Yep. The hitting has been the big issue over the past 3 years or so. Their slow starts and dry spells have really cost them. Of course the second half meltdown of our bullpen over that same time period is also questionable.

I agree. They go through streaks on offense where they look like world beaters. Or when the bullpen fails the offense is hot, or when the starting pitching is on the offense goes cold. Same story....different year.Of course they just lose in a game they probably should have won right now at Seattle. ####.

Another thing to scratch off of the Power Monster complaint list. Since the money looks to not matter here, the Sox really lost very little in this deal.Poreda hasn't seen the bigs since the Padres gave him a look in '09 right after the trade. He's currently dwelling in AAA with a 4.00 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. Last year his WHIP was 1.76 
Adam Russell is already out of the Padres org and is pitching mop-up duty for TBR and doing nothing worth noting.Looks like Dexter Carter was released by the Padres after a real bad 2010 minor league seasonClayton Richard's been decent at best. A 14-9 record (3.75 ERA / 1.40 WHIP) last year who's numbers were inflated because of the park he pitches in. His road splits were terrible outside of his record of 8-3 (4.41 ERA / 1.61 WHIP)This year's he's 1-3 (3.55 ERA / 1.34 WHIP) and valuing at a -0.1 WARAnd lets not forget that Peavy still has an opportunity to contribute this year as his DL stint is nearing an end.Kenny Williams just extended his lead as the best GM in the history of Chicago baseball.Does it matter if they still have to go to the bullpen?

Hard to argue facts and just like my "complaints"- things have a tendancy to shake down for better or worse. In other words- Gordie might contribute to the team by hitting .300 or better during the course of the remainder of the season or the defense might just tighten up. Perhaps, the team might be able to figure out how to beat the Twins etc etc...
With that in mind- what was the contribution by Peavy in 2010 and thus far in 2011? Granted- Peavey "might" make a contribution this year but all in all your proofs on the players moved to SD just prove to me that there was mediocre talent all along. Where did these average players come from? Someone had to evalute them and plug them into the system. Does GM of the history of baseball have any accountability in your world?
The bottom line is winning in the season first to get in position to winning hardware. You don't win hardware- you are an after thought. A runner up and a has been holds nothing in the trophy case. You can dig deep and get as granular as you want. I will take the championships...

WoW! John Danks the wonder boy that Limp was bragging on and on about is really tearing it up this year. Maybe Jake can stay healthy so Danks can go to triple A and learn how to be a major league starter....

Are you really going back to 2008 for ammo? Because that's the last time I can find me 'bragging on and on' about John Danks. I mentioned that he had a good outing here and there as they happened, but bragging about him? C'mon, you're not better than that. And in 2008, he was worth bragging about. Was 12-9 that year, won the play-in game in ace like fashion and had great peripherals. 2009-2010 he was an above average pitcher (28-22, 3.75 ERA, sub 1.25 WHIP). For those that are new to this baseball thing, like yourself, those are pretty damn good numbers for an American League pitcher that throws half of his games in a hitters park. This year he's regressed. But he hasn't performed as poorly as his 0-6 record shows.

Laughable- new to the baseball thing? No- for those new to the White Sox thing- get on board- winning is everything and winning means winning it all. GMs get a window to get it right. 2011 is looking like a loser- number 6 in a row for your poster boy. Have fun watching baseball (alas- hot dogs, beers, sun and fun) but at least you got one thing right Limp- you got off that Cubbie train wreck...

Great AB by AJP in the 9th to make it a one run game. Just missed a 2B down the left field line by 2-3 inches. Then pokes one up the middle to score a run.

Logic? I am engaging with a guy that was a life long Cubs fan, makes the baseball fan epic band wagon jump and tosses around WSCR radio stats. In big business- big business boys have to be held accountable for failure. "All In" to me means- winning it all. You win 1 in 94 years- well that is a train wreck. Sorry there Limp- no bandwagon jumping for me. I despise the Yankees but I cannot argue with their success. They seem to know how to win in bunches with a nucleus of solid players. Kenny? Thought he looked good- on the road, 1st start and seemed to be just letting it fly. This team needs a leader that can get the ball and put some fire in the belly of the team.Big question here is- can a 6 man rotation work?Also- can we take a series from this Oakland team- they seem like they beat the Sox more than I care to see.

Going 6-3 on the road trip out west is ####### awesome. This was a pretty big test imo and could prove to be a big turning point.Beckham and Pierre have to start hitting. Pierre is killing me, picked off , hit into two double plays and left another runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs. Looks like they have no other candidate for lead-off , except maybe this may sound crazy, let's try Rios. Bring up Tank to play right and move Q back to left.
