Will Peyton Break the TD record? (1 Viewer)

While that rushing TD cost him a passing TD - that was a thing of beauty. Very rarely is virtually everyone on the entire defense completely shuked, but they were. Awesomeness with extra awesome sauce.
Totally agree. Even the camerman was faked out -- followed the play into the pile as Manning snuck off screen. So good.

Manning on pace for 58.

To break the record, he needs 22 TD passes over the next 8 games, or an average of 2.75 per. Some quality offenses up next in KC twice, NE, and TEN (all top 10 in terms of pass TD allowed).

If he gets 4 against the Chargers I like his chances even with the good defenses coming up.

Chargers - 4Chiefs - 2Pats - 3Chiefs - 2Titans - 2Chargers- 4Texans - 2Raiders - 3
I wouldn't be surprised if Peyton goes nuts in one of the KC games. Maybe a stinker in one, with some picks and a few TDs. Then a big game in the other, say 4 TDs.

I'm beginning to think Manning throws a few picks intentionally - you know, just to keep things interesting...

"Coach, sorry about that pick - now we're down a few points, I should throw even more now to get us caught up, right?"

[/sarcasm]

Agreed. They dusted off Jason Campbell and he threw for 293 and 2 against this vaunted KC defense, in KC. I don't think it matters much what D he plays against, he's going to break the record..

I am not saying Peyton won't do well in one or both KC games, but not at all game plans and team play is created equal from game to game. I am guessing the KC defense will be way more amped up to play the Broncos and Peyton Manning than they were to play Jason Campbell.

Courtesy of Scott Kacsmar: Peyton Manning has had a minimum of 27 completions, 295 yards, and 2 TDs in all 8 games, The only other quarterback in history to exceed all three of those marks in at least 8 games was Drew Brees in 2011, who managed to do it 8 times in 16 games.

Am I the only one worries that he's getting an MRI done in his leg tomorrow? He was limpin pretty badly at the end of the game. Losing him would crush my season to pieces.

Tied with 2007 Brady with 33 in 9 games.
Hmmm. I would have guessed he was ahead of that pace.
Bad weather late in the season slowed down Brady and will slow down Peyton (or he gets hurt).
well, he got hurt.

brace yourselves, manning owners. i think we're gonna hear bad news tomorrow after the mri. looked bad. helmet to knee, then immediately grabbing a knee....next time that turn out to be nothing will be the first.

Awesome. I had Denver all teed up for my survivor pool next week. (Yes, against KC!)

Please let this be nothing..... :scared:

I personally think he's out for the year. Sounded dejected as hell at his presser. Said he's "really sore" and they will see what the MRI says.

And it all came on a pass which was basically unnecessary. They close out the game with or without throwing there.

Peyton probably called the play himself.

I'm already trying to think of how I can survive this if he misses time. I wonder if is osweiler is a smart pickup? He'll have Peyton's weapons and we know he's got a gun. And he's been under Peyton's tutelage.

Is it weird that in a dynasty league where I'm depending on Peyton, I'm not totally freaking out because I've got Osweiler?

lots of backups are succeeding this year. i'd imagine he will within a few games. i'm nauseated right now.

And getting rave reviews. It's not a bad thought.

Peyton Manning will undergo an MRI on Monday, after he finished Sunday’s win over San Diego limping heavily courtesy of a tackle attempt by Corey Liuget.

Manning, who has been dealing with a pair of sore ankles, struggled to get to his feet following the Liuget hit — the Chargers’ linemen wrapped Manning up just above the knees. The Broncos called a timeout so a limping Manning could stay in the game, and Manning took that extra moment to let the officials have it for not flagging Liuget.

“I’m pretty sore,” Manning said after his team’s 28-20 victory. “They kind of got me twice in that lower area. [i'll] get an MRI tomorrow and will know more then.”

Manning did not specify which aching area of his body actually required the MRI, but he appeared to be favoring his right knee after the collision with Liuget.

Holy overreaction Batman!

Assuming Peyton is going to be ok, does anyone still think I'm crazy that to think that he may not want to come back next year and go through this anymore?

He's one of the least sacked QB's in the league, and always has been. Its not like he's Favre out there.

He truly loves the game. I think he plays until the game doesn't want him anymore. I think he wants the records and to be mentioned in the best ever conversations. Then, he can become a coach.

For someone like you and me, I don't think that'd be the slightest bit crazy. Of course, I think that's a big reason why you and I aren't playing in the NFL. You've gotta be a little bit crazy to make it all the way to the league.

I gotta be honest: I am not sure how Peyton is gonna hold up behind that line, especially with two games coming up against the Chiefs really good pass rush. Peyton cannot keep getting hit like he has been the last month.

Peyton can't afford another 1 TD game like against the Chiefs. It's also possible that he drops 7 on the Raiders week 17 if he needs them.

I was surprised Peyton didn't aim to hang more passing TDs on the Jags when they played. They were certainly there for the taking. If he just misses breaking the record, that will be a game that will be revisited by the historian-types.

I still think he will do it this year though.

Not off the rails but it's starting to look a lot tougher.
