Who are you most looking forward to see how they do week 1? (2 Viewers)

Footballguy
These are the guys I'm tied to and really curious how they look and are used week 1.

Fields- really hoping the passing is better than the chatter we have been hearing from camp
Deebo- with Terry getting up to speed, looking forward to see how Deebo looks
KW3- does he get the majority of RB touches and take off in the Kubiak system
Miller- does he look good and carve out a role splitting the rushing load with Kamara
Waddle- does his time spent with Tua while Hill has been out increase his target share

Lots of options. Obviously any of the rookies. Besides that, probably Sam Darnold. Who is he for real? Did he learn how to play QB better or was it all because of the coach last year? Thats what I want to find out.

Who am I least excited to watch? Russell Wilson. I've seen enough of him.

QB: Lawrence with new coaching, JJ
RB: Walker/Charbonnet, Harvey/Dobbins
WR: Nabers and his toe, Chicago WR's
TE: Kraft Does he take the leap

In general, my Lions and their new coordinators.

All of the storylines this offseason that affected my draft, some of these are repeats from above:

Ben Johnson effect - Does Chicago passing game show any spark and does Detroit offense slow down? Caleb, DJ Moore, Odunze, Swift, Gibbs, Montgomery, ARSB, Goff

Liam Coen effect - Same for Tampa Bay and Jacksonville. For Tampa Bay, how about not having Godwin to start the season? Egbuka, Baker, Evans, Lawrence, Thomas, Hunter

Young Receivers: 2024 class of Nabers, Thomas and McConkey stepped up. The next tier of Worthy, Harrison, Odunze, Pearsall, Coleman could be stepping up. At least two of the 2025 class poised for big things right off the bat and will be given the opportunity to do so in Tet, Hunter, Golden and Egbuka.

CMC.

Pittsburgh, implode or not? Rodgers + Tomlins feels like not a good match to me.

The trainwrecks at QB in Cleveland and Indy.

Kyler Murray's final year as a perceived potentially great QB? Or as mediocre as he has been in NFL good, not fantasy good.

Who is the real Slim Shady, 2023 CJ Stroud or the 2024 version?

Rooting for Justin Fields to have a decent season for no other reason than I enjoy watching him play even if he is not very good for actually winning NFL games.

Teslaa has been moving up the board and curious to see how the lions use him. This year's Puca?

Guys I am a lot higher than consensus on, who I think could break mold as early as week 1...

Jacobs
London
Evans
Harvey
Samuel
Coleman
Mims (groiny groin, ugh)
Tillman
Coker
Benson
Geno
Rattler

Titans fan so this is easily Cam.

Others:
already mentioned and he is my QB in my main league, Penix. Can he make Landon into a truly elite receiver? Bijan and pitts can make the falcons super interesting.

What’s going on with the jets running back room? I have Breece but accept that he could barely be a flex starter.

Does Rodgers have anything left? Same for Flacco, Stafford.

Does Barkley get more rest early?

How good is the packers D now?

Lions - watching for any drop do to the coordinators.

If Trevor doesn’t get his stuff together this year he probably never will.

Saints vs colts for the top pick, with Archie possibly the prize.

Tesla has been moving up the board and curious to see how the lions use him. This year's Puca?
He looks great but hard to see a path towards a rookie year like Puka had. Puka was competing with an injured Cooper Kupp and a bunch of guys who are fringe NFL talents. Teslaa has Pro Bowl quality pass catchers at every level of the offense to compete with.
Yeah, does any other team (other than Philly) have the established talent comparable to st brown, Jameson, Laporta and Gibbs?

This is good - I'm with you on both ends of the barbell too. I'm hoping Darnold is for real because I've made some key investments in JSN and would love to see him surpass 100 receptions. That's a guy along with Darnold that I'm excited to watch this year.

Russell Wilson is like the song "Blinded by the Light". It's fine. But I never need to hear it ever again for the rest of my life.

Yep and Montgomery is no slouch for a team's 5th offensive weapon.

The only answer has to be to watch the total domination that Bill will bestow on the NFL the likes nobody has ever seen before.

(Real answer is JJM and is he going to be the answer for Minny)

I was just thinking of receiving tools but yeah

Here are 10:

Treyveon Henderson-will he be as dynamic now that the real games are here.

Tyler Warren-LaPorta then Bowers...is Warren (or Loveland) the next rookie TE to make a serious impact.

Braelon Allen-will the performance equal the hype.

Bryce Young-can he show us that we don't have to worry about him anymore.

Josh Palmer-can he be a legit fantasy threat.

Ollie Gordon-The opportunity is there.

Woody Marks-can he be a legit fantasy RB.

Pat Bryant-Colson part 2?

Jordan Mason-can he solidify that he can be a #2 fantasy RB?

Marvin Harrison-is he what we thought he would be this time last year?

Drake London-does he make the jump to elite?

These rookies -
Henderson
Hampton (and what role Najee has, if any)
Harvey
Hunter
Egbuka
Golden
Warren

Bears offense - Caleb and his WR/TEs

Lions offense - Gibbs, Jamo, Teslaa

Bo Nix

JJ McCarthy

Jordan Love - Was he hurt more than we knew last year? He didn't dazzle me the way he did in parts of 2023. What even is he? I'd love to see improvement here and see if the ceiling is higher for him than currently think (group think).
Travis Hunter in IDP Leagues - In one of the IDP leagues I run, Hunter is listed as a WR only, so the owner will have to use him there. However, offensive skill players CAN earn IDP points and things like INTs or defensive TDs scored are massive points. Are we looking at the next great fantasy unicorn? Curious how other IDP leagues are treating this.
Abdul Carter - If the hype is anything close to what we're about to witness, this guy could be the most exciting rookie pass rusher to come on the scene since Javon Kearse, who had 14.5 sacks his rookie year. And Carter gets to play with Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodaux, so Carter could be an absolute wrecking ball.
Keon Coleman - I was able to get this guy super late in most of my drafts. Why? He *SHOULD* be the WR1 in Buffalo. He has the size for sure. Speed isn't terrific and I don't think he's a true deep threat, but Michael Irvin wasn't the fastest WR and he sure caught a lot of deep balls. This guy is my breakout candidate of the year.

TeSlaa

Not likely. Not even sure he’ll out snap Kalif Raymond before the bye. He’s been sprinkled in with 1s but most of his best practice days & the preseason games came against future gym teachers of America.

The new OC wants 3 things to change In the offense:
  • more vertical shots, Jamo is poised for a big jump
  • more Pony formation - Jah & Monty both in the huddle, though not necessarily in the backfield together
  • Gibbs running routes off motion, from the slot and split wide
New terminology and playbook but he was around for the install back in 2022. They won’t go away from who they are: the line play dictates your success. When you control the line of scrimmage, the run game compliments and expands what you can do with the passing attack.

TeSlaa is intriguing as a red zone threat. He has a much better release than I anticipated, but he isn’t super crisp getting in and out of breaks. Slows down with small wasted steps, telegraphing he running an in breaker or out route. But the physical traits are off the charts. Sure handed, never lets the ball get into his body, tremendous at high pointing the ball, strong enough to snatch the ball in contested catches.

Importantly, loves to block & he is effective doing it. That will get him on the field. Jared has spent a lot of time with him doing after practice sessions. Kid has all the tools and characteristics you want.

But this is Amon-Ra’s offense, he is the straw that stirs the drink, and the Lions are spoiled for choice when they get inside the 20 (presuming they haven’t already cooked your D with an explosive.) Isaac will have his moments, he will contribute, but absolutely not a focal point in 2025.

IMO

I’m looking forward to Jack Campbell wearing the green dot helmet, Terrion Arnold making a year 2 jump, and most of all, Hutch being who he has always been. With a little better luck on the IR front, Kelvin Sheppard is going to crush his job.

IMO

The thought of Gibbs with another good downfield blocker is scary.

Jayden/Terry/Deebo/Bill/pretty much the entire offense :homer:
Chemistry with Penix/London/Mooney/Pitts
Patriots offense (Maye/Henderson/Diggs/Kyle Williiams/Chism especially)
CMC (is he all the way back?)
How many points the Bengals can score in a losing effort each weekend (I'm not anti-Bengals, but this formula of putting all your money in 3 offensive players seems very flawed)
Jordan Mason hopefully taking the majority of the Vikings rushing attempts
The top 5 rookie WRs (McMillan, Hunter, Egbuka, Golden, and Higgins (because I assume Higgins will get more burn than Burden at least year 1)
Skattebo. He and his dad loved John Riggins, says he patterns his game after him. I'd LOVE to see another RB like Riggins in the league.
Daniel Jones connection with Warren and the WRs.

Skattebo is no John Riggins. No matter how he says he patterns his game.

Ben Johnson/ Caleb Williams, the Bears offensive playmakers and the offensive line. Will it be a step forward or will it be Ben staring into space by week 6 in Washington on primetime wondering why he left Detroit

Impact Pete Carroll, Jeanty and Geno will make on the Raiders organization. Should be fun

Yeah, I think the Raiders are a great early season bet this season. They should be underdogs most games and Pete Carroll doesn't waste time. I think they will spoil some survivor pools. And I think Pete Carroll will be in the running for NFL Coach of the Year.

I agree with these two.

Could be the biggest offensive turnarounds in the league.

I'll list 10 things:

#1 (and this is a selfish one) I've banked a lot of my 1st rounds of CMC and Lamb being their 2023 selves and not 2024. Fully confident in them (1st and 3rd overall on my board) but obviously want to see it in action.

#2 Eagles new OC. They will obviously be more pass heavy than last season (they were the most run heavy team since the 1984 Bears) but how much more? I'm wondering if the fantasy community was too low on all of AJ, Smith, Goedert. Dallas on Thursday Night would be a good time to debut a more pass heavy (really just balanced) offense.

#3 Just how bad is the Bengals defense? Joe Burrow had the 20th most pass attempts in NFL history last season. If the defense struggles vs Cleveland, I'll be wondering he might throw 700+ times, if so, he and Higgins were probably undervalued.

#4 Can the Ravens keep it up? I was surprised there wasn't WAY more interest in Todd Monken as a HC this offseason. The year before he took over the Ravens scored 33 TDs, that went up to 53 in his 1st year, and 62 last year. What used to be Tucker FGs became TDs, and Lamar has taken a huge step up, looking like prime Steve Young these last 2 seasons. Primetime against the Bills (who they choked against in the playoffs) will show us a lot.

#5 The 2022 Bucs had 31 TDs in Brady's last season, in 2023 they had 36 in Baker's 1st season, then last year they 57. How much of that is Liam Coen? I feel like there is a lot of people liking Irving, Evans, Egbuka, because the offense may only run through those 3 guys the 1st half of the season, but how big will the pie be, especially sans Wirfs? Be a little concerning if they struggle to score against Atlanta.

#6 I feel like KC is gonna have the biggest chip on their shoulder (more chip than shoulder) after being embarrassed in the Super Bowl. However, need to see it in action. Kinda wonder if they just stomp the Chargers on next Friday. Also think Kelce isn't near as washed as people think he is and will be another strong bounce back candidate, after I think being a little out of shape last season. If he doesn't do it while Rice is out, then I'm probably wrong.

#7 Was Dak just hurt last year, and how will Pickens be used on an offense likely to be trailing a lot. Are the Cowboys gonna be the Kirkland Brand Bengals? If they can score on Philly, they can score on anyone.

#8 Green Bay certainly pushed all their chips onto the table with the Parsons trade, its gonna be a bad feeling if they still lose to the Lions. Also, who (if anyone?) steps up in the passing game? They have a young breakout TE, and a 1st round WR, but has the issue been LaFleur wants it spread around, or just that nobody has stepped up? He certainly didn't seem shy about heavily feeding Adams when he was there, but was that Rodgers or LaFleur? I think Kraft and Golden drafters are gonna be REALLY interested in that Lions game.

#9 Bo Nix tore up down the stretch and has another year of seasoning in Sean Payton's dojo. Does he take another leap or does the new look running game take center stage? They should be able to dictate whatever they want against the Titans, which for my money is probably the week 1 survivor pick, especially if you wanna save Philly.

#10 Was Bryce Young's solid finish a player making the leap, or just a mirage? He mixed in nice games in almost upsets against KC/TB/Phi, with some awful games against Dal/TB, and beat some bad defenses in Ari/Atl. Now he's got a new #1, and suddenly he's kinda the veteran in the pass game, with a rookie WR, 2 2nd year guys, and a 2nd year TE. Jacksonville is a very beatable defense, if he (and the offense in general) comes out struggling, Hubbard/McMillan drafters may have bought a little too high.

curious on;

mason taylor (is he option 2? will the jest ever have a functional TE)
darren waller (flashes of the raiders)
chris olave (will he step forward or be concussed out of the league)
ny jest rb rotation (assume hall is on the outs next year)
tet mcmillen (is the qb decent)

Bryce Young is a good one, losing Theilen will not help.

I want to see how the ambiguous backfields shake out (Jax, Cle, NYJ)
I don't think Cleveland is ambiguous until Judkins signs.

Sampson, Ford, and Sanders is ambiguous enough for me and the main point is Week 17. I assume Judkins is back by then and I don’t assume he takes over immediately. That’s the way I see it.

Maybe LAC or NYG or SEA or DEN would have been a better example, but I’m getting at the state of current affairs where you have a bunch of unsettled backfields in the pros.

So many choices here so I'm going to go division by division, favs in bold:

AFC East - Keon Coleman, Justin Fields, Tyreek, Henderson
AFC West - Worthy, Harvey, Hampton, Thornton
AFC North - Henry, Chase Brown, Sampson, Metcalf
AFC South - Downs, Ayomanor, Marks, Tuten

NFC East - Barkley, Blue, Bill, Skattebo
NFC West - Arroyo, Pearsall, Harrison, Puka
NFC North - Caleb, Golden, McCarthy, Jamo
NFC South - Egbuka, Shaheed, Penix, ETN

Honorable mention:
M Taylor, T Harris, C Tillman, A Pierce, JSN, G Wilson, Monangai, Tucker

If there is one name up there I am the most excited about, it might be Metcalf, Worthy or Coleman. I think all three have the chance to really light things up. I don't know if Rodgers can stand in the pocket for more than 2 seconds or move around to buy time but he is going to be by far and away the best QB Metcalf has ever had. R Wilson's last couple years in Seattle were not good. Rodgers will throw him balls Geno Smith couldn't dream of. I know we have an Arthur Smith problem but I see Metcalf getting absolutely peppered like he never has before. With high quality targets.

And there will be +/- 2.5 TDs thrown to Metcalf from offsides penalty plays...

Oh no. I hate to say it man, but Geno is much better than Rodgers at this point. They really messed up signing DK, IMO.

Both Russ and Geno had higher QBRs and Net yards per attempt than Rodgers did in 2024. Not by a huge amount, but by a few spots. I watched Rodgers every game last year. The thing that might save it is that the Jets coaches were so incompetent that everything was berserker. That very well could be. But you’re betting on that because the other guys were better.

DK doesn’t run good routes or catch contested passes well. He’s gotten by on natural ability and this year nobody will be drawing coverage away from him. He’s all he’s got.

If Rodgers develops a favorite off the wall receiver, i could see it being Roman Wilson.

I wanna see target distribution in NE and GB
