Thought I'd guage the feeling of fellow Sharks on whether they think Steve Smith will play tomorrow or not. Just a fun poll, we'll obviously not know for sure until tomorrow, maybe even until game time...

As a Steve Smith owner, I'd probably rather he doesn't play, and not risk him making the injury more serious. I have a gut feeling that he will play though...

Good info. Who are you John Fox. Do you have a link? The truth is we won't know until tomorrow. I voted that he won't play, but we'll see tomorrow.

It is a game time decision.

All us Smith owners will be sitting around our tv's in the morning and they will flash a scene of Smith on the field testing out his hammy running routes. And as they go to commercial, the announcer will say something like, "This is Steve Smith seeing if he can go for the game." We then will sit around hitting refresh on our keyboards in the various Smith threads and then they will go to the Fox-cast thing and we will learn probably 10 minutes before the game his status.

Lucky for us it is an early game.

Of course if he doesn’t play, I will then try to update my lineup and Fanball will be at its usual turtle pace and I will end up being stuck with a zero.

My best guess is that he is not playing. The improved play of Colbert and Drew Carter gives the Panthers sufficient depth at WR with Key being the #1 guy and the other two making 4-6 catches for the game to keep Steve on the sideline. Fox knows that we need Smith and there is enough talent that we can survive w/ out him for a game or two.

I will be at the game and not be able to switch out my lineup, so he is going to be on my bench. :(

he's not playing IMO and this author's

While this author is stating his opinion he gives good reason. Fox almost never starting guys that didn't practice. And it's two hamstrings, not just one, that's botherring him.
I wouldn't put much stock in this report as if Steve felt like he could play he would. Steve has been with the team so long and has so much talent Fox would let him play if he felt he could. I just don't think that Steve feels like he could go. I know that he would love to torch Hall, but he doesn't want to hurt the team by pushing it to point of re-injuring his hammy.

I doubt he plays this week, The panthers still have enough weapons on that offense to win the game without him. I think he rests up this week and comes back week 2. Like PSU said, the worst thing that can happen is that he makes his hammy worse today by playing and misses a ton of time.

to each his own bro. You know as well as I that sometimes on Sundays we have to roll with "almost news" and a reporters thoughts to form a decision. The fact that's it's both hammy's and "intensive medical treatment" didn't help much seems to have made me think he's not worth the play.I agree Fox would probably cut him some slack, if any player, but I still wouldn't want a guy that's only going to play X number of plays and not the whole game.
