Why does every free agent and trade rumor involve the Cowboys (1 Viewer)

Every single free agent or trade to be involves the Cowboys. A team that has made little moves in free agency. First it was Moss, Fitz, Roy Williams (the good one) DJ Hackett - also Deangelo Hall etc....Do they even have any cap room available. I think it will be great if they go into next year with Crayton "the drop" and Owens again.

First off, every single trade or rumor doesn't involve the Cowboys. However, they do have a dynamic owner and it's fact that he goes after what he thinks may better his team. He's not the only guy like this but he's one of them, so you hear a lot about them. Also, everyone knows they've been at least looking for a solid WR to add to the roster and that they have 2 No. 1 picks this year, so they have a little ammo to throw around for the right situation.

Because Cowboy fans are dumb enough to believe them and if enough names get thrown out they may get one right.

It's very likely that the Agents for these players could be the ones floating/starting these rumours. This creates some buzz and interest for their clients. Dallas being a desirable location and competitive team makes them a good team to implicate.

Just my $0.02.

If it is the agents creaing the buzz then the media is a fault for not using them as a source. I think it is media speculation and sports reporting has turned into the new The National Inquirer.

i heard last night that the boys were looking to sign pennington and are after ricky williams.

maybe i shouldnt listen to drunk people drinking green beer.

:goodposting: Yeah.....just like my Raiders. Al and Jerry are cut from the same cloth, they are go-getters who want the best players in the world donning their uniforms........and the mass media tends to throw these types of teams (owners) into the mix whenever a top player is (even potentially) available. Love 'em or hate 'em kind of guys (and teams), it goes with the territory.

I'm not really sure....if you haven't won a playoff game in like 12 years are you "competitive"?.

That's harsh bro! (but true) They did at least make it to the playoffs the last two years, so I think that would put them in the competitive category.

Ok so now Hall signed with Da RAIDAHS. One more definate Dallas signing turns to mush - again, nobody seems to know - does Dallas have any cap space - I didnt think so. Moss out; Fitz out; Hall out; Walker out; DJ Hackett out; .....now I am reading about Boldin to the 'girls. It just doesn't end.......

Well the Cowboys are the most loved and hated team so any type of trade rumor involving them brings up strong opinions and emotions and makes great news.

But it is true! The media is just trying to simplify their job, cover one or two teams and forget the rest just like baseball and basketball.

Because there are billions of Cowboy fans, and they all seem to truly believe they're one piece of the puzzle away from going to the Superbowl. Sadly, none of them can agree on what that piece is.
