Who will Champ be Covering? (1 Viewer)

i would assume it'd be marvin, but i don't really know. (i own reggie in pretty much every league, so that's what i'm hoping).

i certainly wouldn't bench peyton (if i owned him). champ's only one man. dallas clark, anthony gonzalez, and whoever is covered by dre bly could all go off.

one great, shut-down corner isn't going to stop peyton.

about benching whoever champ's covering:

i assume it would be marvin and i wouldn't bench him unless the alternative is very good.

Fellas, Champ covers the Broncos left side of the field. Typically, this means he is covering Harrison, since Harrison usually lines up on the Colts right side.

It will depend. Do not forget that Mr. Bly is quite a good corner as well.

I would still play Wayne and Harrison unless you have another top 10 option.

Correct answer. He covers a side, not a player, so the Colts can avoid any matchups they don't like.

And they're moving Harrison around more than in the past.
And they are also starting to move Champ around the field now too. So that one side of the field theory doesn't hold true this year. Last week he was in the slot in the 3rd/4th quarter closer to the line because they were running the ball down Denver's throat. They wanted him closer to go after the ball.

Agreed, Marvin has been lining up on the left side this year too, something he has typically never done. However, Istill expect most of Harrison's coverage to come from champ.

I fully expect this will be even more so this game. Watch for Harrison lining up in the slot on the Colts' left side, with Wayne split wide to his left. Champ will be covering TEs more than necessary today.P.S. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night. I know things.

:scared: After Lynch got hurt, Champ actually logged some snaps at safety last week. Denver's moving him a lot more this year than they did last year.

What I'd love to see is Marvin in the slot and Gonzo on the right. Let Gonzo run wind sprints as a decoy. It won't happen, but I'd love to see Marvin predicate what Bailey is doing.
