Who is a good goalline TD vulture (1 Viewer)

Who would you suggest (and why)?

--Verron Haynes? W. Parker will be given a chance, but the cutting of Humes makes Haynes the next guy in line if Parker falters, right?

--Stephen Davis? This guy was a great vulture last year. The release of Moe Williams makes Davis the clear goalline threat of the backup RBs--but I worry about two things: S. Jackson and Davis' health. Jackson has got good size, so it's not a given that Davis would automatically come into the game when the Rams get on the goalline. And Davis' knees are sort of a medical marvel. Kind of on the fence here.

--Other (why)?

Buccaneers :: RB

RB Alstott To Get Goalline Carries?

Chris Smith, Footballguys.com

It is only preseason but it appears that Mike Alstott will get work once again this season as the hired gun when it comes to the goalline offense. He got the call today against the Jacksonville Jaguars and banged it in from two yards out. Bad news for fantasy owners of Cadillac Williams hoping to see him emerge as a goalline back.

But how much oof this is trying to avoid injury to Caddy? Seems to me pretty senseless to have him bashing it in during preseason and risking a senseless injury.

Personally, I don't see Haynes being any more effective than FWP. I like Haynes a lot as a 3rd down back, but I don't see him being the goal line guy.

Brandon Jacobs. 7 TDs last year and should get more playing time this year. Could be a real steal if Tiki gets injured.

That's what I'm hoping, but you can't deny Alstott's proven success at the role. And likely neither can Gruden. The likely best case scenario is that age finally catches up to Alstott and he has some difficulty in that role.

Chris Smith needs to re-analyze the Bucs RB situation.
