So you're home on Sunday night and you have no rooting interest in either game. Your favorite team has played and you have no fantasy players in the football game.

Which do you watch?

(I'm guessing this will be slightly skewed because this is a FFB site).

I don't undertstand why the NFL refuses to compete with MLB on SNF. After all, there is a MNF game this week.

I'd watch both, flipping back and forth.

Even though this is a FF site, most are sports fans and the World Series is simply huge. I'd probably flip, but I know for certain I'd watch the WS predominantly.

I know this isn't what the OP asked, just an interesting fact:

The regular season game between the Cowboys and Vikings had a 15.9 rating.

Game 7 of the ALCS had a 13.5.

I think football would stand up fine against the World Series if they played Sunday night and had a good match up. But NFL and MLB have a mutant respect unspoken agreement not to step on each others toes.

Both. Dual tuner Tivo. Pause one game, watch the other, ff through slow spots/commercials, then switch back to the other and repeat.

That said, football would get the majority of viewing time. I probably will be switching back and forth to something else tonight. And tomorrow night the VT-BC game will get a majority of my time.

:goodposting: They were on at different times. Im curious what rating the SNF game did vs Game 7.

Have to watch the World Series, have to if you are sports fan.
No, not really. I wish all the baseball playoff series were one game. Win and keep going; lose and go home. It should also be a 50-game season. If that was the case, it would have been over a long time ago and we wouldn't have to sit through analysts discussing it.

I'd be flipping back and forth, but to be honest, ever since the Mets swoon I've been steering clear of baseball ;)

baseball is the reason why football was invented.

other than the occasional blooper to left field, the majority of the action is players shifting their jock straps.

I no longer acknowledge the game of baseball as a professional sport. I now put it in the same category as checkers and tetherball, as something kids play on the playground.

When they implement some form of competitive balance

When they learn to make a proper schedule

When they learn to play in the rain

When they learn to play hurt

Yeah..... right..... My vote is for SNF

this might be the only time of the football season when my PiP has something other than football on one side. of course if i had to choose it'd be football, but i'd keep my eye on the series as well.

This is the right answer. Watching a single football game is annoying as hell with all the commercials.

usually, i would've picked the WS. but this year i got the MLB package. i watched about a game every other day for the 1st 4 months. by aug. 1, i couldn't take anymore baseball.

I won't watch the WS even without SNF.
I'll watch it instead of Grey's Anatomy ("Honey, I will be downstairs...") but last night, there was some docu on the Tunguska Comet / Meteor back in 1908, and you know, that was much more interesting (so I gather) than Game 1.

Whether or not the Red Sox were playing, I would still watch the World Series over SNF. SNF has dropped off significantly for me. It's very sad actually. I used to love watching football from 11am-11pm on Sundays, but I just can't stomach Collinsworth, Oberman, and the ####### queer "Football Night in America" theme music. NBC has stripped me of something very dear and they should be punished for it.

Oh they are playing baseball again?

When they canceled the world series I just assumed they went out of business like hockey.

Speakin of Sunday Night Football, I really hate the theme they use. "Been waiting all day for Sunday night". No chance NBC, Ive been sitting on my ### eating and drinking since 1:00 watching football, and saw a full days worth of action already. Ill be falling asleep by halftime.

Why NBC didnt want the Monday nighter is beyond me.

Wonder how this would have been answered over at baseballguys.com?
They won't be able to give a answer until they perform a statistical analysis, talk about the good ole days when people other than them gave a crap about their lame game and then differentiated between the similarities of the steroid era and professional wrestling and then they would have a percentage shot of watching the game but that is barring the possibility that it isn't canceled again. Because you know the world series is so awesome that they sometimes they just don't have it because you know it doesn't matter. Then they would stab themselves to death with the golf pencil they were using to score the game by hand.

When they implement some form of competitive balance
Ill take this one.Final 4 this year:

Boston

COLORADO

ARIZONA

CLEVELAND
Ahhhhh....... that means salary cap jackass. I don't want my team of scrubs to need to play perfect vs. Goliath to have a shot. For the record - BoSox are the 2nd highest paid team in 2007 ($142million)

......and there are 3 other legitimate concerns on my first post you ignored to make your lame point that anyone can win. You don't need to tell me that...... I live in Miami. I've seen the direct effects of $ vs. W/L in baseball up close.

I would watch a "How To Build Wealth Through Real Estate" or Bowflex infomercial before I would watch game 7 of the world series.
