Why not trade Warner, suppose you're Dennis Green (1 Viewer)

Trade deadline is very soon. Who is their 3rd QB Navarre? If Leinart gets hurt, with their record, probably best to get Navarre (or whomever it is)some time.

Although I'm oddly confident in Matt Cassel I could see the need for a vet backup. The Giants had a cruddy line last time Warner was there and his thumb was busted up. They're "done" if Eli goes down and Lorenzen comes in. What do the Chargers do if Rivers gets hurt? As much as the Broncos love Cutler, what if his first start happens to be a playoff game? Pretty tough assignment for a rook.

Seems like a whole bunch of good teams could use a veteran backup and he's got Supe experience. Won't Warner just walk after this year anyhow?

ETA I do understand NFL isn't FF and probably a fair example is the last in season Giants trade was OJ Anderson. However, a move for a vet QB doesn't seem so unheard of

the Chargers have Volek, and the Giants have already been through the Kurt Warner experiment.

I say send him back to his roots in STL, but ARI will probably keep him around to 'mentor' Lineart.

I think he will hang around the rest of this year and be a mentor but then he will retire.

BUT i could be wrong and if he gets trade I would say the most likely team might be San Fran. or maybe the Vikes.

I doubt they could get enough in return to make it worth doing. I'm sure he is helping Lienart.

He is reportedly thinking of retirement and doesn't like being a backup. I don't think anyone would make a trade for Warner (well, except for maybe Jerry Jones) :D

What has Brenda Warner said about this?? I have always been under the impression that she is the one in charge. Reminds me of Lauren Holly's character in Any Given Sunday......

Bill Bidwell, possibly the cheapest owner in the league, is going to eat all of the bonus money he paid to Warner 6 months ago to get a 2nd day draft pick next year? Ah...no.

They'll let him retire and recoup that money rather than get a 5th rounder next eyar.

Yeah, much better to have an old, immoblie QB that is EXTREMELY turnover prone that doesn't quite know the offense or the receivers to start a playoff game instead of Cutler. Please Shanny, oh please trade a draft pick for Warner.

If they got the right offer it might be worth it. Does Warner's bonus money accelerate into this year's cap or next? They have the room to do it this year. Rohan Davey is at home looking at his #3 QB phone waiting for it to ring.
