Wind doesn't effect the punters.

If this thread is to serve one purpose it's that both of you learn that "effect" is a noun and "affect" is a verb.

Since we are being grammar pedants, "effect" can also be a verb. Since wind does not cause punters to come into existence, however, this is not relevant to the present context. We could however, discuss punters effecting kicks into the wind...

I wasn't being a pedant. I was just trying to help people learn through a hard and fast grammar rule that's helped me in the past. I'm not sure what your intent is.

"Both" of us? Do you really think that I don't know that wind affects punts? I was passive aggressively calling out the grammar I quoted but not in an overt db way. :whoosh: Because, you know, wind doesn't "effect" the punters, it "affects" them.
