This from today's Redskins game has me thinking:
Seems like most coaches challenge anything and everything that is wrong without regard for game strategy. Is using all your challenges rare enough that strategy doesn't matter here?
Yay, Gruden won the challenge. But why bother? Is 2nd and 10 from their own 39 really so much better for your defense than 2nd and 8 from their own 41 that it's worth spending a challenge you might need later?1ST & 10 WAS 39 1:27
A.Smith pass short middle to M.Floyd to WAS 41 for 2 yards (L.David). The Replay Official reviewed the pass completion ruling and the play was REVERSED. A.Smith pass incomplete short middle to M.Floyd.
