Who is Allen Hurns? (1 Viewer)

Hurns has been the top fantasy WR in all 4 games for Jax this season. Seems he's just not going away.
Not week 2.Really hard to gauge what the pecking order is going to be when things settle in- QB change, lot's of injuries, etc.
Yup forgot he left that game early.
I thought he got hurt at the very end.
It was late.
It was the last play of the game

I find it intriguing that he seems to get at least one deep ball every week and should honestly have abt 2 more TDs than he has right now
Rice, Wayne...Largent....these guys were not fast by 40 time standards....but they ran amazing precise routes and knew how to fake DB's out of their jocks to run free.

Hurns is a tremendous route runner (not saying he is HOF material like these guys...but just pointing out how perceived slower guys seem to get open deep)

I am still intrigued by Hurns. I do like the big play ability because that is something every great WR has and so far he has flashed more of it than any other Jaguar's receiver. Robinson is looking better than I expected given how little he showed during pre-season. At this point, my expectation is that Cecil is gone after this year and Robinson and Hurns start on the outside with Lee starting in the slot. One thing all three rookies have struggled with is staying healthy in the pros--and so that will be a key factor. Many good, young players never really put it all together because injuries stunted their development.

Which is unbelievably important in the NFL.

Allen Robinson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a stress fracture. If Hurns gets through the concussion protocols by the team's next game, his remaining schedule is as follows:

IND

NYG

HOU

BAL

TEN

HOU
Is that good?
Well, Houston and Baltimore are #31 and #32 in WR yards this year, Tennessee is #22, Indianapolis is #17, and the Giants are 13th due to other teams' ability to run all over them but a truly terrible team. So, I think so.

Wow. If Hurns has a concussion. Who in the hell is gonna catch the ball for the Jags this week? Lee may not even be healthy enough to play. Who's rolling with Mike Brown as the Jags #1 WR this week? Could be a hot WW pickup! LOL!

They're on a bye this week.

Perhaps the discussion should focus on what to expect moving forward with no Robinson, despite the fact they're on a bye. Safe to say Hurns slides into that Robinson role with Shorts and Lee still doing their thing?

Would have to think Shorts is obviously the #1 guy assuming he's healthy enough to play...seems to be nagged by various injuries this year. Hurns would have to slide in as the #2 since he's been playing all year. Question is do they put Lee in as the #3 or is it WRBC with Brown and Sanders sprinkled in as well? Question still remains on how bad Hurns' concussion is. Is it a multi-week thing? If so, Denard Robinson may lead the team in receptions the next couple weeks.

Jags passing game is definitely in flux. There is still an Allen on the field. There is still a Robinson on the field. There is just no Allen Robinson in the equation any more. What we do know is that Marcedes Lewis will be injecting himself back into the receiving equation as likely the most reliable pass catcher after the bye. Cecil Shorts always finds a way to get hurt. And Marqise Lee has been an afterthought since Week 1 - but may no longer be with this new opportunity to contribute.

Hurns definitely has explosive upside; can't find anything relating to any kind of concussion history for him in high school/college so I'd like to think he can contribute as soon as he clears protocol. That Week 13-16 stretch with two matchups against the Texans and one against the Ravens certainly look enticing if he's serviceable in the games beforehand. I'm expecting Shoelace and Lewis to drive the offense until then (with Shorts chipping in a contribution in PPR leagues).

Rotoworld:

Coach Gus Bradley said Allen Hurns, not Marqise Lee, will replace Allen Robinson (foot) in the starting lineup.

Hurns will start opposite Cecil Shorts and play just about every snap, with Lee functioning as the No. 3. It's a role we'd have more excitement about if Hurns had more consistency and Blake Bortles wasn't so error-prone. Shorts is the one more likely to see volume and take advantage of the garbage-time stats that will inevitably come. Hurns, expected to get cleared off his concussion in time for Week 12 at Indy, is a WR4.

He's been doing really well past 4 weeks - like 11 receptions on 15 targets, 170 yards, 2 TD's

I'd love to see 10 targets a game to Hurns, see if he cannot become a solid WR for Jacksonville. Opportunity ... that's what you hope for and he's got it now. Targets and catches .... we'll see.

I'm honestly debating on starting him over Wright this week in the FFPC first round of the playoffs. Anybody else think the Colts get up big and the Jags just toss it around all day?

I firmly believe that Hurns will outscore Gordon this weekend in PPR.

Hurns has shown great ability for a rookie this year. He caught some absolutely horrible throws from Bortles a couple of weeks ago. He has a knack for adjusting to the throw and for getting his hands on the ball as well as for getting into the end zone. I think he is a solid WR3 for the rest of this year and he has a chance to cement a role for the future.

He also has a knack for getting open without blazing speed. He's a very solid route runner.

Hurns, Crabtree, Hunter, Sanu.

Gotta start 3. Gotta figure Hurns is easily in that 3, rigth?? I mean, right????
I have Hunter and Hurns and it is a no brainer that I am starting Hurns over Hunter.
This is what my current lineup reflects, hunter sitting. Only cause I see his is limited or whatever. I would probably otherwise have gone Hunter over Crabs or Sanu and pray for one big catch or something.

HURNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
