I'm a little unclear on what's happening here. Are we having trouble because it's the first round, and everyone in the back half of the draft has assumed we haven't started drafting yet? Or is it an assumption that it's going to "take forever to get to their pick", so no need to check the thread daily?Or is it having no clock in the first round? A hour clock under the current drafting circumstances is going to lead to massive skips.
I think the issue is if we can't even get through the first round in a day, how the hell are we going to do this when we are drafting Cleveland's 3rd string catcher in round 25.I think we definitely need to have this done before any regular season games are played. Otherwise, someone is going to get real lucky in round 30 when teams announce their 25 man opening day roster and some relatively unknown guy gets a starting gig somewhere.

Serious answer: When the guy running the league doesn't believe in the rules we have, its a problem. Eeph has been luke warm to this idea at best, and it shows in the vibe he has put off on this thing. He delayed the start for weeks, killed all the momentum we had from the sign-up thread while trying to turn this into a 7 month mini-draft session, and I'm pretty sure if I hadn't PM'ed people to get the last 5 or 6 rolls we'd still be waiting to start. His "we can take as much time as we want" theory to this draft is producing expected results. He's a good dude, usually an excellent commissioner, and a keystone to the WIS contingent around here, but its pretty clear this idea isn't his baby.

PS- This isn't an attempt at mutiny, just an observation.
