Who have been you worst sell highs that went higher! (1 Viewer)

Every year around mid-season the pundits come out with their sell-high candidates. This year I have decided to sit on Tomlinson and Torain regardless of such chatter and go with my gut.

My worst had to be Thomas Jones when he ran for 1400 plus yards for the Jets- who is yours and who are you holding onto right now?

:moneybag:

I did the same thing with TJ. Sold him for Joseph Addai who got injured and only played a couple more games the rest of the year while TJ went off and had a career year.

Arian Foster before week 1. Traded him and TB Mike Williams on hype for Miles Austin. Thought I got out while the stock was at it's hottest. I'm happy enough with the trade cuz I really need the WR, but I couldn't offer the same back to him now. Not even close.

I sold Adrian Peterson for Larry Johnson AP's rookie year... the game before LJ injured himself and was out for the season. AP went on to lead the team I traded him to the championship...

McFadden.

I read too many sell high threads/articles and traded him for Finley and Crabtree a week before Finley got injured. I'd probably be OK with that decision, though, if Finley didn't go on IR. Maybe.

I think my lesson is not to sell high unless there are warning signs on the field (as opposed to injury risk or threatened competition).

I sold Hillis after Week 2, right before he took the lead job & never looked back.

I'm about to sell LT, time will tell how that works out...

Sold Vick this year the week proir to his injury. Not a bad sell but he could end up beating out my starting QB on the season (Brady) on a per game basis.

Just sold Ocho this week since I also own TO. Could have sold either one but wanted to keep TO bc of the targets hes seen all season.

Sold Kenny Britt a week ago after he posted 4 solid games. Saw Damien Williams emerging and thought Britt was a 4 catch 50 yards maybe a TD every now and then kind a guy.

Apparently he took offense and was out to prove me wrong last week. My only saving grace was the guy I traded him to actually benched him for Devin Hester.

Easy. Created league mutiny when I traded to get Addai a few years ago after week 4. All I gave up? ADP (rookie year) and Braylon Edwards in his 16 TD year. oof

I traded Joe Horn halfway through his breakout year in New Orleans, thinking that he'd eventually fall back down to earth. He just got better.

Then, a few years ago I picked up Marques Colston after his first game, and traded him on the assumption that he was a One Week Wonder. Big mistake.

Damn those Saints receivers.

McFadden.

Traded him after week 2 for Randy Moss.

My league is TD-friendly and Randy's always been a TD machine...plus DMac was my 4th RB that I stole late in my draft.

Not the most terrible trade, but regrettable now.

Ouch. For your sake I hope that was a redraft league.

Garcon in a deal for Mendenhall. Two days later Clark and Collie go down.
:lmao: At every step.First, how did you land a top 15 RB for a guy who is barely top 40 on a PPG?Second, how do you regret letting go of WR40 when he is still hurting, still not practicing, and has a career targets/receptions % of around 40? Far from a sure bet he's going to step right in and become a top ten WR overnight.ETA: Oops, my bad...WR35, and % is 48.8 (or about 20% lower than Manning's completion percentage overall since Pierre was drafted in the sixth round).

1st year playing FF got robbed for Jerry Rice in 89

my 1st round pick for reuben droughns and 2nds (guy drafted adp)

those two hurt the most :pickle:

Gave up:

Malcom Floyd, 2011 3rd round Rookie Draft Pick

Got:

Chad Henne, 2011 4th round Rookie Draft Pick

This was right before his 200+ yard game, other owner didn't even play him though lol. Now that he got injured this might work out for me, but his value definitely was higher after I traded him for sure.
