White Sox 2011 Baseball (3 Viewers)

Juan Pierre is hitting the #### out of the ball lately. In the interview after the game on Comcast they handed him the cross town trophy and he was just like "um cool."

These past two games are what we want to see- offense, execution, starting pitching, solid bullpen work and a confidence to come from behind. The Sox have to take care of business on teams they can beat. July is the critical month. If they play half ###- they are done. If they continue to ramp up and remove mistakes they will take over first place and pad a lead. First things first- take 2 of 3 or sweep the Cubs. 2 of 3 is the probable outcome if both teams play to their potential. The Cubs can score runs but the Sox are still suffering from an inconsistent offense.

I'll be at the game tomorrow and the Sox always lose when I go. Hope the brooms can come out though! Just heard Ozzie say on the score Dunn will probably start tomorrow...for Konerko.

bases loaded, no outs in the bottom of the 6th

Morel popped out to 1st

Dunn walked

Konerko struck out

Quentin popped out

great stuff guys.

After watching Rodrigo Lopez shutting out the Sox and now Chen pitching so well, I am just wondering if the Sox are usually horrible against softball pitchers?

That was just about as bad a start to the 19-game division stretch as could have been imagined. But for Dunn's performance Monday, it would have been 0-3 at home. This team bites the big one.

I have always been a Cub fan and never a Sox fan but I never hated them. I didn't enjoy their title since I didn't follow or cheer them. If I decide to become a dual Chicago baseball fan just because I can't think why I wouldn't, what would you Sox fans say to me?

This team sucks. Sorry but don't expect anything. Don't think that they are just going to suddenly get it together and kill the league. 7-13 in the division and under .500 at home. That is just pathetic.

We have pointed out players at fault and a lack of a solid strategic plan from upper management. They keep the fans interested by telling us that they are right in the thick of the division. I said it two months ago and I stand firm- this team is far far far from being a MLB playoff contender.

The sweep on the Red Sox was just fool's gold and a big tease. These White Sox are who we thought they were and now we are stuck with Dunn for two more years. Dunn, Rios, Teahan, Morel and now Peavey are all starting to prove that they are just average to bad players. Sorry- but Q is not an all-star and looking at Ramirez call himself safe and stare down umps that call strikes that he does not think are strikes is quite sad. 3rd base? Need I say more? Sorting out the bullpen DURING the season?

This is the MAJOR LEAGUES and for a fan to sit and watch the strikeouts and the lousy offensive struggles is just mind boggling. They should have been swept by KC. If it wasn't for 4th of July fireworks it would have been a sweep. They score runs on balks and bases loaded walks and we are supposed to beleive that this team is "coming out of an offensive slump"? What a crock. If this team is going to prove anything to me- they will sweep or take 3 of 4 at home from a Twins team that spanks them at will. The Twins? Summer is too short to waste my time watching them steal bases all day and watching these glorious Sox power hitters strike out and pop up. Sad season...

Ha what can we say? Both of our teams are just lame. I think that most of us just want to see some winning baseball. If you like baseball- you can certainly see it all w two teams in one city. If you want to see winning baseball- well Chicago might not be the place.

Of course I would want to see my team(s) win. But that isn't what it is really all about. I am just starting to think why not just enjoy them both since they are on all the time. However, I assume fans of both sides won't get it. I think I will have to lie and say I was always fans of both teams since many Sox fans will say I was just tired of the Cubs losing. As for Cubs fans, they will just talk about the neighborhood and lack of mystic on the South Side blah blah. It could get annoying. I will just have to own it and maybe it would turn into fun to always have a split shirt/hat assuming I don't get assaulted.

Doubt that you will get assaulted. I think that fans that get into fights over a game are just violent people at heart which is quite sad but if you just hang out and watch games and refrain from getting into arguements with opposing fans you will have a good time. I do have a deep seated need to see the Sox win and win it all. There were just so many years of losing and frustration to accept anything else. Watching players like Tom Seaver, Chet Lemon, **** Allen, Wayne Nordhagen, Eric Soderholm, Bobby Thigpen, Ozzie Guillen, Jose Cruz, Black Jack McDowell, Carlton Fisk, Lamarr Hoyt, Robin Ventura, Rudy Law, Vance law, Wilbur Wood, Bo Jackson and many many many good players in the organization never win it all was tough but we just loved going to the games. However, the losing seasons started to get old. Watching the Sox win it all was a great acheivement because as a fan you watched them and you were just waiting for the knock out punch. That punch always came along in the playoffs but we were dishing out the plays, the timely hits, the awesome starting pitching and the eventual WS title. To think, Chicago has 1 WS title in over 180 years of combined baseball. That is just brutal. Back in the 70s and 80s it was just fun to hit the ballpark because it was like a circus atmosphere- the smell of the park, cotton candy and the old guys smoking their cigars and the smell of fresh beer being cracked open. The real exploding scroreboard and double headers for less than 3 bucks for a bleacher seat. Now- it is so expensive that winning to me is the only option.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!That alone could prevent me from embracing the Sox. I am not giving up on the Cubs. Like Power's list of Sox players, I have seen to many good Cubs fail to give up on them. Too many great memories. This is despite them losing for the fist 10 or so Cubs games I ever attended. Gladly, they are making up for it now. Since my return to Chicago last year, two years ago they have gone like 9-2 in games I have attended. Was thinking of "Why hate" or something similar on the shirt? I just don't have hate in me (except for a certain family member).

Somehow the Nats managed to avoid Bad Adam Dunn for the most part, but the D'Backs and Reds can tell you a little.Good Adam will return when you need it the least.

Hey- you can get cheap eats, cheap tickets and have your option of games to attend now that the Sox and Yankees are gone. Plus- the Cubs do have some good young talent that is worth checking out for the discounted rate.

He fits in well w this Sox team- when they stink and are way out of contention- they pad individual stats beating up on other teams farm system pitchers when the rosters expand.

If the twinkies sweep, is Ozzie still in the dug out after the break? Kenny is looking for a way to cut the cord and this may be the out he is waiting for.....

I say that the wheels will come off but that the team will try to attempt damage control with the fans via the same rhetoric that we have been hearing all year long. The Sox are not going to keep pace with the Twins offense unless they can score more runs- a very tall order. This is a sad and pathetic offensive unit- a composite of underacheiving vets and minor leaguers that are not ready for the prime time. The Twins are going to play solid baseball- hit, run, steal, get solid pitching, timely hitting and play solid defense. The Sox are going to wallow around like bored house wives as they fumble away games with their typical inconsistencies- bad offense, lack of execution, striking out left and right, dumb base running, leaving runners on base, blowing opportunities and MOST importantly- being incapable of coming from behind. Sure- the Sox will get some good starting pitching, but that usually means one bad inning and that one bad inning will mean- no offense and a loss. I hardly see any way that this could be any different but this is professional sports in America so anything can happen. If the Twins take 3 of 4 or sweep, we will hear about how there is a lot of baseball to be played as if this underacheiving unit is going to turn it around.

couldn't have said it any better, that's why something needs to change because the team they trot out there is pathetic and impossible to watch. I have been to (4) games all before June and refused to go back. Had tix for Grinder fest and said no thanks, and can no longer watch but an inning or two on the tube. I can no longer take the lame excuses about how weak the division is and the ship will be righted.

Yeah...I don't think Mauer is going to have many problems adjusting to 1B.

Meanwhile Dunn continues to be the sultan of SUCK! Why he still hits 4th in the lineup, nobody knows.

5 run handicap- they better not blow this one or I will be wearing my wives evening gowns a la Corp Klinger bucking for a section 8 to be removed from the All In squad...

By far the most detestable Sox team that I have ever seen! Give me PK, AJ, Q, MB and you can send the rest out of town. What an absolute joke. This team is on the way to a last place finish. MARK IT DOWN!

Well... At least you have an excuse for this behavior now.
LOL- well Limp- it will be nothing but silly humor from here on out. Watching The 3 Stooges in Outer Space is more entertaining than watching Kenny's Kreme Puffs...
