Ozzie never gave him much of a chance. His defense was a little shaky and Uribe did make some nice plays and is started to look at pitches. It may be time to move Fields.Been out of town since the end of July and haven't gotten to watch or hear much Sox news. So is Fields bad now or whats the deal with that? From what I've been reading it doesn't sound like hes made any progress.
Well, you guys had your chance. If the Sox beat Beckett tonight, I will be an optimist for the rest of the season, mostly for MAC-32 and Widbil.![]()

Yeah. From what I read he really never took advantage when he was given a chance. I hear the same things about Ozzie never giving BA a chance. The fact is they have to make the most of their chances. Looks at Rameriz, the guy never saw a major league pitch in his life and he made the most out of his chances.BlueDemon said:Ozzie never gave him much of a chance. Maybe, but with the Twins losing Cuddyer and a long stretch of road games this month I like the Sox changes. I know it's only KC but Javy looked awesome last night, 10 k's. Danks continues to be the ace. I'll take my chances with this rotation come playoffs.Buehrle, Danks, Vesquez and Floyd. That 3 game series in September is starting to loom very large!Vladislav Tretiak said:Delmon Young with a 3 run homer off of Rivera and Jeter comes out of the game!Let's go TwinsGreen94 said:Javy looking like an ace... watching them pitch the last few starts the ERA is a little deceiving. Outside of one bad buerhle outing and the Richards games I like what I saw. We are in every game but the pen , mainly Logan and Dotel have been brutal. Just sayin.
I hope we can swing it with the 4 man rotation. If we need a long inning guy in case a starter gets hammered it will be critical that he is efficient. Our road games are going to be huge as well and that is why we have to feast on KC, Detroit and Cleveland.watching them pitch the last few starts the ERA is a little deceiving. Yeah, they've been pretty bad for about the last 18 years.WOW I didn't realize just how bad KC was/is.

:IBTL:I ####### hate Dotel.
I still ####### ahte Dotel.I don't usually get mad, but that ####### pissed me off. Dotel=2nd coming of MacDougal.
Dotel sucks. Game over.
don't worry....we'll find a way to #### this game up today. i hope Ozzie let em have it after the game. that was ####### pathetic.Going to the bar, things could get ugly here later. Sorry in advance.

Feel like ####! Danks pitched well and got out of trouble a few times but what do you know, the Twinkies won again.Need Javy today.urbanhack said:update?Going to the bar, things could get ugly here later. Sorry in advance.
Cruzing along here.Who is this group? That's the problem I have with him not being clear on his position. Well, one of the problems. What's sticking with me is he knows what his personal stance is on the subject and didn't express it for political reasons. I have an issue with that.He didn't completely dodge the abortion issue. He was general, and he expanded on his stance on abortion with his following comments. He dodged defining something that many people disagree about, as he doesn't feel like he has any supreme knowledge that makes him qualified to decide when life and rights begin. That's fine. He wants to work with people who disagree on the issue. He doesn't have to make a decision....just take a position. The repubs are going to have a field day with this. Probably be just as annoying as the Rev Wright situation. Problem is, he, as a leader of this country should be prepared to make a decision on this whether or not he feels like he's qualified. I would have been fine with him saying that in general he's xxx on the issue but sometimes he can see the need for it or that it's applied incorrectly. To completely dodge it was disappointing to me.And you and I both know this isn't an acceptable or realistic answer in today's world. I found the response to be as irresponsible as McCain's "in the 21st century..." comments. I was disappointed in Obama's answer here.I just heard it. It was about specifically defining when babies get human rights. He was basically saying that he's not able to answer that question absolutely, but would rather work with people of various views to compromise.Did Obama seriously answer a question about abortion by saying "that's above my pay grade"? I missed this last night but heard about that comment. I know it's a tough issue, but geesh. Not sure that you get to defer those kind of decisions if you're the President."Mr. President, we have this abortion bill on your desk. You need to either sign it into law or veto it."IvanKaramazov said:I had no idea that Rick Warren was holding a nationally-televised forum featuring Obama and McCain until about 75 minutes ago when I was randomly channel-surfing while my wife hogged the computer.
Having finished watching Obama's interview, I thought he did an extremely good job handling some pretty good questions. I think even his supporters would acknowledge that he struggled with the "abortion" question, but he's walking a minefield on that I suppose that's understandable. Otherwise, I thought his answers were generally pretty strong, approaching masterful once he got past the abortion issue. This was definitely the "good" Obama on display, the guy that makes people such as me, who deeply dislike his worldview, like and respect Obama anyway.
Very nicely done IMO.
"Uh, this is above my pay grade, so I'm just going to go ahead and forward it to God's desk."His point was that he's not qualified enough to make that decision. I don't think anyone is.
But you're probably right that the other side will harass him about this, but not taking a stand on an issue so uncertain is a good thing, not a bad one. His choice of words might have been bad, but his content was pretty good.
