Will Sigmund Bloom's articles remain free? (1 Viewer)

Morning all,

I noticed that much of the footballguys website has made the switch over to members only. I was just wondering if Bloom's articles will also have to be paid for as soon as they are released. I used to go to a lot of other fantasy football boards but the insight here, specifically the posts by Bloom are what initially got my attention to stay here. Since then, i've come to find out that the entire website, staff and board members are an endless fountain of information that is unmatched anywhere.

It is my understanding that during the offseason Bloom has joined the staff. That is awesome, and only adds to the strength of the site. But will his top 100 rookie updates and buy low/ sell high features be available now on a membership only basis? If so, it will sadden me to not have access to the draw that first pulled me to the website...Then again, it could be the deciding factor in forcing me to become a member.

Sucks to lose Blooms insight , especially on his Rookie Rankings...

That alone took a lot away from this board...

I don't even see much of his stuff on the "paying" side of the site...

And no, projections with no comment does not even come close to what he was contributing to the site...

Lets take up a collection and see if we can get him back where he belongs...

Seriously a major downgrade when we lost him to the "other" side...

Now if we lose MOP and a few others the message board will be a shadow of what it once was...

For anyone who didnt hear about what happened, my wife, a good friend, and two other concertgoers were hit by a drunk driver while waiting to cross the street after a black crowes concert at the backyard, outside of austin.Im doing better physically... still having some lingering problems with my jaw and hip, and I also found out I was hobbling around on a broken leg for two weeks (just a fibula, no biggie, but it was still a bit of a shock). The mental side is a little rougher. I lost one of my best friends in the accident and I still have an 8 hour gap in my memory around it (suffered a big knock on the head). The good news for y'all and FBG is that reading/writing/research of football is one of the things that most makes me feel like myself and has been a shelter during this time - all the more reason for me to pour myself into it as the season approaches!

Thanks to everyone on the board that sent me well wishes during my (ongoing) recovery.

Hi Rascal. I am not sure about the other magazine features but I am currently revamping my offensive line feature, adding in some extra bells and whistles such as each team's performance last year in a number of different areas of blocking such as a team's YPC, Sacks allowed, SA / passing attempt, total yards rushing and the like. The grades have been tweaked as have some of the starting lineups. Look for it at the middle to end of next week.

My sympathies to Bloom. Hopefully you recover soon. I lost my sister 6 years ago to a drunk driver.

IMO the first offense (drunken driving not hitting somebody) should be a 15 year prison sentence.

IMO the first offense (drunken driving not hitting somebody) should be a 15 year prison sentence.

Ironically, my late buddy Jeff Wilson was a criminal defense attorney. My wife is a prosecutor. A lot of our friends are prosecutors or defense attornies. I'm willing to grant people one mistake - and the system hits you pretty hard on your first offense (unless you have the money to pay an attack defense attorney)-once you get that wakeup call though, you should not subject others to the danger of your irresponsibility Im sorry you lost your sister to a drunk driver, rascal. Many people have told us stories of getting over terrible tragedies since this happened and it does help on the road to mental and physical recovery.Just to add a detail, this woman blew a .148 hours after the accident. My guess is that she was out cold when she hit us.

You know, all this time, I've read your scouting reports and have enjoyed them greatly. As much as I enjoy your player analysis and scouting of rookies, I've never once heard anything about your fantasy football success, leagues etc. I am looking forward to it!
