Who's starting Lance Moore vs. the Falcons (1 Viewer)

I know he only got 4 targets last game, but word is out that Brees really trusts Moore among all the receivers there.

With D.Hall covering Colston, and not sure if Patten will get the same targets as last game, Moore could have his breakout game.

SHould be a high scoring game with Saints score possibly getting into the 30s.

Personally benching Lee Evans for Moore.

thoughts?

Marques Colston (back) was limited in practice Friday.

He was added to the injury report as probable. This is a concern, as Colston has not seemed himself after it was reported earlier this season that he's dealing with back trouble. He's still virtually certain to play versus Atlanta.

i think Moore makes a great play this week and kudos for the stones to put him in. i just wussed out and pulled him and inserted Marty Booker b/c he was higher on all the cheatsheets.

I do hope you are right though, and i could see this being his breakout week..

I picked him up and am playing him this weekend. We get points for kick/punt return yardage as well so I'm expecting a solid game.

I was rolling with you and Lance until Rudi's hammy took the turn for the worse. I've now got Watson over Moore, but definitely feeling the breakout from the Sir Lancelot.

I like Moore, but you do realize that this is a very risky move, yes?David Patten played well and had multiple catches for NO last week. WIth Moore, Patten, Henderson and Eric Johnson all complimenting Colston, who knows what Lance will do.I'd be fine rostering him, but not starting him until I see a solid game in the books.I would only play him if I had no other options and needed a big game from someone - but you have Evans. Risky play no matter how you slice it. To keep the statement general, roll the dice big time if you aren't favored to win. Otherwise, play the extras on your roster pretty conservatively.

no doubt it's a risky move, just playing my hunches.I know there's quite a few guys in NO. With that said, I'm not sure Patten duplicates what he did last week. As someone posted an another Moore post, he was the target for the TD that Colston got if not for the penalty. Everything i've heard is Payton wants to increase touches for this guy.Hall will be all over Colston, and Colston is no STUD so he can be taken out of the game unlike TO or Steve Smith, and that should leave Moore with more opportunities. Not sure I can start Lee Evans in a low-scoring affair vs. BAL. just going with my gut feeling.

Baltimore's pass defense isn't all that it is cracked up to be. Chris McAllister is also out this week.I'm not saying it is a :bag: to go with Evans here, but Braylon Edwards has had some nice games against Baltimore, for example, and that's in the heart of that tough defense.Bottom line to confuse you further - Baltimore is susceptible to the big play by a WR. Evans could easily break a long one on Sunday. If your league rewards long TDs with bonuses or 100 yard games, I'd go with Evans.

I'm starting him. He'd been getting a healthy number of targets the previous few games and although the targets came down last week he still scored on an end-around. With Hall working on Colston, I think there will be plenty of chances for Moore (and Patten) to shine in the passing game. Here's a look at what some non-No. 1 WRs have done against the Falcons this season:

Week 2: Reggie Williams TD

Week 3: Keary Colbert 3-52

Week 4: Kevin Walter 6-77

Week 5: Eric Moulds 4-31

Week 6: Toomer 7-89 TD

I threw out Week 1 because that was against the Vikings and their passing attack is pathetic. The two best passing offenses the Falcons have faced in my opinion have been Houston's and the Giants. And in both of those games, the No. 2 WRs had strong games. I think there's production to be had in the Atlanta secondary and I think there's enough for both Moore and Patten to make an impact. I don't think starting Moore in larger leagues is that much of a risk. He's proven to be either involved or productive (as in a touchdown) the past several games. So his scoring has been consistent from a fantasy standpoint. Brees clearly likes him which doesn't hurt either. I like him as a sleeper pick this week.

I'm starting him, but due to bye week depth. PPR, deep dynasty league...so, it's him over A. Battle, T. Williamson or Jac Jones. So, put me down as starting him, but I'm not a canidate in the "I'm starting him over a top player" column.
