Whose rolling with Reggie tonight? (1 Viewer)

Considering going with Reggie over M. Turner in a PPR. I probably won't, because I'm a wimp and I can always point to where I drafted them.

I'm excited to see how Reggie Bush reacts after this whole Heisman debacle and under the bight lights but....

MIN defense is still solid and he's still in a RBBC.

I'm NOT starting him over Rex Ryan's "bell cow" Shonn Greene even though BAL is a tough defense too and LT is a threat to steal some carries. But it's week 1 and I'm gonna stay with the guy I drafted higher until it's proven other wise.

In my PPR league I'm starting Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush over Marion Barber, Justin Forsett, and Thomas Jones.

minny rush def still very strong...it's their secondary that is not and might be where reggie gets his points.

in my non-PPR, i had to choose one for my flex:

reggie bush - RBBC, tough rush def, will get most points off of rec yards ?if will get a TD

marion barber - RBBC but playing a softer def and will get goalline touches

johnny knox - #1 WR playing a weak detroit def which may be a blowout, but chicago offense hasn't showed anything yet under martz..

i'm leaning towards barber now primarily in that i can change my mind and put in knox later. if i roll with reggie, then i'm committed. in the end, minny's def is what is scaring me away. i see big numbers for brees, colston, meachem, et al. reggie will get his rec. but not necessarily more than knox or compared tMB3's TD opportunities.

this is one of the frustrating things of having a good, deep draft....

I'm flipflopping between Bush and Green for this week. Baltimore is good, but they got ripped for over 100 by Benson twice and AP once, along with the Steelers, Bears and Lions as a team last year. Is Green as good as AP? No. Is he as good as Benson? At least as good if not better. So I'll be going with Green for now, but may be kicking myself later, as my league rewards double points for RB rec TD's but no yards until 100.

I have both Thomas and Bush in a PPR and started Bush and then switched to Thomas. My first instinct said Bush due to the PPR and I can see a lot of passes to him out of the backfield. I'm more or less guessing. I think Thomas is a safe play and Bush is a serious homerun or dud. I'm playing safe for now, however I'm still debating.I just switched back to Reggie which is risky I know, howver I have Peterson and Harrison as my other 2 backs. I'm going to swing for the fences I guess. I know it's risky.
its hard for me to reconcile that every preseason projection had pierre much higher, and his adp was 30 spots higher. yet somehow bush is the better start this week. i just dont understand it.

I'm so conflicted and I have 15 minutes to decide before I go to coach football. PPR and I have CJ, and Pierre starting but debating putting in Bush or starting him over Crabtree as my flex

I would say it is a combination of the situational game tonight and how Bush has been looking in the preseason. As far as the game tonight Minny is real strong against the run. So the thought is to throw it outside to Bush. I think it is a toss up on who to play. In PPR I would definitely lean towards Reggie.

Good Post and exactly my thought process. I know there is a chance I'll be upset with taking Bush over Thomas, but I agree with Reggie being used a lot tonight in the passing game. I think Minny brings the heat tonight too, so dump offs and hot reads to Bush could be happening a lot tonight.
Thomas catches balls as well, and will most certainly get more of the carries..

Him or Pierre in a PPR league.
I don't think it's even close in ppr scoring. Minn is tough against the run, Brees will be passing lots. Reggie will probably line up wr lots.
I am starting him over Moreno in a .5 ppr league. Although I still have reservations... this is the Minny D he's going against and not Chicago :football: The deciding factor for me was Moreno's lack of work in the preseason and his dubious hammy. If I knew he was healthy I would probably go with Moreno.

Is this the Reggie Bush owners meeting? If so, what type of league and what round did you steal him this year? I got him in the 6th round of 12 team PPR.

6th or 7th in non PPR. Would anyone take a chance on him over Barber/Bradshaw?

Just pulled Barber for him in my PPR perf league. Hoping for a 50yd run/catch TD!! Plus needed someone to root for tonight

I am convinced PT slept with the head coach's wife. Bush has been in all 1st quarter possesions with perhaps the exception of maybe two plays!

supposedly Saints are abandoning the run game for the most part and letting Brees beat up on the Vikings DB's. Basically what was mentioned just before halftime.. good for Bush obviously bad for PT.. stay tuned :bag:

if saints get a nice lead they will pound pierre. that has always been their philosophy, and it is a very smart one. last yr the endgame pounding was split between bell hamilton pierre and a bit of bush. this yr many of us banked on it being mainly pierre.

further, this balance is not really sustainable and likely a result of their opponent having such a great run d. again, it comes down to the saints success at getting nice leads. in 07 and 08 they did not run much, in my mind, bc they did not have leads and were often chasing. in 06 and 09 they were much more balanced bc they were in the position where running the ball made sense, ie they were winning games.

thats my story. could be way off.

REGGIE REGGIE REGGIE.

There is a reason NO kept Reggie at a high salary and laughed at pt's request for more.
this may have been a bit premature...

PT:

8 carries, 2 rec, 42 yards 1 TD

10 touches

Bush

2 carries, 4 rec, 46 yards 0 TD

6 touches

To lazy to figure out the targets...

Overall not a bad game from Bush. I thought he looked good when given the opportunity but he just didn't get too many looks.

Thomas is definitely the bell cow here in regards to carries and it looks like Bush will make a great RB3/Flex every week.

12 team redraft, .5 PPR, start 2 RB, no flex. He fell all the way to me @ 8.08. I thought about taking him as soon as Rd 6, but needed WRs; was very surprised he fell that far.

Bush will have some stinkers for sure and in non-ppr leagues is a total gamble.

But in a ppr league, Bush had a decent night, despite having 7 touches.

The good news is that he looked really good tonight. I expect his touches to only go up from here.

I have Reggie and Pierre in a non-PPR. Receiving TDs for RBs are worth an extra 3 points in my league.Pierre did score a receiving TD last year however.Right now I have Pierre in but may switch.
Every time I do that, it always bites me in the ###!
I owe you a beer dude! Swear to God I was about to switch when I read your post and I said to myself, "Groin Pains is right. I'm gonna keep Pierre in."Week one is too early to start yanking guys you took in round three or four.Sweating that first half was tough though... :hot:

Problem is there are so many people on that team that will get touches. Who do you take them from. There didn't look to be a weak link last night. Every WR and RB on the field for NO was solid... They can get more touches as a team by sustaining more drives but I don't think all those touches go to Bush. Bush did well and could certainly handle more touches, his touches will likely be around 7-13 touches a game. 13 would be a really good game for him. Unless PT goes down...

I wonder why they only rushed Reggie twice.... His two runs were for 8 yards and 6 yards. He looked good on both.... one was nice edge blocking, but he motored to the outside for a nice gain and the other was up the gut where he ran downhill well and looked good.... Maybe should have mixed him in a little more?

I like the Saint's strategy of getting a lead and pounding PT... it makes sense.. but I don't think Bush even had a carry in the 2nd half... why not give him 2 or 3 more mixed in with PT to keep the D on their toes?

The good news is Bush barely touched the ball and still had almost 10 points in PPR format. No one except Thomas really had good stats for the Saints be it a WR/TE/QB...no one was explosive. Thomas ends up with possible top12 numbers this week.

Sedrick Ellis tied or came close to Colston and other defenders did better than him. When a DT equals a WR it's news.

Both pretty efficient then. Like most of the NO WR's...

Bush & PT owner here in PPR 10 man league. Started Reggie (Benched P.Thomas) with regards to the Viking rush Defense. I lost the points for the night with my lineup choice but felt very good knowing that Pierre looked very solid and hopefully for weeks to come barring any injury. I think PT might be a great value overall to comparative backs at his price in my auction draft. I got him for $20 in $200 Auction and R. Bush for $13 BTW.

Now just need a Jonothan Stewart stellar year and dare I say..........................Championship!!
