WIS 2012: Back to the Future II - Draft and Season Thread (1 Viewer)

We are about to see if Adam Lind can catch.
hey, if Anthony Rizzo can do it...
 He's good for about 2 PB a game, but he can hit!
I really really want to play you guys... :excited: I have a few different ways to do my lineup where I have 4 guys with 90+ speed and another with 85 speed...
Hint: he's not my full time catcher.
:goodposting: And not even my backup catcher.

Hint: You guys should probably stop doing that if you have catchers to play instead. :GeorgeBell:
My catchers were both in the red fatigue-wise, so had to do something as a stop gap. Newsflash: I did not draft well at that position when it came to games played. And stupid Molina went to two teams so I didn't feel like I had the right to roster him.

BREAKING NEWS: I have two full time catchers. Been trying to unload one for weeks. Let's talk.

I know. But it would be funny to see what a team like that would do to a non-catcher.

I have an extra bullpen arm and I need a hitter. Preferably SS or 3B. The quality of the reliever depends on the quality of the hitter.

Let me know.

Casey Kotchman and Yuniesky Betancourt both sitting on my AAA squad if anyones interested

I could use some C PA's or a lower PA bench bat :coffee:

trying to figure out what this means.
Replace Molina with Yorvit. Teach me to post using my phone while on a conference call.
They should have a 2012 Torrealba that has all of his stats from both teams.
They have four version of each player who played on two teams. For me Ryan Dempster had a Rangers partial season, a Cubs partial season, a full season of stats with the Cubs as his team, and a full season of stats with the Rangers as his team.

Can I trade some studs for first round picks in next year's draft? :bag:

ETA: I use the term 'studs' loosely with my squad this year. That's what I get for going Red Sox with my first two picks. :kicksrock:

Right, but either way he should be able to roster him.

I got scared with old WIS nerdfights about half seasons and Haaarrrrrrr quitting the Internet. It was late and I was pretty drunk when I set up my team. I will stick with my ex-Texas catching duo of Salty and Teabag, and let the Adam Lind experiment happen when need be.

if anyone finds himself in a bind with PAs or IPs, i have a handful of $0.7-$1.4mm players just sitting in AAA. Wouldn't just give them away, of course, but would want to package with someone on the 25-man roster for an upgrade somewhere.

[*]Devin Mesoraco - C

[*]Eric Thames - OF

[*]Nate McLouth - OF

[*]David Cooper - 1B

[*]Domonic Brown - OF

[*]Phil Humber - SP

[*]Liam Hendriks - SP

[*]Justin Germano - SP

[*]Henry Rodriguez - RP

your current WIS leader in Slugging %, Isolated Power, and Secondary Average is...Carlos Gomez
also leads the league in SB, is 3rd in RBIs despite only playing 26 games, 21st in HR, and has the longest current hitting streak (16)... MVP!! MVP!!! MVP!!(note: now that I googled secondary average I realize that the SB is included in that. Still! 1 SB/game! He has 25 SB and 84 TB in 116 PAs!! That's ridiculous!)

has anyone in real baseball ever led the league in Slugging % and Steals? Ty Cobb, maybe.

eta: yes, Cobb did it 4 times. So did Honus Wagner.

found one more... Snuffy Stirnweiss (1945, war-aided)

and another... Chuck Klein (1932).

So, no one since WW2, though Mike Trout almost did it this season.

So, Mr. AL MVP and Rookie of the Century owner. We end the season with a four game series that will begin to sim on Christmas night. If we are still within a game or two entering that series, is there any chance we can simlive the deciding series Christmas night?

I'd say that is very possible.

lot of tired catchers out there. i have Devin Mesoraco available. 640 OPS. 188 PAs. A/A+/D- defense (caught 10 out of 49 SBA).

would want to package him with someone on the 25 man roster for a small upgrade somewhere.

raise your hand, or send me a note, if you have any interest. i will look over your roster and see if there is something workable.

p.s. also have plenty of pitchers going unused. Replacement level guys, but still usable IPs. From 30 IP to 110 IP.
