Why do we hate domestic violence? (1 Viewer)

Why did you bring up homosexuals when talking about women and domestic violence?
Women and homosexuals have extra protection in American society. You guys are all old and got to grow up in a world where fair was fair.I have to deal with all this dumb ### liberal nonsense. I made my point on the subject and then gave an additional example to.bring the point I was trying to drive home full circle.
I'm maybe a couple years older than you.I don't really think homosexuals get special treatment but I don't look into the issue that much. If anything I would guess women and homosexuals are treated as less than equals all things considered.
So you're suggesting that maybe I'm just an #######? I guess once I finally learn to let the little princesses prance around without consequence, I'll be much happier? Reverse equality, expect no accountability but pretend everyone has equal rights. Is that about right, or?
Settle down man, I'm just giving you my perspective.
No, no I'm being serious you have made me think a little bit. I guess the idea that men are supposed to protect the weaker humans gives men more privilege than others.I have met a few girls who deserve to get their ### beat though. ;)
You don't really have to protect them, you just have to not punch them in the face. Not a lot to ask imo. Ya there are some women who will talk #### to get at you because they know you can't hit them. That's where you get to demonstrate your maturity and ignore it.
The last part is where my objection takes place. Since men are the ones who have to "be mature" it allows women to get away with things we'd beat the #### out of another dude for.

You give an inch, they take a foot.

Again, all of this is fine. But don't come at me about equality when I see women consistently using their unspoken protection to.their advantage. If you want to be a beautiful little flower, by all means go for it. I will treat you like one. But if you want to be a "bad #####" prepare to be treated like o
no wonder chicks beat you up!

:lmao: My comment got deleted.

ETA: Good stuff. We're allowed to make anti-gay posts, but can't ask that person what their sexual preferences are?
As did my reply to your post. Em quick with the report button and has the mods on speed dial. :lmao:

As someone who has seen what Eminence looks like on one of his lame Youtube videos I got a chuckle out of "we'd beat the #### out of another dude for."

Pretty sure most kids in middle school could take ya, buddy. But good luck with your tough-guy macho man shtick. :lmao:

Why does domestic violence seemingly get singled out for special treatment? Shouldn't we oppose all violence?

I was reading an article calling for Hope Solo to be benched by US Soccer because she has been charged with "domestic violence" for allegedly beating up her nephew and his mom. It happens to fall under the moniker of domestic violence presumably because it took place between family members. But, the article seemed to take special note of the domestic part of the charge, and less so the violence. The author has a family member killed via domestic violence, and wanted to take a stand for that reason.

What if Solo was out at a bar, and got into an altercation with a random 17-yo and his mom - would anybody care?

Same thing with the Ray Rice situation - it seemingly became a bigger-than-life deal because it was "domestic violence" rather than simply knocking out some dude. You certainly get the impression that if this was some scrawny dude that Rice knocked out, he would not have missed any time.

Now, I understand the need to accent domestic violence from the standpoint that historically, domestic violence is under-reported, and allowed to continue as a result, and that, in the past, authorities may have shied away from getting involved in marital disputes. But, it seems we are placing too much emphasis on the domestic part, and not enough on the violence part of the charge.
Agree 100%

Em, I really don't see women taking advantage of this 'unspoken advantage' very often. If you do, maybe there's something you're doing that's partly to blame too.

But I've contributed to this thread hijacking for too long now, I'm out.

3rd. We need to make our own lobbyist group to protect men's rights. We can call it the 'No Ma'am Club'.

Seriously, don't see this often. I had an ex GF that had a violent streak when she got drink. But she was tiny, it wasn't that hard to deal with her without having to hit her.

I don't want to involve myself with Eminence's absurd argument, but I do want to respond to the OP.

I think it's because in most cases of domestic violence, it's private. And the woman or children involved are helpless to prevent it because they're physically weaker than the man. So that pisses most people off whenever we learn about it, and that's right I think. It's not violence we hate; it's injustice. You don't go around beating up those who can't fight back.

My problem with it is that it makes women think they can never do anything wrong. Like, they want equality but think they can waltz around treating people like dirt.

If a man pushes me, strikes me, provokes me. I am 100% able to retaliatory without being a pariah.

If a woman pushes me, strikes me, provokes me. I am not allowed to retaliate in any matter.

That's not how equality works. Obviously there are situations in which men are mentally and physically abusive but I have seen situations where women are the aggressor.

I am telling you, women and homosexuals have waaay too much protection legally in this day of age.
A woman and a man is not usually a fair fight. A woman would probably beat the #### out of you though.
Like a normal size man vs Em. It just isn't fair.

To say that men and women are equals, that they should receive equal pay but not be held responsible for the same social consequences is

laughable.

A ######## regardless of gender is entitled to a

punch in their face to put them in line. Law of the jungle.
You should actually pay attention in class.
You're asking quite a bit here. He has enough trouble just paying JC tuition.

Seriously guys, OP had a valid point to prove and I don't want to derail the conversation.

Please send any more comments or feedback directly to PM. Thanks fellas.
