Windows 10, anyone upgrading? (1 Viewer)

Reset my laptop to factory settings, rolling it back to 8.1. The connectivity issues I had from day 1 hadn't been solved with the last few months of updates, and it works perfectly now that I'm back on 8.1. I like 10 more, but I guess my laptop didn't.

Did you do a clean install? Or just an upgrade?

I absolutely hate Windows and really only use Chromebooks these days, but there are a couple of things I need Windows for (print server for a really good, but older dumb printer and remote viewing our security system).

Anyway, what's the cheapest decent Windows laptop?

Are the HP Stream's and ASUS Transformer's solid? Talking about very, very occasional use.

This thread is a bit long so I'll ask up front and hopefully not offend. I use Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to VPN in to work a few days a week. Initial reports were that there were a lot of problems with W10 and this software. Has that been resolved? It's the whole reason I have never updated. I just cannot give up my ability to WFH. And having to deal with our tech folks if it goes south is akin to slamming my jimmy repeatedly between two cinder blocks.

I love Asus (just picked up one for the wife in fact). But for cheap, solid laptops, Toshiba usually has a ton of very affordable choices out there on sale.

Absolutely love my ASUS Zenbook. Windoze 10 is great except for some Bluetooth and wifi connectivity issues. Sometimes drops connection and a pain to have to wrestle with it. Otherwise great.

This issue was fixed for my Cisco VPN (not anyconnect) and I presume it is fixed for anyconnect as well.

I found an easy to follow workaround through google.

Apologies if this was mentioned somewhere in this thread.

I got a new computer with 10 already installed, after a few days of hits and misses I think it's ok,however,

has anyone heard if there's going to be a fix for the mail clients inability to create new folders?

I use earthlink and had a bunch of separate folders on my old machine,windows10 mail client doesn't allow this.

Has anyone heard of any fixes or a way around it? Otherwise I like 10.

Bought a desktop for personal use and it had Windows 10. I haven't really noticed anything, which means I pretty much like it. On the plus side I dug out my Office Premium 2000 and installed it just to see if it would work. I got several errors saying file not found but just skipped those dozen errors. So far Word, Excel, and Access are working flawlessly. Shocking in today's throw away/upgrade society that 16 year old software runs on brand new OS.
