WIS MMXI: Back to the Future Edition- Draft & Season Thread (4 Viewers)

I'm a little unclear on what's happening here. Are we having trouble because it's the first round, and everyone in the back half of the draft has assumed we haven't started drafting yet? Or is it an assumption that it's going to "take forever to get to their pick", so no need to check the thread daily?Or is it having no clock in the first round? A hour clock under the current drafting circumstances is going to lead to massive skips.
things will be fine once we start the clock.

Eephus.
It's part of my master plan to have supplemental drafts.

I think the issue is if we can't even get through the first round in a day, how the hell are we going to do this when we are drafting Cleveland's 3rd string catcher in round 25.I think we definitely need to have this done before any regular season games are played. Otherwise, someone is going to get real lucky in round 30 when teams announce their 25 man opening day roster and some relatively unknown guy gets a starting gig somewhere.
:wall: Serious answer: When the guy running the league doesn't believe in the rules we have, its a problem. Eeph has been luke warm to this idea at best, and it shows in the vibe he has put off on this thing. He delayed the start for weeks, killed all the momentum we had from the sign-up thread while trying to turn this into a 7 month mini-draft session, and I'm pretty sure if I hadn't PM'ed people to get the last 5 or 6 rolls we'd still be waiting to start. His "we can take as much time as we want" theory to this draft is producing expected results. He's a good dude, usually an excellent commissioner, and a keystone to the WIS contingent around here, but its pretty clear this idea isn't his baby. :2cents:PS- This isn't an attempt at mutiny, just an observation.

You're well on your way.

Relax nerds. We're five picks away from a clock. This will all be forgotten by round 28 or 29.You're sounding like Charles.

Jan 20th: The thread for new WIS league opens

Jan 27th: All potential draft format proposals have been made

Jan 31st: Moops posts an unofficial count of interested parties, and we have 25.

Mar 1st: We're on pick 20 after 5 days of the most painful drafting in WIS history.

Mar 31st: The season starts.

You need Charles to help you with this one, doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to see what's happening here. A straight-forward, no non-sense fella like Charles would be perfect for this league. It's not too late to move him up the ranks.

One hour clock starts tomorrow. It'll run from 9AM to 6PM EST unless you specifically mention you're in another timezone and want to adjust your local clock.

Please make a ballpark pick with your 2nd rounder. See post #2 for stadium list. Your third rounder will be auto-skipped if you haven't picked a park by then.

ETA: I'm Pacific time

i was really surprised he fell to me at 24, and i fear i will regret passing him as well. Wanted to take both ARod and Zimmerman with the turn, but not enough value when you would then have to put one at 1B. In the end, decided to go with the 26 year old, rather than the 35 year old.
