ford and Manningham, but noreal other standouts or consensus to speak of?

If he has 3+ receivers in a short-roster redraft that are better than WR21, then he has no use for DJax. Instead, he may opt to take a high-risk, high payout gamble that Carson Palmer only has eyes for Jacoby Ford. How are you doing in your leagues this year Kenny? :boxing:

If thats the case (which I doubt) you trade DJax for a RB, TE, etc. You dont drop him for a flier that you dont need at a stacked position..Im 4-5 in both my leagues and either in a playoff spot or just outside. After some good trading on my part, Im 4-2 and 4-1 over the last 5-6 weeks in each league, so Im feeling pretty good right now. Glad youre interested, I'll try to keep you updated, PM me if I forget as it should be an interesting run for the playooffs

I wasn't suggesting dropping him, but I wouldn't want to own him. I've thought Ford was better all along in my league where I get a point for every 10 return yards. Ford's been hurt. So to compare points is just plain dumb. Plus, he has a legit QB now, a better one than DJax has.

1) If youre bringing up return yard leagues, you might as well not even respond since almost no one plays those (even here)2) Palmer is a better QB than Vick, in 2011? Cant get on board with that

Every team that is 4-5 thinks they will still make the playoffs. Is there a correlation between when you started winning some games and when you benched Ingram?

This argument makes zero sense IMO. If return yards are part of your scoring system, then this is how I would have to rate what you just said:DJax >> Ford (better QB - see next point, and a better offense) -- DJax is one of the fastest players in the NFL and can take one to the house on any KR/PR.Vick >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Retirement >>>>>>>>>>>> Palmer -- enough said.

Just for some info, there a few of us who have return yardage in our leagues.2 of my 3 leagues have return yardage used.

Sorry, KRs >>>>>>>>> PRs

And DeSean is only doing punt returns. Dion Lewis is the KR for Philly, at least when he's not crashing his car.

Even with a ~60/40 split in Oakland on KRs between Ford and Taiwan Jones (and Denarious Moore doing the PRs), the stats are not even close (returns-yardage-TDs):

Ford - 10-322-1

DJax - 9-33-0

TDs are way too rare to count on, while the free 20 yards you get on a KR is too much for any PR to overcome (save possibly Patrick Peterson).

Not really. The correlation is more trading for Cam in 1 league, and somehow turning Eli/Tebow/Holmes/Decker/Ingram/DWill/Hightower/DClark into SJax/Jennings/Witten/Lloyd/Manningham thru multiple trades in the other
