Who's your :penalty: on?

I'm voting for Coughlin. Eli struggles again, the back seven on defense gets toasted routinely, and there is more "he said/he said" crap going back and forth in the N.Y. papers between Coughlin and his players.

A 6-10 season adds up to Parcells coming back to Jersey in '08 for one final rodeo.

:bag:

I can't see Crennel making it to 2008.

Not sure he'll be the first one canned though.

Isn't Coughlin on a one year contract anyway? If so he technically can't be fired after the season.

I do not believe Coughlin will be fired during the season.

I think life might get easier for Coughlin if Strahan is dealt.

With Tiki and Strahan gone, he would have a little better handle on the locker room.

Not to say he is safe by any means but I think it would help his cause.

I voted for Fox. Every year you hear how the Panthers are going to win the NFC and they bomb out.
Fox has only been the coach for 5 years there. He took a 1-15 team, and turned them around to 7-9 in his first year. The second year under him they went to the Super Bowl. The third year they were bitten bad by the injury bug, but were only one game away from making it into the playoffs. The fourth year they went to the NFC Championship game. Last year they underachieved and finished 8-8, but their offensive line suffered multiple injuries in the first game of the season, and the backups never meshed well, plus the play-calling was not good. I don't think Fox is in hot water. He shouldn't be.

Every year?Fox has done a great job with that team. If your poorest year is 7-9 you are doing something right. He took over a 1-15 team.

:goodposting: On 1/10/07, Coughlin received a one year extension to his contract which was due to expire at the end of this coming season. So in essence, he is under contract for two more years. Very few coaches go into a season as a lame duck.

I'd love to see Coughlin get axed.

He's got to be one of the worst HC's in the NFL.

He's a dinosaur, his tactics don't work in todays NFL.

I'll go with Gruden as well. As much as management has supported him, if the team gets off to another bad start, I could see him not making it into October.

Coughlin and Gruden should be the front-runners here.
<_< Chucky has always been overrated.
I'm sort of torn on that, because he did some really good things in Oakland, but I've never gotten a sense of what his plan in Tampa was after they won that Super Bowl. Now that he's essentially cast his fate with Garcia, Simms and Gradkowski at QB, I don't think this bodes well for him.

I voted John Fox.

Why?? Since we were looking for first, I figured if Carolina is going to fire him they'd do it early to make sure their hat is in the ring for the new Raleigh resident Cowher.
