Voted Alice but the flying monkeys were the creepiest creatures of them all. Hard to imagine having a normal life after either experience.

The actors playing the munchkins have long been accused of behaving badly on set. In 1967, Garland said: “They were little drunks. They got smashed every night and the police used to scoop them up in butterfly nets.”

She also claimed she once went on a date with one of the actors. When her mother turned up as chaperone, the man said: “Fair enough, two broads for the price of one.”

Bert Lahr, who played the Cowardly Lion, corroborated the tales, writing: “Many munchkins made their living by panhandling, pimping and whoring. Midgets brandished knives and often had passions for larger personnel.”

According to producer Mervyn LeRoy, after shooting finished, “they had orgies in the hotel and we had to have police on about every floor. To make a picture like The Wizard of Oz, everybody had to be a little drunk with imagination.”

The salary paid to the actors has long been a matter of dispute, with many production staff claiming the figure was hundreds of dollars per week, while actor Jerry Maren claimed the figure was much lower: “How could you get drunk on $50 a week?” he said. 

Maren also ascribed the unsavoury incidents to two specific actors. “There were a couple of kids from Germany who liked to drink beer. They drank beer morning, noon and night, and got in a little trouble. They wanted to meet the girls, but they were the only ones.”

The munchkins were the ancestors of Verne Troyer. 

 
Of course it's Alice. Not even close. Oz is weird but has set rules once you're there. Wonderland has no rules; it's like a huge acid trip. In Oz if you follow the Yellow Brick Road you get to the Emerald City. In Wonderland the Yellow Brick Road might get you there, or it might lead you 10 feet and then drop you down into a pit of hell. You'll never know until you try and it changes every time.

You make it seem like an easy choice.  Murderous witch--whose sister you happened to kill--and flying monkeys after you the whole way?  Oh and by the way, the guy at the end of your journey is at least at first pretty terrifying.

When you get to Emerald City, the guy that's supposed to help you is a total fraud.  So I'm not sure why getting there quickly is an advantage.

I voted Alice for some of the reasons already mentioned, but thinking about Glinda, she wasn't really such a good witch to Dorothy. She knew those ruby slippers would get Dorothy home all along, but manipulated her for her own purposes.  She used Dorothy to take out the Wicked Witch of the West before letting her in on that little tidbit of information.  Some friend.

Oz was way stranger/creepier.  Michael Jackson in a scarecrow outfit?  Give me Tom Petty in a large hat 10 times out of 10.
