Jeff Garcia - Eagles, just can't see anyone spending big bucks on a QB so old.

Matt Schaub - Falcons, not trading him

Byron Leftwich - Kansas City, assuming the deal is right

Jake Plummer - Houston, seems like a no brainer

Ahman Green - Packers, re-signs for 1 year

Jamal Lewis - Falcons, bigger back with a decent run offense

Michael Turner - Chargers, don't see him traded

TJ Duckett - Steelers, Eagles, or back to the Falcons, all could use a big sized back

Dominic Rhodes - Denver, might have played himself into the right situation

Donte Stallworth - 49ers, need a #1 WR for Smith to progress further

Drew Bennett - Bills, complimentary to Evans

Kevin Curtis - Lions, most assume re-united with Martz

Randy Moss - Raiders, new coach with no grudge and no worthwhile trade offer

Jerry Porter - Raiders, new coach with no grudge

Jerramy Stevens - Vikings

Daniel Graham - Saints

Others:

Chris Brown - NY, either the Jets or Giants

Bobby Engram - Patriots, good hands for Brady, fits team mentality and price

DeShaun Foster - Indy or Buffalo, depth move

Joe Horn - Chiefs, back to his previous team to finish out his career

Good topic!

Jeff Garcia Philly, DM may not be ready for game 1 and if that happens he's a starter

Matt Schaub Falcs, Mike Vick is a Airport Mary Jane incedent away from league thwacking(IMO)

Byron Leftwich Dolphins, youg gun who will fill the long term needs

Jake Plummer Texans, and if not. I have no idea

Ahman Green Giants, they lose out on an overpriced Rhodes and take Ahman instead

Jamal Lewis KC as a backup to LJ

Michael Turner Jets, they give the Skins #2 and pry him away

TJ Duckett He sucks so bad I really don't care. Hu just sucks...

Dominic Rhodes In a surprise he remains a Colt

Donte Stallworth Tampa Bay, Gruden needs a burner to take over for Joey in 08'

Drew Bennett San Fran as a compliment to Bryant

Kevin Curtis Buffalo, where he's reunited with Steve Fairchild and becomes Isaac Bruce II

Randy Moss Oakland

Jerry Porter Released and to New England

Jerramy Stevens He sucks who cares

Daniel Graham Denver, they loved him last season, and won't resist adding a better TE than the rooks

Added:

Joe Horn in a stunner released and signs on w the Green Bay Packers

I am going to add Damon Huard on.

Jeff Garcia - Philly

Matt Schaub - ATL hangs onto him

Byron Leftwich - With the uncertainty surrounding Frye and Anderson, I could see him in CLEV.

Jake Plummer - Texans just seem to fit.

Damon Huard - In a surprise move, he stays in KC to be THE STARTER

Ahman Green - Holds the most value to the Packers

Jamal Lewis - Out of the box somewhat, but I see MINN as a backup, etc to Chester Taylor. they don't possess a big back who can run the ball.

Michael Turner - I could see the NYG giving up the needed picks.....

TJ Duckett - no clue here....maybe AZ to spell Edgerrin some

Dominic Rhodes - Jets

Deshaun Foster - stays in CAR

Chris Brown - similar to Duckett....who knows and who cares IMHO

Donte Stallworth - ATL.....I don't see any of their current crop being #1 studs

Drew Bennett - either KC or NE

Kevin Curtis - DET is the logical choice

Randy Moss - OAK...who else wants him

Jerry Porter - see above

Joe Horn - slides in as 3rd WR in IND, gives IND 2 old injury prone #2 WRs

Jerramy Stevens - Saints

Daniel Graham - Bills

Harrison? Injury prone? :wall:

Joe Horn in a stunner released and signs on w the Green Bay Packers
This one makes some sense...GB head coach Mike McCarthy was the offensive coordinator in NO during Horn's big years. Instead of Randy Moss maybe the Pack add Hollywood to the roster?

Jeff Garcia - Eagles, just can't see anyone spending big bucks on a QB so old.Matt Schaub - Falcons, not trading himByron Leftwich - Kansas City, assuming the deal is rightJake Plummer - Houston, seems like a no brainerAhman Green - Packers, re-signs for 1 yearJamal Lewis - Falcons, bigger back with a decent run offenseMichael Turner - Chargers, don't see him tradedTJ Duckett - Steelers, Eagles, or back to the Falcons, all could use a big sized backDominic Rhodes - Denver, might have played himself into the right situationDonte Stallworth - 49ers, need a #1 WR for Smith to progress furtherDrew Bennett - Bills, complimentary to EvansKevin Curtis - Lions, most assume re-united with MartzRandy Moss - Raiders, new coach with no grudge and no worthwhile trade offer Jerry Porter - Raiders, new coach with no grudgeJerramy Stevens - VikingsDaniel Graham - SaintsOthers:Chris Brown - NY, either the Jets or GiantsBobby Engram - Patriots, good hands for Brady, fits team mentality and priceDeShaun Foster - Indy or Buffalo, depth moveJoe Horn - Chiefs, back to his previous team to finish out his career
Shaub: I think they trade him for a draft pick and get a top WR in this draft.Chris Brown on the Giants would be a cruel joke for us Giants' fans..please, no chrissie brownie in NY!!I like your idea with Bobby Engram, he's a very under-rated WR.Turner - Giants, Jets ( remember, NYJets have loads of early picks this year, and Brian Shottenheimer used to coach Turner in SD ), he'd be a beast in Baltimore with that o-line! Detroit a possibility too, as KJ is down and out for much of, if not all of 2007. GB could be a location for Turner, since they need to begin grooming the successor to A. Green..Plummer - Houston.Leftwhich - nowhere as a starter. Chiefs would be foolish to let Huard go. They should dump Trent Green instead. Leftwhich is a total bust.here is another: isn't Brad Johnson a F/a? if so, watch for him to go to Chicago! he's JUST what that offense needs - a proven , veteteran QB who has won a SB and knows how to play in a big game. Give him a good defense (like he had in TB, like the one in Chicago?), and he'll be a great free agent acquisition.

He never had a cannon, but Brad Johnson doesn't have the arm strength anymore to be a full-time starter. Even his game management decisions (his greatest strength in the past) was very poor last season. If the Bears find themself in a situation where Grossman has to get replaced Brian Griese is a much better option at this point in his career than Brad Johnson would be. The Bears #3 Kyle Orton is also a better option...and that's not saying a whole lot.

Harrison? Injury prone? :lmao:
No....my oops, I meant #3 WRs i.e. Stokley

JEFF GARCIA - stays in Philly

MATT SCHAUB - stays in Atlanta one more year; I just don't see a team with a QB situation that would push them to give up a high draft pick to see what's really inside that box.

BYRON LEFTWICH - Would love to see him behind center in Chicago, but I think he stays as the starter in JAX; who else are they going to go with? Garrard isn't the answer. Their defense & running game is easily playoff caliber. They can't turn the team over to Quinn Gray. Despite the claims of a guy several posts up, Leftwich is far from a bust. He's going to put up big numbers in 2007.

JAKE PLUMMER - Houston seems likely. Cleveland as a darkhorse.

DAMON HUARD - I'll guess Cleveland as I think KC may decide to go with Trent Green for another year.

AHMAN GREEN - stays in Green Bay with Favre

JAMAL LEWIS - I'll go with Denver for lack of a better choice

MICHAEL TURNER - could be one of any 8 or 10 places including SD, but I'm going with Baltimore

T.J. DUCKETT - somebody said Arizona which doesn't sound bad to me as the goal-line back

DOMINIC RHODES - Giants

DESHAUN FOSTER - I don't know, Houston? Carolina may be crazy enough to keep him

CHRIS BROWN - I like him to get a shot in Detroit

DONTE STALLWORTH - I guess Philly is looking less & less likely. I'll go with San Fran

DREW BENNETT - Minnesota

KEVIN CURTIS - Detroit seems likely, but I like the Buffalo suggestion too

RANDY MOSS - I see JAX for some reason with Leftwich on a super bowl contender

JERRY PORTER - Oakland for lack of a clue

JOE HORN - return to KC for a year? I think they'll keep him in New Orleans with a pay cut

JERRAMY STEVENS - stays in Seattle

DANIEL GRAHAM - Minnesota

How about the following: Willis McGahee, Ricky Williams, Corey Dillon, David Carr

Last edited by a moderator:
I will throw DJ Hackett out there as another name. I think he has a good chance of moving to another team and getting a chance to start. He has looked really good in his role in Seattle.

Edit to add: I can see him going a team like Minnesota, San Francisco or Philadelphia.

Chris Brown - Denver

Any other free agent RB with a heartbeat - Denver

LT, LJ, SJax when they become available - Denver

There, that about sums up most of the RB threads on this message board. You'd think they are the only team in the NFL sometimes.

I agree with this and I would love nothing more than for Byron to put up big numbers, but if he can't stay on the field...

I think he probably meant #3 - and was referring to Stokely... or at least I hope so.

I liked Riffraff's thoughts on most, but all put in my :( - Jeff Garcia - I like the hype of MIN on him. I don't think T-Jax is ready, and although I love my WI-boy Bollinger - he is definately not starting NFL Material. Other possible interests: stays in Philly to win the big one as #2... or as the grooming man for J Russell in OAK (Walters & Brooks go :hey: )

Matt Schaub - I can never keep the rules straight... but as a RFA, I believe the Falcons have to make some sort of an offer & that dictates what other teams would have to give up to get him. I can see him in CLE if they give up on what they have. TBB would be a nice landing spot, but ATL is obviously not going to allow him to go to a divisional foe.

Byron Leftwich - I think he stays... I don't see him moving.

Jake Plummer - (agreed) Houston, seems like a no brainer

David Carr - I was thinking of a FFBall type trade here would greatly benefit 2 teams - Trade Carr to GB for A Rodgers. Rodgers clearly isn't the heir-apparent in GB, and he'd get a fresh start with a new team. He'd compete with Sage as the #2 & eventual starter behind Plummer. In reality though - I'd go with MIN or Philly if Garcia leaves.

Ahman Green - (agreed) Packers, re-signs for 1 year

Jamal Lewis - Falcons - this was the first time I saw this one, and I think it makes sense. But I doubt they'd pay him what he wants if they can get a nice young back in there. IMO - he likely re-ups with Baltimore, but I think an excellent opportunity would be with the Jets as the thunder-n-lightning duo with Leon Washington.

Michael Turner - I think the Bolts are too close to winning it now - and won't want to relinquish his rights. But if he bolts the Bolts - I say NYG.

TJ Duckett - to this one I say "Who cares". He's a lowsy FFBall guy, and has never proven to be a solid NFL guy. He'll be lucky to end up as a #2 somewhere.

Dominic Rhodes - The Denver rumor is interesting, but I don't see it. I definately think he ends up in a RBBC situation with one of the following a likely destination: IND, BAL (w/ Musa), PHI or ATL

Willis McGahee - I think he'll end up in BAL.

Cory Dillon - stays put

Donte Stallworth - What an awful year for FA WR's if this is your top guy! What is the most games he's played in a season - 10? So logic dictates, which team is the most ridiculous in their over-spending for over-priced Free-Agents... hmmm - Mr. Snyder would you please raise your hand for Washington, Please? TY. KC is in desperate need so they may overpay for him also.

Drew Bennett - Bills is an interesting thought. KC would have been my first thought

Kevin Curtis - (agreed) Lions

Randy Moss - He's going nowhere

Jerry Porter - traded to MIN for a 6th rounder, and conditional `08

Jerramy Stevens - Vikings

Daniel Graham - SEA or GBP

Others:

Chris Brown - I think he is the most likely to end up in Denver of all the rumored players. I don't think he's going to have a lot of suitors, so he could sign an incentive-laden deal. PHI wouldn't be bad landing spot opposite Westy also.

Bobby Engram - (Excellent option) Patriots, good hands for Brady, fits team mentality and price

DeShaun Foster - I don't have access to the NFLPA site anymore... but after last year's big contract, I doubt they can move him at all this year.

Joe Horn - I think much like Engram, he would be an excellent option for NEP. Solid character guy - but loves the attention. I'm sure he'd like to go out on top, and NE seems a top candidate.

PANTHERS BEGIN OFF-SEASON SHUFFLING

Wallace's 5-year run ends

Team's $1.4 million over salary cap after cutting backup end

PAT YASINSKAS

pyasinskas@charlotteobserver.com

The Panthers began working to get under the NFL's salary cap Monday, releasing veteran defensive end Al Wallace.

Carolina's third defensive end since 2002, Wallace had been scheduled to count $1.9 million against the $109 million cap, which the Panthers have to be under by March 2. His release frees up $1.1 million and leaves the Panthers about $1.4 million over the cap.

They probably will do most of their remaining cap juggling by restructuring contracts.

"Al's as classy a guy as you could ask for, and he gave us five great years," general manager Marty Hurney said. "It's sad and it's hard because he means so much to us. But at this time of year, you have to make some very tough decisions."

Wallace, who will turn 33 in March, had been the top backup to starters Julius Peppers and Mike Rucker since joining the team in 2002. Wallace had 25 tackles and three sacks last season, and his departure could be the beginning of change on the defensive line.

Rucker, who will turn 32 next week, is coming off major knee surgery. He is heading into the last year of his contract and is scheduled to count $6.9 million against the cap.

Rucker is scheduled to receive $2.5 million in roster and workout bonuses, and the Panthers could free up $4.4 million by releasing him. But the team might try to restructure and extend Rucker's contract to make it more cap-friendly.

Peppers has a cap figure of nearly $15 million, but his roster spot is safe. The team is likely to restructure or extend his contract to reduce his cap figure.
For those speculating Foster is leaving Carolina, there is virtually no sign that it will happen. Almost all indications are that he'll be with the team next season.

I will throw DJ Hackett out there as another name. I think he has a good chance of moving to another team and getting a chance to start. He has looked really good in his role in Seattle.Edit to add: I can see him going a team like Minnesota, San Francisco or Philadelphia.
I think he stays and Darrel Jackson is traded. The Seattle staff has had Hackett in high hopes for too long to get rid of him when he starts to emerge. There's a large group of people who feel Jackson's days in Seattle are done, be it attitude and injury, though he has a pretty good cap friendly deal. Just speculation, but I see DJax gone before DJ.As for Stevens, that chump better remember who gave him chance after chance after chance when it comes down to negotiations for a new contract. He has character issues but he can be great with a straight head. The team and Holmgren have been helping him for so long if he cuts bait for more mone then good effing riddance, but IMO he owes the team and Holmgren.

Another guy that could likely be changing teams, according to rumors, is Willis McGahee. Any predictions where he may end up?

Someone in another thread mentioned L.Jordan may be cut. Anyone know anything about this. Is there information out about this possibility?

The free agency period begins in less than 2 weeks (this also marks the beginning of the trading season), so let's hear some predictions about where these players land for next season.

*Not all are free agents, but are rumored to be either traded or cut by their current team.

Please add any others I may have missed.

Jeff Garcia- TB, Oakland?

Matt Schaub

Byron Leftwich- looks like Jax

Jake Plummer- TB, Houston, retiring?

Ahman Green

Jamal Lewis

Michael Turner

TJ Duckett

Dominic Rhodes- NYG?

Deshaun Foster- I guess it is Carolina

Chris Brown

Donte Stallworth

Drew Bennett

Kevin Curtis

Randy Moss

Jerry Porter- Oakland

Joe Horn

Jerramy Stevens

Daniel Graham
Looks like we know a bit more now. Anyone want to share their predictions now?

Brian Griese back to Denver? A source in my company (Real Estate) says he's looking at a $1.8M home in the Denver area. :lmao:
