White Sox 2011 Baseball (3 Viewers)

Since Limp ditka seems to want to post in the Tigers thread every time a Tigers starter has a bad outing, I'm going to run up in this mother####er every time this piece of #### team can't move a runner from second to third with no one out, and every time Adam Dunn strikes out. Expect 4000 posts by the end of September. :bye:
:D

Charlotte WS owning the MLB
:goodposting:The barrenness of the White Sox minor league system has been greatly exaggerated
Ohhh gee beating up on Seattle and the Twins- two of the lamest teams in MLB and now the farm system is just great? What about calling up these great players when the fans screamed long into the night for them? I will tell you why- because your great GM is a freaking moron!

Ok, I was never gonna do this but come on...I mean he's historically awful. Even Joe Nathan is throwing stuff by him. Oh and to make it up to you guys I have a story.

A friend of mine has a friend who runs a bar in Baltimore. Anyway Dunn and Jake Peavy were out after the ballgame drinking and raising hell. At one point Peavy asked one of the male staff members if the staff member could give him a hand job in the parking lot after he got off work. He did it for shock value and apparently him and Dunn walked out of there with like five chicks. I thought it was a good story.

Also Paul Konerko is severely underrated.

Manager Ozzie Guillen quipped that Alex Rios swung the bat very well in the dugout after showing his frustration following a called third strike in the sixth inning Wednesday of the White Sox's 7-6 loss to the Twins.
Funny stuff.

The best of kenny Williams was on display yesterday- Peavey, Dunn and Rios. The only thing left now is for the great Kenny to fall on his sword but my prediction is that he will not honor that and Ozzie will be gone. Ozzie is going to blow off that job because of the idiocy that Kenny has brought to this team since Ozzie ball brought a WS to Chicago. What a shame and what a sham!

Didn't they win it all with the players kenny supplied, our was it ozzie ball? sox fans loved the acquisitions of all three of their "dead money" players. Rios is a two time allstar, who brought his gold glove to center field.Peavy was more than welcomed by the sox fansDunn was a huge pickup, may thought he would hit 50+ in the cellYou blame kenny now? All three of these players were wanted by sox nation, but now you want to blame kenny for their poor play? Ozzie should have been gone a long time ago (they don't need the drama)

Your efforts to use logic are a lost cause. No one in the baseball world bashed any of these moves except for Rios. The fact that they didn't work out doesn't make them bad moves. Most thought the Dunn move was great and many labeled the White Sox the AL Central favorites before the ink was dry. No one, including the smarter than everyone Power Monster, could have imagined Dunn falling on his face like this. It's inconceivable what's happened to him after 7 years of being one of the most consistent players in baseball. Most thought the Peavy move was good, some wondered about the money involved. As I detailed earlier in the thread, the Peavy contract is insured to the Ts, so the money is not of concern. No one in the world could have predicted Peavy to have the Lat injury that no other baseball player has ever suffered. The fact that he's pitching at all is a pleasant surprise. Nothing but time and money has been lost unless you're worried about the potential of Clayton Richard.KW gambled and, as of now, he lost. Even with those 3 busts, and Morel and Beckham not producing, he's put together a team that's above .500 going into September.Think about this one... in one of my points leagues, heavy on OPS, Rios, Dunn and Morel are 2nd / 3rd / 4th worst among points per plate appearances for all batters with 300 or more ABs. Only Paul Janish has been worse. And this team is still over .500 in spite of Ozzie rubbing #### in KWs face by doing stuff like hitting Rios cleanup the past week and pinch hitting Dunn in the 9th yesterday. Even with Peavy dragging them down, I heard on the radio the other day that White Sox pitching staff has the lowest ERA in the AL since around the 7th of May.There's lots of good going on. The pitching matches up with anyone in the ALDe Aza looks to be a great scrap heap findFlowers looks to be the future at CLillibridge has become a great utility guyViciedo's a middle of the lineup bat for years to come.Morel is a fantastic glove at 3B. If he can mature like Crede did....Power Monster only sees the bad because he thinks the team should be hoisting trophies at the end of every year. He's as crazy as his list of prescription medications is long.

I blame Kenny now? I have been jumping on Kenny for about 5 years now. He gambles way too much and he has gotten burned. Sox nation wanted Rios? I did not want anything to do with Rios or Dunn. Jake came in as damaged goods. Griff Junior and Manny? Are you kidding me? And then this year's utter disaster? I prefer the game that the manager wants to play and this is what brought a WS. When Kenny and Ozzie played well in the sand box- Kenny grabbed the players that Ozzie needed and then rolled the dice with some fillers and a great pitching staff. Now- they just despise each other and it is clear that Kenny dropped the ball with the players that Ozzie refuses to take out of the lineup. The job of a GM is to provide the organization with the best players to win it all. Not just a winning record. The failure will not only be this year but it will carry into 2012. Regardless of what you think of Ozzie- Kenny needs to go first and foremost.

A whole lot of good coming from this season? Keep reaching for reasons. This team and this year has been nothing but a drastic failure. You have been running your mouth for 4 years maybe 5 years now in defense of a GM that has failed to bring another championship to Chicago. You see- you still have dumb Cub blue running in your veins. Once again and for the last time- no one remembers 3rd, 4th or 5th place. The goal of being ALL IN was to win it all. Your boy dropped the ball and admitted it himself. Time to fall on the sword. You can pull out your little stats and try to bend this crappy season into something of substance. The fact that you even try to sell me on this team being over .500 is a joke. They have been lousy at home all year and they are quite average in the division. They cannot come from behind and they went into the season without a game plan in the bullpen and it cost them dearly. Yesterday afternoon- you saw the future of the Chicago White Sox- two bums and a guy with a bum arm. I never wanted Rios and the Blue Jays were just tickled pink when the dummy grabbed him. There are many many bad moves that he made- Griff Junior and Manny come to mind. It's time for him to go. He should have been gone a long time ago.And as far as your little kiddie comments and your queer little remarks- you really don't have much to offer with your tactics do you? You always seem to take any comment toward this stooge Williams to heart? The issue with you is- you just hate being wrong? Well- I told you 4 years ago that this chump needed to go and look at what has happened- a whole lot of nothing and now a whole lot of money tied up in losers.

I was high on Rios. :bag: The guy used to rake with the Jays. I was also pretty high on Peavey if he could stay healthy after they got him (look how thats turned out). I never really liked the Dunn deal though. But I agree, Ozzie shouldn't have to take all the heat for how tremendously bad Dunn and Rios are. It was Kenny that went out and signed/picked up these guys huge contracts.

Verlander vs. Danks- Uber Stud vs. Potential stud. This is the game and weekend that will seriously tell the tale. Even if the WS somehow won it all- the Ozzie/Kenny show has to come to an end.

Hmmmm Danks the stud- 4 hits 3 runs in the first inning. Not exactly the results that you are looking for on the road vs a real stud.

This is for that weasel Limp Ditka- your stud boy's pitching line 4.2 innings 9 hits 8 ER. Could not even last into the 5th. He is such a stud and Kenny Willaims with his two playoff appearances is an awesome GM. You talk a lot of trash but the results are the same. Limp indeed...

Please put me on ignore. I'm tired of your crap. And those 8ERs.... Thank that worthless manager for 2 of them. He should have been pulled.

Now it is the manager's fault. Rich indeed. The excuses are incredible. Some season Danks will put it all together but it is starting to become painfully obvious that he cannot handle going deep into games nor deep into the season. 6-10 but you declare him a stud. Fine. This season was doomed in April. If you look at the last three seasons- what were the key moves Kenny made to enhance the team's chances of making the playoffs- Griff Jr., Manny and then he cut payroll on two players. Teahen never really was worth the big bucks that Kenny paid him. Just more reasons why he lost touch. There was a nice battle royale on WSCR yesterday in which a Sox beat writer made a strong case for why this team has failed to make it into the playoffs and the utter dismal season of 2011. He made some strong points on what the real root cause of the issue is- Kenny Williams. Said Kenny went Hollywood and the whole World series title went to his head. Kenny has always been an arrogant punk. Def Jam...You know Limp- ignore works both ways there guy. I choose not to put you on ignore- after all- you were the guy that jumped my train many seasons ago defending Kenny but look at the results after the WS title. One losing playoff series since 2005. The payroll has gone through the roof, the seats are empty, the excuses are rich and the GM is going to fall on his sword. But you? Nothing left in the tank but to tell me that a guy that is 6-10 is a stud and then take shots at me in the Detroit thread. You want goodness from this team, PK, MB, DV, CS, SS, AJ, PH and JP who did turn his season around much to his credit. I can recall your strong points about the great Omar Vizquel. How would you rate his season now? He seems to be the one player that held up those awesome minor league prospects. Too little too late but now we get to see the GM fall on the sword. You know what that will look like? Jerry will probably push him up into a cushy executive position. It is interesting to note that Kenny actually hired Ozzie so I guess that must have been another great move by Kenny based on how you feel about Ozzie. Regardless- Kenny will be here for a long time and the team will probably trade Ozzie to the Marlins. The results of yet another failed campaign...

Why can't you respond to the baseball conversation there Limp? What you got left in yer tank Limp? Yer running on empty again so now the conversation is going to spiral towards insults and attacks? I am not going to tolerate yer BS but at the same time I am not going to clutter the boards with yer hissy fits. The problem with debating a fool- pretty soon you just don't know who the fool is. Enjoy yer holiday weekend Limp...

As a Tiger fan, I was jealous of the Peavy and Dunn moves. They didn't pan out, but that's always the risk you take. I would rather have Ozzie than Leyland, too, fwiw.

I'm sorry, there was baseball conversation going on in the post I responded too? I guess you're right, I do have a problem with debating a fool. And maybe the problem on the South Side is a little higher up the ladder......

from today's Sun Times

DETROIT — The frustration stemming from the shortage of production from Adam Dunn, Alex Rios and Gordon Beckham recently reached a boiling point between general manager Ken Williams and hitting coach Greg Walker.

Walker took issue with Williams’ comments about Beckham’s swing, and after he and Williams exchanged heated words in the tunnel leading to the Sox clubhouse at U.S. Cellular Field, Williams told Walker to clean out his locker, a source said.

When chairman Jerry Reinsdorf was made aware of what happened, things were smoothed over.
Kenny's as good as gone. Walker should have been canned years ago. If the man had an ounce of pride, he would have walked once Jerry trumped him.

I think Ozzie's probably a little bit better manager than Leyland, but he's such an ###hole that I want him nowhere near the Tigers.

i don't get #######, i get no filtered honesty.

For Limpy only: I hope that the White Sux plan to roll over and play dead for us this week like you did for the Tigers. I demand equal treatment!!!

The rest of you CWS fans: Sorry you couldn't bring the Tigers back to the pack.

Sorry guys, can't believe Leyland went for two after both TDs.
Enjoy your 4 playoff games
Hilarious, this is what all the Sux fans on CBS were saying last two days as the craptacular team you fielded this year melted down in front of our very eyes. What game did you like better? Losing after going up 8-1 on Saturday or the nail-biter last night?
Hilarious that you needed this weekends game to determine if you were all in on the Tigers to win the DIVISION. :lmao:

You must have missed them melting down in April, May, June, July, and August... nobody is surprised except for you I guess? And to answer your original question, I didn't spend a minute watching any of this garbage. :bye:

It was nice not witnessing the death blows first hand.Hope it's a trail of dead on Bill Veeck Drive come October 1st. Ozzie, Kenny, everyone outside of Coop can go die for all I care.

Given 2006 and 2009, I'm still not all in. Just saying that for appearances. White Sux could have been 2.5 games out after the weekend, it was a huge series. And yes I've followed the complaints of this team, just like the complaints of the Tigers. I know your pain, it's every year for us usually.

If it was going to happen, the WS losing this series, it couldn't have happened in a better fashion.Getting blown out and looking horrid while doing so should bring even the most optimistic fans back down to Earth. For most of us in this thread, I think we've become immune.... but I should probably only speak for myself.

I read some stuff this weekend saying the WS have essentially turned into the Cubs with all of the awful contracts they have for the next few years.Kind of funny but at the same time sort of true? I'm not down on KW as much as others, i think he has made his fair share of good moves (to go along with the bad) but he is never one to sit on his hands. I can appreciate a GM who goes balls out near the trade deadline. I was hoping he would have blown up this ####show this year, but getting rid of Jackson was a bad move IMO if you were considered neutral/buyer.I'm kind of sick of Ozzie, I've always given him the benefit of the doubt but his in game decision making this year leaves a lot to be desired. I've never considered him a great manager, but I always thought he was capable of managing his players both in the clubhouse and out on the field. Should be interesting to see what happens this offseason.

Like I said before, there's a lot of good with what Kenny has done. He's put together one of the better pitching staffs in the AL. Got Konerko to stay, Flowers, De Aza, Lillibridge are all looking like good acquisitions. But there's plenty of bad too.Out of 116 AL players with at least 250 PAs, here are some of the White Sox ratings in terms of WARDunn - 116thRios - 114thPierre - 105thMorel - 103rdooooofOnce I read that Jerry trumped Kenny about canning Walker, I just became resigned to the fact that Kenny's gone. After that reality hit, I realized that I really don't care. Dunn, Rios contracts are going to be, and should be too much for him to survive. If I read that situation wrong, and he's back. I certainly won't be complaining. But If Ozzie comes out of this season still managing this team, I'll be irate.
