Who is your SOD of the first Round (1 Viewer)

DeAngelo Williams.

He's only had the fourth most prolfiic career of any RB in NCAA history......behind a fairly average line. He runs like Emmitt Smith...low to the ground, smart, good balance, sets up his blockers.

You keep giving this guy the ball and he'll rack up 1400 yards and a dozen TDs and make the play action pass look great, not to mention the benefit of keeping your defense of the field.

I don't understand why he's dropped as far as he has.
I would imagine concern for him to be able to pick up the tough 1 and 2 yards. He tends to go sideways a bit too much. That won't work in the NFL. I do think he will be a successful NFL back in the right situation though.

Id go Deangleo Williams. He reminds me of Emmitt Smith. I have a feeling he'll make some NFL team very happy toting the rock for an awful long time.

Im not sure...maybe its just me...but Lendale White, with the very weak 15 rep bench effort and the weight fluctuation is starting to scare me in a Ron Dayne sort of way. If he slides all the way to the end of the 1st round or early 2nd, and all those teams pass on him, Id think there's good reason for it.

How can someone be the steal of the draft if they go in the first round?

Aren't tehy just meeting expectations?

When Randy Moss slid to the Vikes he was the SOD of the first round.

But he still went in the first round. And I would beg to differ on the "steal" of the draft. The guy caused all kinds of problems while he was there and eventually got shipped out of there for his off the field problems and his horrible attitude, the two reasons why he slid in the first place.Lelie and Stallworth were both first round picks and a lot of people call them busts for not meeting expectations. Seems to me, if you are picked in the first round, you are no steal. A lot of these guys that people are putting on this list are getting picked right where they should be picked.

Or did you mean "still on drugs" for SOD? I get them confused sometimes.

well the exact title of this thread is "SOD of the first round."So it probably makes more sense to say Steal of the first round, but the acronmy SOD has the sort of moxy I like to bring to my threads, so I went with it.

Oh, my bad then......Steal of the first round is Reggie Bush then, because he should have been number 1 ?

Sure...if that's what you think. Actually, that might be what I think now.
