I think most people will take a wait and see approach to make sure he's not a week 1 wonder. If he blows up again you'll see more movement. So everyone thinks Brown is going to put up a 2000 yard season? Noone is trading him or trading for him?

Wow. I don't like that trade at all.I'm not even wasting the time trying to trade C.Brown yet. Only after week 4 [if he continues to produce] would I expect serious discussions. The things I'm seeing Brown being traded for right now seem like junk-for-junk trades, which is no better than holding him IMHO. As I understand, the point in 'selling high' is to get something of value, and we're not there yet with Brown.Just swapped him and Braylon Edwards for Duece McCallister and Chris Chambers.
I am trying to trade him in a package for Roy Williams to a guy who needs serious help at rb. Hopefully, the guy realizes he needs serious help.Wow. oh my god if the plax owner does that he'll put a squirt gun to his head in three weeksI am close to moving C Brown and either Troy Williamson or Arnaz Battle for Plaxico Burress. I am insisting on Williamson while my counterpart wants Battle.
Now this trade I can see.A guy in our league just traded me Santonio Holmes for Chris Brown and Troy Williamson. He had Jacobs go down week 1 and freaked out. Worked out well for me.
I think he's capable of putting up the numbers that Travis Henry put up last year (270/1211/7 18/78/0), and if anything Brown is a better receiver than Henry. As with Henry last year, this is a contract year for Brown. What do you think I can trade him for that would get me equal value with those assumptions?jurrassic said:So everyone thinks Brown is going to put up a 2000 yard season? I think your description of Brown is off. I don't remember getting a lot of 4 point games from him. Not in the past 2 years would anyone have gotten the 17 carry games from Brown they got last week, so if he got 4 points in a game during that stretch it would be a person's own fault for starting a part timer. If healthy, he'll be as productive from a FF standpoint as any RB in the NFL, much less in Tennessee. Taht's particularly if he has bulked up as reported. The Titans will give L.White every chance to grab this job, but an 'uber productive when healthy' guy like Brown is not the sort you'd want to be battling with. Turf toe remains Brown's biggest obstical to longterm success. If he's somehow shaken that, the sky is the limit because he clearly has skills. Bottom line, the choice of trading away a 100+ yard RB producer for WR5/QB4 garbage or holding him and hoping for the best is no decision at all, IMHO. It's not as if anyone has a lot invested in him to begin with. He's the type of late round guy who could be a FF difference maker.Brown is a RB who will tease you with a few big games, put up 4pts in the rest, and then inevitably get nicked up. Deal him while he has any value after his tease game.
I'm thinking he's in line for about 1400-1500 rush yards..not sure about tds, but I think the guy finally puts it all together this season, without injury!!jurrassic said:So everyone thinks Brown is going to put up a 2000 yard season? Noone is trading him or trading for him?

It's funny to you that it makes sense to hold an 11th-14th round pick and hope he finally lives up to his capabilities? You find it more sensible to have a quick firesale? Again, we're not talking about cashing in a 4th round pick for 2nd round value. You'll get garbage for him right now. Let's approach the debate from this angle: Like everyone, I'm sure you took a flier on some questionable player in the 13th round of your draft. If he got 175 yards of production in week 1, would you trade him for garbage just to rid yourself of him? Doubtful. That's the advice you're giving.ETA: I've now seen 2 trades in this thread that are clearly ones that should be accepted: Santonio Holmes and Thomas Jones. It's not my position that these trades should be refused. If a trade like that comes to your door, obviously jump at it. My point remains there's little point in trading Brown for some WR5/QB4 benchwarmer.I think your description of Brown is off. I don't remember getting a lot of 4 point games from him. Two owners in my league have expressed interest in C. Brown. One has offered Calvin Johnson straight up. The other wants Brown and D. Foster for Marshawn Lynch and either Andre Johnson or L. Coles.
These are pretty sweet offers - the second one is simply incredible. I mean come on, Lynch & Johnson for Brown/Foster?Two owners in my league have expressed interest in C. Brown. One has offered Calvin Johnson straight up. The other wants Brown and D. Foster for Marshawn Lynch and either Andre Johnson or L. Coles. I am considering both offers and could move him before the weekend roster deadline.
I agree with others... the market for Brown may be better than I assumed although there's no way an offer like this is made in leagues I'm in. You have to make these deals. Two owners in my league have expressed interest in C. Brown. One has offered Calvin Johnson straight up. The other wants Brown and D. Foster for Marshawn Lynch and either Andre Johnson or L. Coles.
My lord in heaven.i got Antonio Gates for Chris Brown/Wes welker
do yo like?My lord in heaven.i got Antonio Gates for Chris Brown/Wes welker
Let's see, top TE and likely early 3rd round pick for 2 guys who went 13th round and undrafted in my local redraft? Yeah, that seems like an ok deal.do yo like?My lord in heaven.i got Antonio Gates for Chris Brown/Wes welker
In fairness, peoples' assessments of value change from draft day through the season, and I happen to believe that people underestimated Brown's value (by a lot) and Welker's value (to a moderate degree). That said, we've only seen week 1 so such conclusions are very tenuous at this point, and this could well be the classic case of trading quality (Gates) for quantity (Brown and Welker).BigJim® said:Let's see, top TE and likely early 3rd round pick for 2 guys who went 13th round and undrafted in my local redraft? I was offered Osi Uminura (sp), Anthony Thomas (handcuff for me), and a 2nd rounder and 4th rounder in next year's draft for Brown, James Hall, and my 10th and 11th.Im trying to trade him, but havent found a suiter yet.
I agree. I would assume the majority (vast?) would take this quality over that quantity. Again, I could be mistaken. It does seem that Brown is being traded for more value than I would have assumed opening this thread. In fairness, peoples' assessments of value change from draft day through the season, and I happen to believe that people underestimated Brown's value (by a lot) and Welker's value (to a moderate degree). What are you going to get for him? Right now it looks like he is the #1 guy on a decent team that likes to run the ball (See Travis Henry last year). The chances that anyone giving you near or above that value straight up are slim.I guess maybe packaging him with someone like Jordon in hopes of getting a RB like Henry or Benson but............why? Iguess it also depends what type of league your in, I'm in a 2RB, 2WR, 2FLEX league so after I picked him up off the wires before last weeks games there's no way I'm getting rid of him now. He's a solid #3 RB covers my Bye weeks and a Flex spot when Alexander and FWP are toting the rock for me each week. Heck I'm gonna try to get another one like him too this week(can't say who yet cause I met the members of my league on this site(KEYS))I can see trying to package him with a moderate #2 guy though in a 2 RB league and trying to ship 2 for 1 to the guy in your league with Jacobs though!!For my money though in my league I'm keeping!!!!So everyone thinks Brown is going to put up a 2000 yard season? Noone is trading him or trading for him?
Someone in one of my leagues (admittedly a friendly free Yahoo) just traded away Brees/LJ for Hasselbeck/MBIII. You have to take a lot of these posted trades with a grain of salt.I agree.
