Somewhat related: I still can't believe the Jets wasted an overall two or three on Quinnen Williams (I forget which). That was just nutty. What were they thinking? 

To be fair, Q looked like a dominant prospect and the rest of that draft wasn’t great after Murray and Bosa. Obviously I’m thrilled with Simmons but there were plenty of misses and underperformers in that first round.

Simmons was coming off a late ACL tear (I think it might have even happened training for the combine if I remember correctly).  That is why he dropped otherwise he would have been drafted a lot higher.
