Yea.. After a while you learn who the "trolls" are and just ignore 99.9% of their posts.. I guess you could use the ignore function..
But have never used it myself as, once in a Blue Moon, they might actually post something worthwhile..

Just have to learn to :shrug: off the bitter/rude/insult comments.

Enough of this kumbaya nonsense, let's ask the important questions of this cat.  If you're an "official FBG Apps Beta Tester" HTF did you let this last board upgrade slip through?  It's horrible, the app is horrible, everything internet computery about this place is pretty horrible..

Sure, I've figured out who most of those are. Only just a few weeks ago I put someone on ignore. Frst time for everything. 

 
Where is the friend button these days? Somebody needs a hug and I can't find it. Ruffy, is that the kind of stuff a Beta Tester would know?

As far as I am aware none of us that are volunteering to test FBG apps were asked to test the "downgrade." I am on record, having posted in the Bored Upgrade discussion and the FAQ discussion, as not caring for it one bit. I agree...it's horrible.

Testers run new yearly apps to look for glitches and whatnot. I've participated for 2 years testing the Mobile Dominator and Magazine, plus took a good look at the Cracking FanDuel/Draftkings guides from last year.

What's the purpose of having an alias anyway?  Aren't we all alias'?  Never made sense to me that JoeDip####, who no one knows in real life, doesn't want to tarnish his FBG image by saying something derogatory so he needs to make up another fake name to post under so no one knows that it's really JoeDip####'s crazy opinion?  So bizarre to me.

 
This guy is the man. I think the lunatics with agendas stick out. I like bantering with the people who are objective and like debating things through facts, most notably numbers.

Numbers and proven correlation = a winning argument. Too much ad hominem from people here.

Eh, I don't think it's excellent to start a thread and then disappear and not reply to others questions or comments. I've got nothing to hide. Even outed my alias. I won't be pulling the wool over anyone's eyes.

It's the worst of both worlds really. The PC police around here take their jobs very seriously so we've lost a lot of the good natured ribbing that used to take place. Now it's nastier and not really funny. I'd call it b*tch humor but I'm sure that would offend some, so I won't. 

 
The entire board will be in better shape in about 8 months when Trump goes back to being a Democratic businessman.

While I have been commenting (posting) a little more recently I almost always find myself hesitating for fear of being ridiculed or lambasted for having an opinion. Not because of my beliefs but because it seems to be (actually is) the status quo these days to rip somebody a new one just because you can.....bannings/suspensions be damned. This type of interaction and behaviour appears to be humorous to a lot of you.

This type of attitude has now filtered into the SP on a more regular basis. Very, very sad.

For those of you lamenting the decline of the FFA may I suggest turning your inquiries on yourself. "What have I done or said lately to indicate I'm trying to be excellent to others?" "What can I do to change peoples perceptions of myself and this board?"

The back-and-forth nastiness is disgusting. I don't know, maybe this place has turned a corner and is lost and cannot get back on track. Sure, the new board upgrade has driven some folks away but I would bet that the downright ugliness shown to others by many of you is a very major factor in the decline that has been noted recently.

This nastiness and ugliness and all-around non-excellence being displayed towards each other is the main reason I do not express my views here more often. Heck, I might surprise some of you folks with my opinions, beliefs and thoughts....but you'll never find out because I feel it's not worth my time to weed through all the other stuff. 

So, this is just one persons thoughts on the decline of the FFA and why/how it affects me.

This board would be a lot kinder and gentler if we could get some chicks to hang around.  Chicks always (almost) class a place up.  Sadly, word of GM's virility has gotten out and no self respecting, non-baby wanting woman will chance visiting here.

I think the majority of the posters here are genuinely good people and that it's usually shtick from a handful that tends to crowd the place.

Had a crazy wife that said he molested his daughter.   Doc agreed based on her red from from peepee in her pants hoo-ha and pressure from wife who was present and wife's cousin who was a cop or something.  4 y/o daughter tells judge RR didn't violate her in anyway.   Judge forces DA to drop case.  Daughter now believes she was abused after years of her mother telling her she was.

Jesus Christ, man.  We are dudes.  We listen, we help, we show compassion and empathy.  But we also bust balls.  It's how some of us cope and some of us communicate.  Nigel in particular will be a great person to offer insight and thoughts.  But he will also bust balls to show that the world is a crazy, weird, funny, and arbitrary and capricious place. We can't take ourselves too seriously, even when we are being very serious.

So . . . stick around, man.  You'll get good insight, and when you start to get a little silly, people will call you on it, and help bring you back to the present.

That's my take, anyway.  Good luck, dude.

I'm not making a "big deal" out of this example Bob......just pointing out an example in this thread. There are other examples in this thread that I didn't respond to. There are (obviously) much harsher examples of non-excellence displayed towards others abundantly available all over the FFA, but I'm not inclined to cross-reference them here. You good folks know where to find them.

 
Why I post here:

1- To save money. (Cut the Cable Thread)

2- To make money. (FFAWT, not really I don't make any money)

3- Current Events:

a) TV Shows. (This is a great place to find threads to gauge new shows or even shows from the past that you've missed and whether they are worth checking out)

b) News. (I don't regularly read news sites or subscribe to the newspaper.  There usually will be a thread started here for any breaking news and you can join in a discussion about it if you choose.  I do watch the national news on tv every weekday night though.)

c) Social news. (I don't subscribe to ANY social media, period.  If anything has gone viral there will usually be a thread about it.)

4- Misc. (BBQ recipes, travel tips, product reviews and recommendations, etc.)

5- Yoga Pants. (nuff said)
