WIS 2012: Back to the Future II - Draft and Season Thread (4 Viewers)

I think everybody should be able to find six hitters on the AAA list in order to get all their bats entered, even though they won't be the exact six guys you want to start the season in the minors.
Yeah, but I thought we didn't have to fill out our AAA squads at all. So if we only want to stash three bats and two arms, that that was alright. Wasn't that the way it was last year? My AAA squad last year most filled with $200,000 guys because my drafted squad was so thin.

OK. Let's set divisions.

I'm still not really over the Scott Sizemore thing. It set me into a panic that resulted in me getting 0, zero ABs from the first three 3B I drafted. Not my finest hour.

The A's managed to recover
In retrospect my biggest mistake was feeling like I had to fill that gap right away rather than sticking to my original draft plan. Through trade and a player drafted much later (Matt Carpenter) I'll actually be decent at that spot.

LINEUP

Matt Holliday, LF - 295/379/497 - B/D-

Jason Heyward, RF - 269/335/479 - B/B+

Garrett Jones/Bryan LaHair, 1B - 271/321/502 - C/D-, B/D-

Evan Longoria/Trevor Plouffe, 3B - 261/334/489 - C-/B, C-/A-

Asdrubal Cabrera, SS - 270/338/423 - B/A

Jonathon Lucroy/Josh Thole, C - 283/323/415 - B/A+/D both

DJ LeMahieu/Steve Lombardozzi, 2B - 283/323/377 - A/D+, A/A-

pitcher

Denard Span, CF - 283/342/395 - A/A+

While LF is my best offensive position, I don't want to waste Holliday's PA's. That will lead to batting Span 9th to provide Holliday with a man on base and also to stretch out his PA's to keep his A/A+ in CF all year. The lack of full time players at C, 1B, and 3B will result in shuffling of the lineup in simlive. The slash numbers for those positions are based on expected use of both players.

BENCH

Dave Sappelt, PH 78 PA's - 275/351/449

Plouffe and LaHair will have plenty of PH PA's to waste as well

My 25 man roster is pretty much set. I would be willing to trade an 25 man player with some of the available players to improve one spot on my roster. If you are interested in any of these players send me a PM and I will look over your roster and see if I can find something I want.

:goodposting: I only have 3 AAA hitters. Forgot about the 200k player thing, are we allowed to play the 200K guys we pick up?

I'm still looking to trade Everth Cabrera and Elliot Johnson. Need 3B help and could use better innings.

RnR would be a good trading partner for me but he doesn't seem to be paying attention.

Close to moving Fernando Salas. I am looking for a servicable middle infielder. I have sent out a couple of offers just waiting to hear back from the two of you.

You know who you are!!!!

you guys need a matchmaker?

Got response back on my WIS ticket.

"Random" provides the largest distribution of available players. In our update, we'll be adding another option that allows the full spectrum but that is not yet available.
so you'll have to piece together your opening day rosters and AAA players around the list of players posted earlier. Chances are all 24 teams will have at most 6 minor leaguers among the 212 player pool. I'll finalize the league and update the OP tonight.

I have both Hannahan and Rolen as backup 3b right now. Might be a fit

If you are interested in any of my available players above, I just want a minor upgrade on my 25 man roster (you would also receive the player I would be replacing in the trade). Tillman in particular could be useful as a tandem starter or long reliever.

I wonder how long the wait will be to get the "full spectrum".

:bye: I did recently acquire Danny Espinosa to play SS. However, I'm still very open to moving McCann or Pierzynski in a package to upgrade my SP or an OF slot. PM's are cleared out to entertain any deals. My apologies for being flaky during these few weeks, life happens.

I was so hell-bent on trading Cabrera I never put him in the draft center and noticed he can play 3B. I may as well just keep him.

Anyone desperate enough for Elliot Johnson? He won't cost much.
