With Lackey going down for April, I need to pick up one of these guys: J.A. Happ, Chan Ho Park, John Lannan, Andy Sonnanstine, Brad Penny, Clay Buchholz or Kevin Millwood?? The choices aren't pretty, but I need a 5th starter. I'm leaning towards Sonnanstine, but not sure.
Lannan has decent value, especially in a points league.
Yes, he's on a quite crappy team. However, he's the #1 starter and should clear 200 IP and get a double digit win total.
Even in 5x5 roto he's not atrocious. He's in a good pitcher's park, and will also visit Atlanta and Miami several times, both of which are also pitcher's park.
I would pick either Penny or Buchholz depending on who gets the Red Sox 5th starter job. Both have had good springs - Penny has his velocity up to the 95 range and Buchholz has been lights out.
