Why does Ronnie Brown get ranked so low? (1 Viewer)

Here are his fantasy points per game over the last 3 seasons:

I understand the issue with Brown. The guy can't stay healthy for a full season. But when he is healthy, he's a consistent producer.

This week, he's ranked 29th. Anyone else think he ends up in the top-15

I totally agree and got him cheap wherever possible, but I'm benching him against the Vikings this week for Santana Moss. Against most matchups, I think he's a low-end RB1/high end RB2. This week I think he's more of an emergency RB2/decent RB3.

May I add...sharing w/R. Williams, 1st Viking home game & Rushing Defense little pissed off what Saints did to them in 2nd half last week.

I'm actually doing the same. It's not like Brown is getting a clear majority of the carries and he's going against one of the best run defenses. The best I can see him do is 70 yards on 15 carries and maybe a TD or two but to have Minnesota give up two rushing TDs AND have them both go to Ronnie Brown is asking for a bit much I think. His schedule this year is brutal too so you face this problem in a lot of weeks. He needs his carries and TDs to be productive but Williams really limits his productivity.

Week 1

18 carries for Ricky

13 carries for Ronnie

5 carries for Michael Bivins and the East Coast Family

Many prognosticators had anticipated a 60-40 split in touches between Brown and Williams, but the numbers in Week 1 didn't bear that out. It is worth mentioning that Brown got 8 touches to Williams' 6 in the first half, and also got the goal-line TD. Perhaps the Dolphins want to go easy with Brown in the early part of the season, and ramp him up down the stretch.

Yes, Miami does have a brutal schedule, but they have some plum matchups down the stretch.

10 Sun Nov 14 1:00 pm Tennessee Titans

11 Thu Nov 18 8:20 pm Chicago Bears

12 Sun Nov 28 4:05 pm at Oakland Raiders

13 Sun Dec 5 1:00 pm Cleveland Browns

14 Sun Dec 12 4:15 pm at New York Jets

15 Sun Dec 19 1:00 pm Buffalo Bills

16 Sun Dec 26 1:00 pm Detroit Lions

Assuming he's healthy, Brown could produce Top 10 numbers easily in the FF playoffs. Weather is unlikely to be a factor in those games, so that's an added plus.

Yes, and it wasn't just Ricky getting garbage-time carries. They were splitting the workload right from the outset. The Dolphins had a 36-34 run-pass ratio last week because the Bills were so terrible. But they're likely to get about 60 offensive plays this week instead of 70, and as a six-point dog to Minnesota, will probably pass more than they run.I think it's realistic to project about 28 rushing plays for the Dolphins this week — maybe 25 for the RBs as a group — which means about 11–12 runs each for Brown and Williams (and 1–2 for Polite).Add in 2–3 receptions for Brown for maybe 14 touches total, and it's hard to see getting a big fantasy day out of him.JMHO.

He's playing against the Williams WALL. I don't think he will crack the top 20 this week.
Vikings fan here who didn't think the Williams wall looked so imposing last week. NO moved our DL around like bags of trash. I think Brown is ranked too low this week too.

You can question his durability but there's no denying this guy has been very good when healthy.

I'd stillbench him against the Vikings. He's sitting in favor of McFadden.

Fourteen touches on the dot. (Pretty good yards-per-carry, though, owing to the 51-yard scamper.)
