Who's rolling with O'Sullivan against Detroit? (1 Viewer)

J.T. O'Sullivan - QB - 49ers Lions beat writer Tom Kowalski believes 49ers OC Mike Martz will be looking to "exact his revenge" against Detroit when the two teams meet this Sunday. It is conceivable that Martz will pour it on the team that fired him in January if he can. "I think it's going to be kind of a one finger salute at some of the offensive players who gave up on him (in 2007)," Kowalski says. Sep. 18 - 3:59 p.m. ET Source: MLive.com

I've seen all I need to see of the Detroit Lions to tell me one thing: start everyone you can against them. QBs, RBs, WRs, DEF, IDPs.

I'm starting JTO in both of my leagues this week:

1) over McNabb, Rodgers and Bulger (I'm hoarding QBs hoping to upgrade my WRs. So far, not working  )

2) over Rodgers

Brady owner here. I'm starting JT over ... Matt Ryan. Maybe I'm drinking the kool aid but I feel like I may have partially salvaged my season by claiming JT off waivers this week, assuming he stays healthy.

In a blind bidding waiver process, I have posted a large bid ($22 out of a $120 budget) to get JTO--and I already own Cutler & Schaub. Hoping to land JTO to either trade him or Schaub to upgrade at WR later, or perhaps even trade Cutler in a package to get a stud RB & WR. Since Cutler hosts NO this week, he'll be starting regardless, but I still hope I get JTO...

Starting him along with Brees over Hasselbeck in a start 2 QB league.

Starting him over Favre, Bulger and Garrard in my dynasty league.

Starting him with Roethlisberger in my Start-2QB league. Tossed Garrard out with the garbage.

I'm drinking a BIG glass of the O'Sullivan Kool-Aid this week. :goodposting:

1) starting him over Schaub and Cassel (whom I just traded, along with Selvin Young, for SJax);

2) not starting him over Cutler.

but glad to have him in both leagues.

I'm starting him over Favre. I am not completely sold on JTO yet, but hell he is playing the Lions. The Lions D is like wet toilet paper, id start charlie batch if he was playing them.

Over Warner. Tough decision to make after Warner's game last week but JTO played well and he is up against the Lions so I am going to swing for the fences this week.
same here. tough decision at first, but I feel confident it's the right call.

i just can't pull the trigger to start him over McNabb.

I think Gore goes bananas as Martz shows the Lions he can run the ball if he has a good RB and adequate OL

"Martz" and "run" in the same sentence?? lol... all kidding aside I think Martz throws and throws deep. He knows this team, he knows their players. I think this is going to be a shootout with SF winning because of better defense. Calvin should go off but Harris/Clements are a severely underrated tandem.

I'm trying to trade for JTO, no idea what he would want, he's starting Cutler of course.. Is he as high of value as a Rodgers, or is he more like a Kitna, or maybe even a Cassel?

With a cluster-f at QB in a two QB league, I will start O'sullivan (and Schaub) over Bulger, Collins and Pennington. Those will be my likely starters most weeks unless Collins has a really good matchup, or Bulger turns back time 3 years.

I'm seriously thinking about starting him over McNabb in one league, the match up is too good but do I dare.

Then even looking at dropping a RB to pick him up bit probably won't do that cause it would mean dropping either Slaton or Sproles.

Picked up JT on waivers this week and am considering starting him over McNabb. I can make lineup changes any time before kickoff, so since both McNabb and O'Sullivan play in late Sunday games, I'll probably take a look at where the 1:00 games put me against my opponent. If it looks like I need to take a gamble, I'll drop him in.

After watching some highlights of O'Sullivan I'm actually pretty impressed with this guy who most accounts here was simply a journeyman QB who was only on the team because of his familiarity with Martz' system and that little shot of winning the starting job. I've seen a good arm (although a funky throwing motion), good pocket presence and sound reads.

He's looked at least solid so far and now he gets to face the inept Detroit D in a Martz revenge game.

I'm curious to see how he is valued in the Shark Pool by seeing who people are (or aren't) starting him over.

Edit to add:

Have him in over Cassel and Garrard, so it's not like I'm benching Payton...
I am considering starting him over Peyton this week. I'm a Detroit Homer (who knows how bad this Lion team is) and got to see him last year. If I was in charge, I would have started him in 2007 over Kitna hands-down. I really like his chances against a sorry Lion pass-rush. Remember, Peyton has a beat-up O-line in front of him and plus he plays the Jags, who NEED to win this week. (Not saying they will beat the Colts, but they're going to throw the kitchen sink at that makeshift front five.) no links to offer... (just my 2¢)
I am with you. I am starting JT over Peyton. It is just a gut feeling.

Just noticed that O'Sullivan is owned in only 45% of ESPN leagues. That's lower than Trent Edwards, Marc Bulger, Jon Kitna and Matt Cassel. Heck, Brady is at 44%.

Meanwhile, Carson Palmer is owned in 98.8% of leagues.

This will be JTOs breakout week at NO. I traded him this week to address other areas..but I feel dirty.

He is already QB10 in the Top250 forward.

O'Sullivan had 145 yards and 2 TDs at halftime last week. If the Lions put up any kind of a fight he could've had a huge day. The Saints are much better than the Lions and won't give up at halftime. They'll keep pouring on the points so JTO will have to throw and throw and throw and throw.

I love his potential this week.

:) I'm starting him this week due to Eli's bye, but I might have started him anyway because Jason David starts for the Saints.

I started him over McNabb last week and am seriously considering doing so again this week. O'Sullivan won the week for me by putting up 18 pts vs. McNabb's 9. Won by 3. :hifive: McNabb's chest is "fine", they say, but being "McNabb fine" is not the same as being "healthy fine". :lmao:

started O'Sullivan over Big Ben last week and was happy. Love the extra points from those 7-15 yard bootleg rushes too.I am going with JT again vs the Saints hoping for a high scoring affair.
