Plus he's never missed a game. People like that kind of thingDoesn't take much to get a QB in once they have two rings.
Have to agree with this. He's going to have the compiled numbers to be among the tops to ever play. He has two super bowl rings. Normally I'd say that is plenty to get in. But to me, he's never passed the eye test. I agree he's never been considered one of the best in the game at the time, and I wouldn't consider him elite. But, if I was a betting man I'd say he makes it.Eli is a strange case. My gut tells me that he makes it but it would be amazing to have a Hall of Fame QB who was never once considered one of the five best players at his position while he played.
Tell that to Jim Plunkett.Doesn't take much to get a QB in once they have two rings.
Did you not watch either of those SB runs? Yes, the defense was huge.. as was Eli's clutch play.,He was perhaps the single most influential player for both those SBs.defense won those two Giants Super Bowls
Manning just got the credit
This is simply insane. Maybe we'd have gotten one. Maybe we'd have none. No way we have a third when the defense has been the primary heel for this team over the past few years. Two championships, sure, but we'd have had more if we kept Rivers.
Is that b/c Jones is typically a black person name and black people can't play qb?Yes because his last name is Manning. If he was Eli Jones I don't believe he would.
Yes, sir.Is that b/c Jones is typically a black person name and black people can't play qb?
Did the playoff games leading up to that not mean anything? Dallas, Green Bay in particular? The pass attempt before the Helmet Catch, Eli threw the ball directly at Asante Samuel for the game ending INT. Awful decision. Went right through his hands. Samuel makes that catch and they replace Eli within two seasons and he's never heard from again. That would have been his defining "clutch play."
I give him no credit.
i think he's a hall of famer. So is Ben Rothlisberger. I think they're in the same mold.My friend (who is a passionate Giants fan) thinks there is no doubt the Eli Manning will get into the hall of fame. What do you think?
Outside of the rapey past thing.i think he's a hall of famer. So is Ben Rothlisberger. I think they're in the same mold.
Disagree strongly with this and your Rivers post.
In Eli's defense, he has not until very recently been in anything close to a rating friendly system. Lotta running and throwing it deep. Not that I subscribe to the notion that Passer Rating is the end all, be all but in terms of career rating, Eli ranks 38th all time.....
Right in between Mark Brunell and Sam Bradford.
ok we got Dr Eyenstine over here, why don't you just invent this fancy pants math machine yourself? You are as dumb as a Pole.It would be a nice addition to the board functionality if there was a way to capture the opinions of the board collectively/quantitatively. Something like where a poster could enter a question and answer choices, and then all the board members could vote on their answer choice and it would display the results.
how much?Due to recent current FBG events, I'll need to check credentials, but if you pass - I'll happily take on any bet with me on the side that says he is in.
