Why no Schaub love? (1 Viewer)

I'm really surprised by the lack of love for Schaub this year. He's got good weapons with A. Johnson and O. Daniels, a questionable run game and a horrid pass defense so they'll need to continue to pass into the 4th qtr every game (see last year). Last year was his 1st year as a starter and he obviously got hurt but played a number of his games without his best weapon (AJ) and still had a decent season (143 pts in 11 games). If you combine his and Rosenfelds stats from last year they come in at 287 pts which was good for 10th last year.

His current ADP is QB17 and with a healthy AJ, another year as a starter under his belt I don't see how he doesn't offer tremendous value where he's being drafted. So what am I missing? Where's the love?

Some guys just fly under the radar. He made my top 10.

1---Tom Brady

2---Tony Romo

3---Drew Brees

4---Peyton Manning

5---Ben Roethlisberger

6---Jay Cutler

7---Kurt Warner

8---Aaron Rodgers

9---Matt Schaub

10--Jon Kitna

He's in my top 10 QBs, plenty of love here. His ADP is undoubtedly based on his injury problems last year. But as you indicated, Rosenfels is a quality backup, and great last round insurance.

Besides, isn't a lower ADP better anyway? That way you can let him slip, then pounce.

I'm running the Schaub/Rodgers platoon this year with no regrets at all (w/ Campbell in tow for the Week 8 double bye)

I guess health/durability is still the main concern here, plus the fact that AJ always seems to get dinged up. But I love his weapons (Daniels is easily in the 2nd tier of TEs and Walter is a nice possession WR), I think Kubiak knows what he's doing, and if they can get any semblance of a running game, I see no reason why Schaub can't be a top 8-10 QB if healthy.

I totally agree and it's the strategy I'm employing in every league. He's a #1QB at a #2 price.

I think you touched on it. The fact that you have to combine Schaub's stats with Rosenfels to get top 10 numbers in '07 speaks volumes. I agree with you though. For those of us who are waiting until late to draft QB - I think a combo platter of Schaub, Delhomme and/or Rodgers will work out just fine this year.

I think Schaub is the perfect #2 QB in a QBBC, as long as you can carry Rosenfels. He didn't throw for less than 225 in any game he finished last year, including two that he barely threw in during the second half (ok, he was knocked out of three games), and his backup, Sage Rosenfels, threw at least one TD in every game he started. Schaub takes huge hits to make plays, so once again, he'll miss some time.

I've got the Jake/Matt combo. I like Jake more than Rodgers and no bye week conflict.

I gave him the love. I have him as my #2 QB in 2 QB league.

Also, I almost pick him up as my #3 QB in another but Warner was better choice with huge upside.

I had Schaub targeted to be my #1 QB. Thought he was great value and had tremendous upside potential. Figured, if I grabbed him in Round 9 (about a round before he seemed to be going at the time), I'd have myself a steal. Then he goes in Round 8.

Probably my biggest lament of the draft this year...that said, I feel pretty good about my QB situation with E. Manning, Bulger and Warner.

But I do think he's in for a coming out type of year and he'll be a consensus QB1 next year...

I've got Palmer and Schaub and Rodgers... the problem is all 3 have the same bye week... bah

I waited on a QB in both leagues this year & wound up with Schaub as my QB1 in both. With that said, I'm still a little gun shy of starting him this week against the Steelers. I'd like to see how he does in his first week before he gets the automatic start.

My other options are Eli Manning vs. the Skins & Jon Kitna vs. the Falcons. I like those matchups better.

That just caught my eye. You not only managed to get Warner, but the two QBs that actually replaced him in STL and NYG. Quite the coincidence.

I went with a Schaub/Kitna combo for the season. Hoping that if I play it right I will get some very good QB numbers this season

Yeah, but no way I'm grabbing Brian St. Pierre

I had Schaub ranked #9.

I ended up being the last to take a QB in my main league, so I waited 1 more round then grabbed Schaub in the 8th. I followed up w/ Eli in the 9th & I'm pretty happy with that duo.

Guys like Favre, Hasselbeck, McNabb, Garrard went 1-3 rounds before Schaub. I would not be comfortable w/ any of those guys, I just don't get it.

I'm not sure I can start Schaub week 1 at Pitt, still mulling that one over.

I had intended to take Schaub in 9 as my QB1 but Peyton was there at 2.05 in 12 team 6pt TD league. I then got Schaub in 11th as QB2. Normally a very competitive league but Kitna went in 5th so I dont know.

Does Schaub/Rogers platoon beat Garrard/Kitna. I see both as very close. Schaub slightl risk with health of Andre Johnson.Garrard: Can his rush yardage make up for low Td passesKitna: Is Kitna going to reduce his mistakesRogers: Looks solid, will the crowd get in his head?

This is exactly what happened to me. I ended up getting Warner and McNabb. The guy who took Shaub said he didn't see McNabb or he would have taken him instead, so I offered a trade and I'm sure he'll try to ###rape me. If so I'll stick with what I have.

I need him to pan out. Unlike Kitna last year. I think it could happen but it's looking like a 50/50 thing to me.

I'm running w/ a Cutler / Schaub QBBC in one league. I made a mistake on my draft cheat sheet & put in the wrong Bye week for Cutler, so I didn't realize until after picking Schaub late that both have the same Bye in week 8. I'll either need to trade or pick up some scrub to start week 8. I'm planning to start Schaub @ Pitt week 1 since that game at least has the chance of becoming a shoot-out; I expect both Denv & Oak to run the rock a lot.

My guys this year are Cutler and Schaub, and I am thrilled. I am laughed at every year for waiting too long on QBs, yet seem to end the year with a top 5 guy (Big Ben, Vick, etc). I predict that both of these QBs will be Top 10 MINIMUM. As mentioned, grab Sage in the last round for the cheapest insurance plan ever.

Schaub is :goodposting:

eta - Cutler and Schaub in different leagues

16 team league and i missed out on the runs, so i ended up with schaub/edwards platoon. here's hoping AJ and schaub stay healthy.

I am in the same boat! Grabbed Cutler then schaub late in the draft!! To me this will be the best QBBC by far FF this year as both have a GREAT SHOT to finish in the top ten at qb.
