Trade deadline is very soon. Who is their 3rd QB Navarre? If Leinart gets hurt, with their record, probably best to get Navarre (or whomever it is)some time.
Although I'm oddly confident in Matt Cassel I could see the need for a vet backup. The Giants had a cruddy line last time Warner was there and his thumb was busted up. They're "done" if Eli goes down and Lorenzen comes in. What do the Chargers do if Rivers gets hurt? As much as the Broncos love Cutler, what if his first start happens to be a playoff game? Pretty tough assignment for a rook.
Seems like a whole bunch of good teams could use a veteran backup and he's got Supe experience. Won't Warner just walk after this year anyhow?
ETA I do understand NFL isn't FF and probably a fair example is the last in season Giants trade was OJ Anderson. However, a move for a vet QB doesn't seem so unheard of
