Slaton.

He is better equipped to be an actual running back, he is younger, and he has not yet shown that he is as injury-prone as Bush appears to be. Plus, there are not many offenses where Bush's skill set would be as useful as it is in New Orleans.

I voted Bush because the excitement he brings and the potential he has.

But that's if thier salaries were the same. If I had to pick considering thier salaries then I would go with Slaton.

Bush has a $52.5 million contract. Slaton likely has a deal for a few million (couldn't find the numbers). I suspect that Slaton costs 1/10th of what Bush does. At this point, IF I AM A GM I would much rather have the guy that comes for pennies on the dollar.

That's kind of so amazingly obvious I felt it safe to assume the question was asking on their merits as football players, which player would a GM rather have.

4 year, $2.370 million

 That's what I was trying to say. But if they had the same salaries I would go with Bush.

Not I. Bush has no patience as a running back, displays poor vision, and can't run between the tackles. He's Eric Metcalf. Sure, he's a weapon in the passing game, but so is Slaton. Slaton is the more versatile player.

Because Bush is a great punt returner, that gives him a bit of an edge, although Slaton seems to be a slightly better every-down-back.

Obviously, we have to throw salaries out, as Slaton is a MUCH better value than Bush.

I wonder how much longer the Saints will gamble on Bush as a returner, with his injury issues and all. If you take that advantage away from Bush, I'll take Slaton hands down.

Slaton is going to end up with Twice as many rushing yards as Bush had in his first two seasons. Just as many touchdowns... Granted less Recieving yards, but the seasons not over and I don't pay my RB to receive. :P

Slaton has proved more, in less time. Easy choice.

Don't get me wrong, as a Texans fan I love having Slaton and I think he's a pretty good RB.But I also think he gets too much credit and the offensive line is not getting enough credit. They've been opening some great holes for him to run through, and quite a few of his monster runs have come from him being virtually untouched by the time he hits the second level. And that of course is when he's able to do some real damage with his speed. Not knocking Slaton, but I think he's probably got a better situation to be in as far as the run blocking right now. Earlier in the year and in preseason, when the O-line hadn't gelled and adjusted to Alex Gibb's scheme as well, I didn't think Slaton looked nearly as good. He's improved at the same time the line has.

i voted Slaton, for one reason. Bush poosy-foots to much. how many times does he run around in circles for 3 yds? the answer is a lot.

i like the way Slaton runs. he is explosive, and he can run downhill in a hurry, meanwhile Bush is still trying to juke his way out of a tackle.
