Who's benching Cruz this week? (1 Viewer)

Some may have benched him long ago, but in 3WR start leagues he's hard to leave on the bench. Eli hasn't pulled his head out in 14 weeks so why should this week, against the Seattle D, be any different? Who will be on him? If Sherman takes Nicks then maybe this guy can produce. Hard to trust.

I am for Bowe.

been in my lineup every week since day 1, but I cant do it anymore... especially not v SEA

Thinking seriously about starting Da'Rick Rogers over him. That's very risky to do in the playoffs, but I believe Rogers is the real deal and Luck will continue to go to him this week. Also, it looks like Brazlill is a game time decision.

I would bench him if my Cruz team was still alive. Thanks a lot for nothing Cruz, and your salsa dance sucks!

My only other option is Terrence Williams. Is that any better?

Our WW has been picked clean.

ETA: Da'Rick Rogers is actually there. Hmmm...tempted.

Eli is not holding up his side of the Eli/Cruz combo. He is in a season long slump and won't break out of it this week either. I don't know what is wrong with Eli but Cruz can't pass it to himself.

As of now, I have Cruz in my wr3 spot over Hilton, E.Sanders, SSmith and J.Hunter.

Might have to roll with Hilton, he torched Hou last time and with the emergence of D.Rogers, maybe that will open it up more for Hilton.

Just sucks starting Cruz all year and possibly having him in the bench if he FINALLY goes off.....

Unbelievably, Cruz is on pace to have more catches and yards than he did in 2012, but that is largely thanks to the monster first month of the season he had. 45-548-0 over the last nine games is not much to brag about.

I have been starting Cruz and Ray Rice all year thank god for Peyton, I have been waiting for them but I feel time is up.

Reading over at PFF, Sherman will not shadow Cruz.

Excerpt "...Sherman has played only 15 snaps as a right cornerback this season and rarely covers the slot. Considering that Cruz lines up inside on 69% of his routes and has the third-most slot yards of any wide receiver in the league, he’ll be matched up more with other cornerbacks than he will be with Sherman." More likely it will come down to Jeremy Lane and Kam Chancellor.

Having said that and in a matchup I am favored to lose by 20pts (standard scoring) I am considering in a start 2 WRs E. Sanders, G. Jennings. Was hoping for Aaron Rogers so I could go with James Jones also possibly if Cromartie plays Lafell.

E.Sanders is looking good since I believe Cinn is down to their backup CBs of Adam Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick (filling in for T.Newman).

Excerpt on Dre: "... In 131 coverage snaps this year, he’s been targeted 18 times and allowed 13 catches for 187 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His interception against the Chargers was impressive work, ripping the ball out of Antonio Gates’ hands just as the San Diego tight end caught it. Outside of that spectacular play, he’s had his share of missed tackles and bad penalties that stand out against him. "

It would be nice if bi-polar Dalton has a great game so BigBen will be chunking it.

I am for Todman if MJD is out.
Having this debate too. Right now I'm sticking with Cruz. This is just the kind of game I could see the old scrappy Giants returning or if they get blown out, garbage time. And I'm just not confident the Jags won't spread the carries around with Robinson and Sanders.

PLaying these guys over him. CHarles, Lynch, Decker, Colston, Roddy White, Witten, Gonzo (1.5 PPR for TE).

I kind of view this as a relatively easy decision this week.

I've been benching him for 5 weeks now. Eli has cost me 3 fantasy titles in the last few years either directly with me starting him or indirectly with me starting one of his WRs.

The lest exposure you have to Eli on your fantasy team the better. And I'm a Giants fan

I don't understand any of this. Why would Cruz produce in garbage time this week against Seattle, but not the last 10 weeks of garbage time? Also, Sanders is a WR. He has 2 carries on the year. If MJD is out, Todman is a slam dunk play over Cruz.

***JMO, of course!

Now that he's on my bench, he'll probably explode. But I put my money where my mouth is.... I had Cruz, Todman and D. Rogers for 2 spots, and Cruz was the odd man out. Tired of watching him disappoint every week. If he has a big game this week, it would be the most unlikely big game ever. Poor weather, Eli is awful, the entire Giants team looks like they have quit, and they are facing a nasty defense which hopes to be playing in this stadium again soon. I just don't see it.

Weather should be fine here tomorrow. But yeah everything else is correct
Hmmm, you're right. 27° with the wind chill, but clear. I had heard it was gonna be a rainy day.

Which makes me hate Cruz even more. He probably needed a DB to slip on the wet field in order to score. :)

Benched Cruz for Streater this week after making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs with this dead weight I'm finally using the matchup against the seahawks as my excuse to stop starting him every week.

You picked apart my second options. I said 'scrappy Giants' first because I think that's more likely, and I said Robinson first because I think he's more likely.

I left out Robinson because I concede he may get a few carries -- though not enough to have a negative impact on Todman's bottom line, IMO. I basically addressed your "scrappy Giants" scenario by saying they've quit. Scrappy went out the window several weeks ago.

I hear you, RN. There's just something about that damn team that I can see their fans, the weather and the travel making problems for Seattle. Obviously that's just a gut feeling.

I still think Todman is a slippery play. The promise of the preseason hasn't translated so far.

Yeah, normally a west coast team traveling to the east coast for a 1pm kickoff is not ideal, but this is the site of the Super Bowl, and you'd better believe the Seahawks have every intention of being back here. I can see that as their rallying cry all week. No way they're gonna want to have a dud game, if for no other reason so it won't be in their heads that they played poorly last time they were here (if they indeed make the big game).

Even though Cruz has been quiet after Week 4, at least through Week 11 he was targeted an average of 9-10 times a game... but the last 3 weeks it is been only 5-6 times. I am benching Cruz for Hartline and Boldin. [start 3: Megatron being my #1.]

Geez this is one of those decisions where if you take Cruz out and he goes off which for me would be (10+), it will be a "I told you.. always start your studs" if he sucks and in your lineup you are like "geez I knew better".

At this point, if he goes off, I'm ok with it. He's more than earned a spot on my bench.

I need upside after starting Knowshon and Julius, so looking for TD's. Rolling with Jordan Cameron against the Bear D. 9 targets for 9 receptions last week and a beast in the red zone. We'll see.

This is way more of an indictment of Eli and Gilbride then it is of Cruz. The offense has just been brutal..
