Wind-Aided Long Field Goal (1 Viewer)

After you finish with your kicker crusade, I hope you turn your attention to how wind effects the punters.
Wind doesn't effect the punters.
If this thread is to serve one purpose it's that both of you learn that "effect" is a noun and "affect" is a verb.
Since we are being grammar pedants, "effect" can also be a verb. Since wind does not cause punters to come into existence, however, this is not relevant to the present context. We could however, discuss punters effecting kicks into the wind...
I wasn't being a pedant. I was just trying to help people learn through a hard and fast grammar rule that's helped me in the past. I'm not sure what your intent is.
"Both" of us? Do you really think that I don't know that wind affects punts? I was passive aggressively calling out the grammar I quoted but not in an overt db way. :whoosh: Because, you know, wind doesn't "effect" the punters, it "affects" them.

I'm out. Fisher never gave Zuerlein a chance from 70 yards anyway. If some dude gets a chance in perfect kicking conditions one day it will be well earned.

There was no need to add the word "Long" to your thread title. The wind can aid a short field goal just as easily as it can aid a long field goal.

If I were an NFL owner, I would rally my end zone fans to all simultaneously blow as hard as they can when opposing kickers are making a field goal attempt.

Also, you should deduct a point for all field goals kicked in a dome, and add a point for all field goals kicked in Heinz Field.
