Why the hell do they keep recommending Daniel Jones start every week. (1 Viewer)

We all fall prey to this mindset. Being an "expert" doesn't mean someone isn't susceptible to bias. I think it's fair to say that most people thought Daniel Jones would be a whole lot better than what he has been so far.

The question really is who is on the other end of this equation? IOW who are they recommending him over? And if you have Jones what are your other options?

I've had this same question every week as well, and I look for somewhere to turn off the advice of any staff member who recommends this.

I haven't found anywhere to do that yet (except in the rankings), so I try to make a mental note to ignore anything that staff member says.

In my case in the two leagues I have him, I've seen him recommended to start over Fields and Tua.

He hasn’t done much of anything and he looked really ****ty last week. Check my dominator this morning, again “start D. Jones”.

Idiots.
One of the few QBs that can rush for 100 yards 1 TD in any given week. However the odds are it's not likely to happen lol

They also are masochists.

His rushing adds to his projected totals. His opponent this week (Buffalo) is also ranked #30 in FF points allowed to QBs. I get that he has had one good FF game this year and 3 stinkers but as soon as you give up on him he will hit a monster game. I have him as my QB2 and I feel the pain but it also wouldn't surprise my if he put up 30 points this week if they are playing from behind against Buffalo and he is running and throwing every down trying to keep up. Of course his OL better figure out how to protect a little.

Just a heads up he plays the dolphins this week

For everyone apologizing for his ranking... The giants have had one half of offense the entire season. As a team. Playing anyone on that offense aside from a high volume starting rb (Barkley in this case) until proven otherwise outside of desperation is just nonsense.

I had him last year, also this year. He’s nothing more than a bye week filler at this point. I started him twice last year, both times was bad. I get it with the run opportunities, but Giants not named Barkley are a tough start.

I thought he’d be better too. Planned on him being my starter, that didn’t work out. Because of where I drafted, I didn’t have a lot of options, at QB and ended up with G. Smith, M. Stafford, D. Jones, and R. Tannehill. since the start of the season, M. Jones was briefly on my’ team, and now I’ve added Stroud. Every week, every single week, they projected +20 points for D. Jones. We know how that’s gone. I really thought I had a viable choice between Smith and D. Jones this year.

That’s why I can’t figure out why they ranked him so high, I watched that last game, and it was pretty clear that the O line stinks. The experts should have figured that out by week 3.

But ostensibly that’s why I pay for football guys. I posted my options on another reply, and they’re not lustrous, but the site also recommends FAs over rostered players, right? So they’ve recommended him over everybody in the league not rostered and my roster. 8 team league, 20 player roster, and he’s at QB27 after 4 weeks. Maybe I should go back over the weeks to find that one expert (was there one? I don’t remember, I think they all kept pushing Jones) who had another option for me. Depending on how that QB has been doing of course.

His W/L record in primetime is atrocious & he's like 0-7 on Monday night. Not after all of them, but I wonder how he's done in the last 4 or 5 gms following Monday night?

First thing fantasy "experts" do when they buy a new car is remove the rear-view mirrors.

NOBODY can predict this stuff... and thank god... imagine how f*****g boring this hobby would be if every player panned out per the predictions.

If you are starting Daniel Jones... you need a new eyeball tester. Can't blame anyone else for that.

Do they also paint over the windshield with black paint?

Every week is a clean slate. There are no "wrong" predictions in fantasy football world... players just didn't "perform up to expectations", or "game script got them", or "failed to take advantage of a juicy match-up", or "he got nicked up", or "solar flares"... it doesn't matter. Nobody looks back.

It's like regenerating virginity with this stuff... everyone is "credible" and nobody ever loses their credibility.

It's all a crap shoot. Just fun to talk about. That's why it's so popular... fun.
